This research proposal letter will be directed to an audience who can create change (Congressperson, business administrators, or other similar audience.) In the proposal, you need to suggest a change or a solution to a current problem. As you have already chosen a topic for your research proposal letter in Topic 6 and conducted an interview that will become one of your sources for this letter, you do not need to choose a topic. You must use the same topic that you began researching in Topic 6, and you must use your interview as a source.
Your research proposal should be presented in a letter format including the following information:
· Your mailing address (Note: For privacy reasons, you may opt to not disclose your mailing address when you submit your letter to our graders for review; however, should you choose to mail your letter to your chosen recipient, you will need to include your mailing address, as this is a customary business letter practice.) Note that a formal letter does not require your name in the header. Your name will go at the end, with your closing.
· The date you wrote the letter
· A name and mailing address for the individual to whom you are writing the letter
· A greeting or salutation
· A closing and your typed name (Note: A written signature is optional for your submission, but should you choose to send your letter, you would need to include your written signature between the closing and your typed name.)
Scroll to the end of these instructions for an idea of how you should format this assignment.
To organize this information, follow the format included in the course site in the “Assignments” area.
For your proposal, follow this organizational framework:
For your researched proposal, follow this organizational framework:
· Introduction: The Problem
Identify the problem, including researched information to explain it fully. You may devote more than one paragraph to describe the problem if needed. To determine the extent of the information you must provide about the problem, consider the letter recipient’s understanding of the problem.
· Body: Your Proposal
Explain the specifics of your proposal. What are your solutions to solve this problem, step by step? What is the cost? How is this cost incurred? What ideas do you have for funding your proposal?
Justify your proposal. How will your proposal solve the problem? Why is this proposal feasible?
Concede or refute the counterarguments: Will the letter recipient have certain preconceived ideas about the subject? How can you address these counterarguments without diminishing your argument? Note: You will lose points from the rubric if you do not address the counterargument.
· Conclusion: Your Argument
Take into consideration your chosen audience and his/her interests. Use persuasive techniques to align your proposal to the audience’s ideals. You may use more than one concluding paragraph if needed.
See the end of this document for more specific information about formatting your letter appropriately.
You are required to use source information, including ideas you learned from the interview process wherever it will prove your point. In addition to the interview itself, you should have at least two other credible sources, for a total of at least three sources. Note: If you do not meet the source minimum, the rubric will automatically be scored down.
Since this is a letter, you will use signal phrases (i.e., “As Fugle describes…”) and omit parenthetical citations (“Fugle”). You must include a Works Cited page for this assignment. Good, informative signal phrases will be important in order to make sure your sources are credited (example: “Fugle, a well-known environmental researcher, explains the problem by…”).
As with all college writing, you must include a strong thesis statement and take care to avoid logical fallacies while following the other standards for academic writing.
You might use this as a guideline in crafting your thesis:
Valley City should (add solution suggestion), which (add how it can be funded) and (add justification), although (add counterargument focus).
Here is a more specific example:
Valley City should (use its largest abandoned warehouse for a new recreational center to hold before and after-school programs), which (can be conveniently funded by the tax stream that was being used to construct Main Street until this point), and will (provide the final element—housing—in order for local schools to also implement a before-school program(, and although (some community members do not believe before- and after-school programs are necessary(, they should (review the high number of students apprehended by law enforcement during the hours before and after-school programs would operate).
The guidelines for this assignment are as follows:
Length: This assignment should be at least 500 words.
· This assignment has a special format (letter style), so you will not use a typical header
· Single-spacing, with a double-space between paragraphs (see below)
· Standard 12 point font (Arial, TimesNewRoman, Calibri)
· 1” margins on all sides
· Save the file using one of the following extensions: .docx, .doc, .rtf, or .txt
Since this is a formal letter format, you will not underline your thesis statement.
Writing Exercise: Interview Summary/Synthesis For this assignment, you should be interviewing a person who has expertise about a topic essay help online
Writing Exercise: Interview Summary/Synthesis
For this assignment, you should be interviewing a person who has expertise about a topic you are interested in. Please note that you should be conducting an actual interview; you should now be summarizing an interview conducted by someone else.
Part #1: Choose a Research Topic and an Interviewee
You do not need to submit this portion in writing, but you do need to accomplish this in preparation for your research assignment.
