It is important to understand what information systems are and why they are essential for running and managing a business. It is also important to understand the different systems that support different groups or levels of management. In addition, digital technology and the Internet play a key role in executing major business processes in the enterprise. Also, it is important to understand the ethical, social, and political issues raised by information systems. The case studies below provide you with an opportunity to critically analyze events that are taking place in real-life businesses. This helps to develop your critical thinking and research skills as you research each of these scenarios. For this assignment, review four case studies—two from Chapter 1 and two from Chapter 2. Then, in an essay, evaluate the studies and respond to each of the questions below, using both critical thinking and theory as well as supporting documentation. In Chapter 1, read the case study “UPS Competes Globally with Information Technology” on pages 23–24 of the textbook. Then, answer the questions below. How does UPS use information systems technology to achieve its strategic goals of being more efficient and customer oriented? What would happen if the automated package tracking system was not available? Discuss how globalization has “flattened” the world. In Chapter 2, read the case study “Data Changes How NFL Teams Play the Game and How Fans See It” on pages 52–53 of the textbook. The, address the prompts below. Analyze how information systems are transforming business. What types of systems does the NFL and its teams use? What is the role that these systems play in improving both operations and decision-making? In Chapter 3, read the case study “Smart Products—Coming Your Way” on pages 102–103 of the textbook. Then, address the prompts below. Explain the importance of collaboration and information sharing for businesses. Explain what a “smart” product is, and use an example. How do smart products increase rivalry among firms? In Chapter 4, read the case study “Are Cars Becoming Big Brother on Wheels?” on pages 121–122 of the textbook. Then, address the prompts below. Describe how new technology trends may cause ethical dilemmas. Discuss at least one ethical, social, and political issue raised by embedded cyber connections in cars. Discuss how big data analytics are being applied to all of the data generated by motor vehicles. In formatting your case analysis, do not use the question-and-answer format; instead, use an essay format with subheadings. Your APA-formatted case study must be at least four pages in length (not counting the title and reference pages). You are required to use a minimum of three peer-reviewed, academic sources that are no more than 5 years old (one may be your textbook). All sources used, including the textbook, must be referenced; all paraphrased material must have accompanying in-text citations.

Moral Philosophy at the Theater (Horton Hears a Who!) essay help online: essay help online

Moral Philosophy at the Theater (MPAT) employs cinema to apply the ideas and arguments learned from the required readings and class presentations. Students may research the plot to become familiar with the film. It is permissible to view any additional clips on YouTube. The goal of the essay is to apply ethical ideas from the course to create an informal argument, using the persuasive essay format as a tool to analyze the morality of the movie.

The essay explores Kant’s duty-based, deontological ethical theory as depicted through the scenes in Dr. Seuss’ (Theodor Seuss Geisel) animated children’s adventure Horton Hears A Who! Jim Carrey’s voice animates the cuddly elephant Horton, Steve Carrel’s voice gives life to the Mayor of Whoville, and Carrol Burnett gives voice to Ms. Kangaroo. The plot dramatizes Horton’s high-cost commitment to protect a microscopic town (Whoville) from the wily schemes of friends and neighbors in his community who are skeptical about the existence of “small people.”

Write a persuasive essay addressing this prompt:

Identify, analyze, and explain three possible normative tenets of Kant’s deontology expressed through the movie clips. Take care to contrast Kant’s deontology against the ethical system, subtly presented, that is the impetus for Kant’s absolutism. Use the salient ideas and arguments derived from the required readings and class presentations from this chapter to defend your interpretation of the ethical theories in the movie. You may draw from earlier course materials if they are relevant to your interpretations.

The criteria for a successful essay require the student to identify the conception of morality depicted in the movie clips and thoughtfully explain their connections to two or three ideas from the required readings and class presentations. (Do not merely summarize the scene.)

This persuasive essay requires a well-formed thesis statement (about 25 words). The thesis statement should be the last sentence of the first paragraph. This sentence should have an independent clause asserting the conception of morality in the movie clips with an independent clause (marked by “because”) to provide two or three reasons justifying this interpretation. The essay should also include succinct body paragraphs with topic sentences built from the words in the thesis. Within each body paragraph, include two supportive pieces of evidence containing verbiage from the movie.
Use these movie clips.

The DNP Project – IRB Process

NR702

Week 8

Research projects usually involve the use of an intervention that can expose participants to various health risks. The intervention may be tested for its efficacy or to what extent it can benefit participants who may ultimately experience adverse health effects (Orimadegun, 2020; Rosenfeld, 2020). Thus, the Institutional Review Board (IRB) should examine any investigation to protect participants’ health and safety. The project under investigation focuses on the efficacy of Diabetes Self-Management and Education but does not require IRB screening since it is a case study.

The IRB pre-screening review at Chamberlain University evaluates any investigation and how it can affect participants, the population, and healthcare delivery. For example, the use of evidence-based interventions, the generation of new knowledge, the expansion of theory, or the use of protocols are evaluated in the IRB process. Additionally, the IRB process entails checking if a project utilizes the same approach as a previous study or if Chamberlain University staff is involved. My project involves using the DSME intervention, which can change the physiological status of patients (Hai et al., 2019; Sayeed et al., 2020). I may encounter challenges in receiving approval since I should explain how the intervention would not affect the participants. However, the project does not need the IRB to review the process since the DSME intervention is evidence-based with proven beneficial effects (Zheng et al., 2019). Moreover, this project is a case study. Therefore, a letter is not needed.

In conclusion, the Chamberlain University IRB provides specific steps that investigators should follow to protect research participants. For instance, it assesses the intervention, its effect on the participants, and the need for its approval. However, the anticipated project is a case study that utilizes an evidence-based intervention. Although I may have challenges trying to justify the need for the proposal, it may be approved since it is evidence-based. Overall, no letter is required since the project is a case study.

Week 3 reply 2 online essay help: online essay help

Read classmates post and respond in 200 words:

Good evening Professor,

When I read the notes regarding the case of Shannon Williams, I began to analyze some of her symptoms, especially the mention of abdominal pain. My first thought was that it could be what women usually experience and suffer from time to time such as menstrual colic, or perhaps it could be intestinal gas or even a bad case of indigestion. But as I continued to analyze the other symptoms that Shannon presented, there was no doubt that it was appendicitis.

My conclusion relies on reading that one of the symptoms that characterize this type of disease is an inflammation in the lower right part of our body, as well as other symptoms such as fever, diarrhea, constipation, nausea, and vomiting.

In addition, the laboratory results, which in this case would be the altered result of the hematocrit, which is nothing more than the value that shows the number of red blood cells in the blood and that in women, the normal level is 36.1%.

Another thing worth pointing out is that the normal volume and range of red blood cells is about 80fl to 100fl. In Shannon’s case, she has 105fl, allowing us to conclude that Shannon suffers from anemia, due to the result of the hematocrit test, which is a low level of 32%, and the normal is higher than 36.1%.

The indications that Shannon was anemic are, first, the hematocrit test result, which, being below normal, indicates a lack of iron and a lack of vitamin B12.

Other organs that can cause pain in the right lower quadrant include but are not limited to the intestines, liver, colon, and ovaries. Out of all of these, we tend to confuse in the determination of appendicitis disease, unless, we pay attention to the pain Shannon was experiencing, along with inflammation.

Scenario The funding pitch went extremely well, and you just received word that your idea for the new product/service has been approved. In fact, senior management sent a memo, company-wide, announcing the project. One line in the memo really caught your attention: “We are eager to see the project to completion and the many other product offerings to come from this initiative.” You reach out to the project manager (PM) and are told that, typically, senior management expects to see product/service extensions or some type of next steps stemming from an original product. This could include different versions of the product/service, such as cheaper or premium versions, new targeted customers, and more. The PM also adds that senior management will look for contingency planning to protect the funding for the project. Prompt For your business continuity plan, consider your next steps, including project improvements and how to mitigate risk to the project to protect the product investment. To accomplish this, you must leverage employee and customer feedback on the new product/service. Advice to George and Lydia cheap essay help: cheap essay help

Carefully read the passage from “The Veldt” by Ray Bradbury, and write an essay explaining what advice you would give to George and Lydia Hadley on how to become better parents.

“I don’t know anything,” he said, “except that I’m beginning to be sorry we bought that room for the children. If children are neurotic at all, a room like that-“

“It’s supposed to help them work off their neuroses in a healthful way.”

“I’m starting to wonder.” He stared at the ceiling.

“We’ve given the children everything they ever wanted. Is this our reward-secracy, disobedience?”

“Who was it who said, ‘Children are carpets, they should be stepped on occasionally’? We’ve never lifted a hand. They’re insufferable- let’s admit it. They come and go when they like; they treat us as if we were offspring. They’re spoiled and we’re spoiled.”

“They’ve been acting funny ever since you forbade them to take the rocket to New York a few months ago.”

“They’re not old enough to do that alone, I explained.”

“Nevertheless, I’ve noticed they’ve been decidedly cool toward us since.”