In preparation for your research proposal letter in the next topic, you will need to choose a topic for your proposal. This research proposal letter will be directed to an audience who can create change (Congressperson, business administrator, or other similar audience). In the proposal, you need to suggest a change or a solution to a current problem. Examples of strong proposal topics would be things like funding ideas for an animal shelter, starting a recycling program in a community, suggesting a better plan for public transport, or another idea that interests you. You will be proposing solutions for these issues. Choose a topic that you are passionate about and for which you will be able to develop at least one solution. While this information should be enough for your to choose a topic, please consult the assignment sheet within Topic 7 if you have more questions about this assignment.
Once you choose a topic, it’s time to choose a credible expert to interview on that subject. In other words, you should avoid choosing an interviewee who is a close friend or family member unless that person truly is an expert in the field. This credible expert should have 10 years of experience in his or her discipline. Choose an interviewee who not only could offer some specific details about the problem but one who may also be able to offer suggestions of a plausible solution. use the information contained in the lesson presentation to secure and conduct a successful interview.
Part #2: Summarize and Synthesize Your Interview
When you summarize and synthesize, you take the smaller pieces (the sections of the interview) and develop them into one cohesive piece. Doing this exercise will help you prepare for the research proposal letter, where you will need to incorporate at least a few ideas from the interview.
To successfully summarize and synthesize, you might find it helpful to follow this sequence for your essay:
1) Provide Background Information:
In your introductory paragraph, introduce your audience to your interviewee. What is his/her name? What is his/her experience? if relevant, where is the interviewee employed?
2) Summarize the Interview:
While you want to avoid the all-too-predictable question and answer format, you should provide information about what you learned from the interview. Take a look at your original questions, group them into categories, and use those categories to build your body paragraph(s). Also, you may note the interviewee’s reactions in your summary as well. Was the interviewee nervous about answering a question? Did he/she seem knowledgeable in the subject matter? Make this summary work for you by including whatever details and responses you feel are important and will help you when you write the research proposal.
3) Synthesize the Interview:
In the conclusion, synthesize the interview. To synthesize just means that you should consider all of the information you gathered from this interview and draw conclusions. What did you learn from the interview? How did the interviewee and/or the interview help you gain a deeper understanding of your topic? Other findings?
No source citations are required for this assignment, but please review the rubric to get a better idea of how you will be assessed.
The guidelines for this assignment are as follows:
Length: This assignment should be a minimum of 350 words.
Header: Include a header in the upper left-hand corner of your writing assignment with the following information:
• Your first and last name
• Course Title (Composition II)
• Assignment name (Interview Summary)
• Current Date
• MLA-style source documentation and Works Cited1
• Your last name and page number in the upper-right corner of each page
• Double-spacing throughout
• Standard font (Times New Roman, Calibri)
• Title, centered after heading
• 1″ margins on all sides
• Save the file using one of the following extensions: .docx, .doc, .rtf, or .txt
Underline your thesis statement in the introductory paragraph.

Welcome to week 2 of Drug Use, Abuse, and Trafficking.
This week you are required to read Zilney, “Chapter 1: Framing Drugs and Their Use.” (I have provided you with a copy of Zilney’s textbook, in PDF, from our homepage. I recommend you download and print the chapters you are required to read. Take me seriously on this point, please: like it or not all of us read differently when there is a physical copy of text in front of us.) I highly recommend you download and print a copy of Zilney’s Table of Contents and the Index to her book.
On Wednesday, I will release the discussion board to you. I release the work for the week on Wednesdays. This is to get you into the habit of reading first and doing the work for the class after you have done the reading.
You can prepare for this week’s discussion board in a number of ways:
1. Do the reading required for the week.
2. In this particular week think about what “framing” an issue means. Also, why don’t you look up the Rashomon effect? Try to think about how the issues of drug use, abuse, and trafficking are “framed.” Ask yourself questions about how the issue of “drugs” (whatever that word means to you) has been framed for you. What effects has that framing had on you? When you think of “drugs” are you thinking about “caffeine”? If so, why? If not, why not?
In a related note, how do you think of Rashomon? Do you recognize that the only common fact among the divergent stories is that the man died? Or, do you immediately fall into the trap of thinking that the film is a whodunnit and that Tajomaru murdered the man? Or that the man committed suicide? (Neither of these two possibilities are facts. Rather they are interpretations of the man’s death.)
3. Read the Sway webpage on the requirements for Writing a Discussion Board. (Print this out!)
4. Read the rubric I will use to grade the discussion board. (Print this out!)
5. The discussion board prompt will be released to you here on Wednesday before 12pm MT.

For this Writing Plan, you will analyze your selected reading and state an opinion or evaluation about the author’s claim. You will then use evidence or key points from the selected reading to back up your evaluation.
Note: Remember to cite any works you use in your assignment. You will not be graded on the citations; the purpose is just to make certain you are practicing using citations.
Specifically, you must address the following rubric criteria:
What is the author’s claim in the selected reading? In other words, what do you believe the author wants their audience to learn or understand better once they have finished reading?
Have you identified new key points that the author uses to support their claim in the selected reading? If so, include them here. If not, restate the key points you uncovered in your Writing Notes assignment and explain why the key points from your Writing Notes have remained the same, even after conducting an active reading of the article.
Describe the author’s target audience: what group or groups of people is the author trying to reach with their message?
What choices does the author make within their writing to connect with this target audience?
Explain your evaluation of the author’s claim: is the claim strong or weak? What evidence or key points from the writing best support the author’s claim? If you found the claim to be weak, explain why the evidence or key points provided did not effectively support the author’s claim.

As a practicing independent Behavior Analyst, you have received an email from a staff member representing a provider of education and/or human services requesting your services. Specifically, this staff member has asked you to meet with other staff and/or administrators to develop a behavior intervention plan for a third-grade student at a local elementary school. This student is demonstrating significant problem behaviors in the form of disruptive behaviors in his classroom and in other settings within the school (lunch, recess, specials, etc.). Disruptive behaviors have been termed “aggressive” and “non-compliant” by school staff.
Please detail responses to the following:
Specify the referral problem. Be creative and describe the type of provider that has requested your services, the client, and provide operational definitions for the problem behaviors indicated in the scenario.
In a scriipt or narrative format, provide information to the members of the “planning” meeting including the following:
Describe the specific purposes of a Functional Behavioral Assessment (FBA) and discuss why conducting the FBA prior to the development of a behavior intervention plan is important.
Describe, in specific detail, how antecedent stimuli and conditions could be potentially important for the assessment of the target behaviors in the scenario. Please include discussion of the influence of Discriminative Stimuli and Motivating Operations in triggering the target behaviors.
Describe, in specific detail, how Consequence stimuli and conditions could be potentially important for the assessment of the target behaviors. Be sure to indicate the influences of Positive Reinforcement, Negative Reinforcement, and Automatic Reinforcement in maintaining the target behaviors.
Describe three (3) Indirect Functional Assessment procedures that you may be implementing during the process of the Functional Behavioral Assessment. Be sure to specify how they will be used and the purpose of each tool.
Describe three (3) Direct Descriiptive Assessment procedures you may be implementing during the process of the Functional Behavioral Assessment. Be sure to specify how they will be used and the purpose of each tool.
Describe, in specific detail, at least two (2) ethical obligations and/or concerns that would be necessary to address within the current case scenario. (You may use either, or both, APA and BACB guidelines as reference).
Tips for developing your responses:
The staff that you are presenting to think that, as a Behavior Analyst, you will be able to develop a behavior plan on the spot during this meeting that is both easy to administer and effective at modifying the behavior of the client in question. The staff clearly knows nothing about behavioral assessment processes. It is your job to assist them in understanding the process of Functional Behavioral Assessment and its necessity before any interventions can be developed and implemented.
Be sure to discuss antecedent stimuli and consequence stimuli based on the function (purpose) that the target (problem) behavior serves and not the choice of intervention. The goal is to identify variables that are related to the occurrence of the problem behavior, not to develop an intervention.
Be mindful of making solid choices of the procedures you will be highlighting based on the scenario presented as well as rationales for your choices.
Indirect Assessment Tools / Procedures:
The Functional Behavioral Assessment Screening Form
The Behavioral Stream Interview
The Antecedent Variables Assessment Form
The Individual Variables Assessment Form
The Consequence Variables Assessment Form
Directive Descriiptive Tools / Procedures:
Task Difficulty Antecedent Analysis Form
The Conditional Probability Record
The Functional Behavioral Assessment Form
Interval Recording Procedures
Task Analysis Recording Procedure
Assignment should be a minimum of 3-5 pages not including the title and reference pages.