“I think I’ll have Dave McClean come tomorrow morning to have a look at Africa.”

“But it’s not Africa now, it’s Green Mansions country and Rima.”

“I have a feeling it’ll be Africa again before then.”

A moment later they heard the screams.
Two screams. Two people screaming from downstairs. And then a roar of lions.

“Wendy and Peter aren’t in their room,” said his wife.

He lay in his bed with his beating heart. “No,” he said. “They’ve broken into the nursery.”

“Those screams-they sound familiar.”

“Do they?”

“Yes, awfully.”

to determine if you can recommend buying or selling a stock, you first must understand how the company has performed recently. Would you want to invest in a company that has had negative earnings for the past 3 years? What about a company that has increased the amount of debt on its balance sheet? Or, would you prefer to invest in a company that has had consistent increases in revenues or net earnings over the past 3 years? As the equity analyst, your first task would be to determine the evidence of patterns in the recent financial performance. The financial analysis provides significant insight into the company’s strengths and weaknesses. To fully understand a company’s financial performance, you cannot “evaluate performance using numbers alone. This level of analysis does not involve an understanding of the cause of performance…an analyst must look beyond the numbers” (Hickman et al., 2013, Section 11.3, para. 7). Part 5: Common size balance sheets (one paragraph) Evaluate the trends in total current assets as a percent (%) of total assets, total current liabilities as a percent (%) of total assets, long-term debt as percent (%) of total assets, and total shareholders’ equity as a percent (%) of total assets over the past 3 years. Part 6: Cash flow (one paragraph) Calculate simple cash flow for the past 3 years. Show your calculations. Summarize the trend in simple cash flow for the past 3 years. Compare the simple cash flow to the net operating cash flow from the statement of cash flows for the past 3 years. Part 7: Financial analysis conclusion: (one paragraph) Determine the strengths and weaknesses of the company based primarily on the trends in items discussed from the income statements, balance sheets, common size income statements, and common size balance sheets, as well as the comments on cash flow. Create a table that indicates whether each financial fact is a strength or a weakness. Determine the overall financial strength of the company based on the financial facts included as strengths or weaknesses. I believe that what goes on in another person’s house is their business not my own, as long as no physical or emotional harm comes to others.

Pornography is often defined as sexually explicit material intended to cause sexual arousal. However, what is or what is not pornographic is debated and has been throughout time. Different people have different definitions for pornography, some claim it is a form of art and it can be seen as art in the painting and sculptures depicted throughout time. The most often criticism of pornography is based on moral grounds. The majority of adults in the United States believe that sexual materials lead to a breakdown of morals. Some see it as a power issue believing that it degrades women (and sometimes men) portraying them as the sexual playthings of men/women.

Some even believe that pornography is a cause of violence against women. There is no scientific cause and effect relationship between what people view and how they act. Although people object to sexual material they find offensive, many put more value on the principle of free speech and the protection of artistic expression. I am not the sexual deviance police but I feel that if it is against the law, then it is wrong. Moral laws and societal law are not always the same but violations occur in both spheres.

Prostitution is discussed as a sexually deviant behavior. Prostitution is more common in poor countries with a strong patriarchy and traditions that limit women’s ability to earn a living. Prostitution is most often viewed as a victimless crime. It is still outlawed in most all places in the United States. A live and let live attitude often causes people to overlook the victims in prostitution. Sex traders prey on prostitutes, children are too often involved, drugs and alcohol addiction are prevalent , families are hurt/misplaced, and lives are lost.

When financial resources are depleted and/or used to enjoy sexually deviant acts; when children are involved; when it leads to other acts of violence or unlawfulness; when someone is physically, and yes, emotionally injured; and, many other reasons sexual deviance is a social problem that needs to be addressed. The media, as with most social issues today, exploits all citizens through their reporting methods, advertisements, etc.

My rule-of-thumb for what constitutes social deviance and unlawfulness, stems in the feelings I have when I am subjected to news articles, pictures, advertisements, etc. If I watch a movie that is rated X and I have no misgivings, then I will not believe the actions to be wrong; however, if I am bothered by the feelings of remorse and violations from such activities then I will believe the actions to be wrong.

Personal opinion – maybe but remember most of the time the legalities of sexual deviance mean there can and should be charges made to cease and a desist the action.

Certain behaviors can either assist or hamper reaching financial goals . One such negative source is not controlling or being unaware of spending habits.

Did the extent and/or category of the money leak surprise you?

What might you do to control future money leaks?

Per your chosen or possible career path (position and geographic area), determine the average salary with this tool: Salary (Links to an external site.)
(Links to an external site.)