If you feel you must find outside resources for assistance, please utilize academically legitimate resources. (DO NOT use websites and Wiki’s that are not peer-reviewed)
DO NOT focus on the use of diagnoses or labels.
Be specific and detailed; do not just list items and facts.
You may take creative license and add to the scenario by fleshing out the student’s history or presenting problems if you choose.
Please type your narrative essay using 12-point, Times New Roman font and double-spacing.
Provide APA Style, in-text citations for your sources.
Use Standard English writing requirements.
As a public health practitioner, you will choose methods to evaluate policies that address health disparities and advocate for essay help site:edu: essay help site:edu
As a public health practitioner, you will choose methods to evaluate policies that address health disparities and advocate for policies and programs for diverse populations. Advocacy runs along a continuum. Some issues, such as the risks associated with tobacco use, have had advocates since tobacco was first identified as a health hazard, yet this issue persists and anti-tobacco advocacy continues around the world.
For this assignment, you will write a paper on your selected health issue. In Unit 2, you researched one of these topics:
African American infant mortality.
Use of e-cigarettes.
Potable water safety.
Include in your paper the impacted populations, related policies, and an evaluation of the creation and implementation of these policies over the past five years. You will become well-informed of all dimensions of the health issue, including what has been done and what needs to be done.
The following instructions correspond to the grading criteria in the assignment scoring guide, so be sure to address each point. You may also want to review the performance level-descriiptions for each criterion to see how your work will be assessed.
By now you have chosen a health issue—African American infant mortality, e-cigarettes, drinking water safety, or immunization—to use in your course assignments. Conduct any further research that is necessary to find 5–10 references.
Using your selected health issue and a policy effort covered within the last five years, address the following in a 5–7 page paper:
Describe the method used to evaluate the selected policy.
Describe impacted populations and the geographic location for the selected health issue.
Evaluate existing policy content.
Explain how existing policies relate to the selected health issue.
Assess whether the content clearly articulates the goals of the policy, its implementation, and the rationale for why the policy will produce intended change.
If you believe that the policy will succeed, explain why.
If you believe that the policy will have limited or no success, explain why.
Evaluate the implementation of the existing policy.
Was the policy implemented as intended? Why or why not?
Evaluate the impact of the existing policy.
Did the policy produce the intended short-term, intermediate, and long-term outcomes? Why or why not?
Write with correct grammar, usage, and mechanics, using APA style and format for citations and references.
Written communication: Your paper should be organized with headings and subheadings as needed and be free of errors in grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
Length: 5–7 pages of content with one-half inch margins (minimum), plus title and reference pages.
Font and font size: Use a standard font, such as Times New Roman, 12 point. An optional APA style paper template is linked in Resources for your convenience.
References: 5–10 scholarly and/or professional references.

FloorArea: square feet of floor space
Offices: number of offices in the building
Entrances: number of customer entrances
Age: age of the building (years)
AssessedValue: tax assessment value (thousands of dollars)
Use the data to construct a model that predicts the tax assessment value assigned to medical office buildings with specific characteristics.
Construct a scatter plot in Excel with FloorArea as the independent variable and AssessmentValue as the dependent variable. Insert the bivariate linear regression equation and r^2 in your graph. Do you observe a linear relationship between the 2 variables?

Westminster Company. The Westminster Company assessing the efficiency and effectiveness of its logistics system design. A number of internal and external influences have made the firm reconsider its current system. As it stands, Westminster operates three separate distribution systems, one for each domestic sales division. It may seem obvious that consolidation of the systems can significantly improve efficiency, but there are a number of constraints placed on the company to make the determination a complicated one. You should consider the various pieces of cost information as well as numerous qualitative factors in order to reach conclusions for this case. As with all case questions, answers are not necessarily clear-cut though all responses should be adequately justified.
What impact would the three new alternatives have on transfer and customer freight cost? Why?
What impact would warehouse consideration have on inventory carrying costs, customer service levels, and order fill rate?
How are warehousing costs affected by the decision to use third party or private warehouse facilities? What effect would this have on handling, storage, and fixed facility costs?
What effect would shipping mixed shipments from consolidated distribution centers have on individual company cost and performance?
Evaluate the eight supply chain processes in terms of customer classification and degree of centralization/decentralization of required functionality (use the matrix in the case study).
Given all available information briefly describe the logistical system design you would recommend for Westminster’s integrated consumer products.