(Use lower band amount if entry-level . Entry-level is no or little previous work in the field).

Divide your salary by twelve. This is your monthly gross salary.

Once you obtain the salary information, calculate your actual taxes (make your own assumptions per your personal situation for deductions, etc.) via the Taxact calculator: Taxes (Links to an external site.)
(Links to an external site.)

Next, use the following Payroll Tax Calculator (Calculator (Links to an external site.)) to calculate your FICA deduction from your annual salary.

Take the employee amount (as your employer pays the other half) and combine it with the federal taxes derived in the above step. Deduct this amount from your yearly salary. This is your yearly “after-tax” yearly salary.

Divide the after-tax”salary by twelve to obtain the monthly after-tax salary.

What is the dollar difference between your monthly gross and your monthly after-tax salary?

Is the after-tax salary the amount you actually would take home?

Or could there be either more pre or post-tax deductions?

Please list some of the possible pre-tax deductions.

SJ – Module 7 Discussions essay help free: essay help free

Please provide YOUR personal FEEDBACK only to the following post!

Microsoft’s Atlanta division is looking for a Business Administrator to join their Azure team. This is a group role that is working on building a network that will be an internet platform capable of handling the 50 billion plus devices that will be connected in a few years. This job would be a great opportunity, working for a leading company in the technology field. The three quesitons I would ask in an interview are:

1. What are the changes iin the technology market that are going to require more devices to be connected via Microsoft?

The job description mentions that more devices will be connected within the next few years, and I uncovered this through market data from Microsoft, showing the growth of their networking. This question is important I believe because it will further explain the company’s growth.

2. Would this job be working against competitors to convert devices to Microsoft systems, or is it only devices originally equipped with Microsoft?

I know that Microsoft competes with companies such as Apple, Google, and Yahoo, and I am wondering if they think the users of these networks and devices will switch to Microsoft’s devices.

3. Could this job lead to working in different positions within Microsoft? If so, what are the positions?

Lastly, I think this question is beneficial to me, the person applying for the job, as to if this position will be more long term or short term. With the project working on things happening in the next few short years, will the postion still be needed after then?

A Legal Perspective on Athlete Screening and Disqualification Download A Legal Perspective on Athlete Screening and Disqualification

Assignment Fact Pattern: this fact pattern will be used for Assignments 3A1, 5A1 and 7A1.

Juan is a promising basketball player that shows exceptional skills. He is offered a scholarship to play Division I ball at State University. He is very excited for the opportunity, as he sees this as his ticket to fame and fortune. Sometimes when he plays ball he has a hard time catching his breath and has chest pain, but he attributes that to late night parties. He resolves to get more sleep and party less with his friends. Juan doesn’t mention this to anyone and has managed to pass the medical tests required for all athletes to play at State. The team plays very well and by January they are expected to win their conference and qualify for March Madness. After a monster triple double game Juan tells his coach that he had times on the court where he cannot catch his breath and feels dizzy. The coach tells him initially to rehydrate and get a good night’s sleep. The next day at practice Juan feels better but asks to see the team doctor, assuming that the coach spoke to him but he hadn’t. The team doctor is employed by the university and the associated hospital, The coach sees the doctor with Juan and at that point he tells the doc to “do the works to make sure Juan is good to go to play tomorrow.” This was overheard by Juan’s girlfriend Laura. The doctor does a quick examination on Juan. He notices that Juan’s heartbeat is erratic and draws some blood for some tests. Although he asked for the tests to be completed as soon as possible he doesn’t follow up with State’s hospital center, which is adjacent to campus. He doesn’t do any other tests. He hospital lab subsequently misfiles the blood as a standard order and does not complete the tests for two days. The day after meeting with the doctor Juan’s extended family drives up to watch him play. During warmups for the game, Juan suffers a cardiovascular event and collapses on the court. My writing process is pretty simple and straight forward. Because I have ADHD, I eliminate all distractions from my writing process.  I get everything I will need set up before I begin and then I will work in silence with as few of distractions as possible until I finish what I set out to accomplish. I also tend to work ahead of schedule, I find that writing under pressure is not a good situation for me as I panic and have lots of anxiety. This leads me to not write as good of a product as I am capable of. As far as making time, I build my writing or homework time into my schedule and make sure I stick to the plan when at all possible.  I try to look ahead at possible conflicts or situations that might become an issue and work around those prior to setting my schedule for writing that week.  I also take advantage of quiet time at school as well.  I arrive an hour before I am supposed to be here, just so that I can get things accomplished that I need to get accomplished, writing could be one of the items.
