Staffing shortages are at an all time high. The pandemic has caused burnout for many nurses. As a nurse manager essay help online free

Staffing shortages are at an all time high. The pandemic has caused burnout for many nurses. As a nurse manager it is important to be an advocate for employees to ensure there is adequate and safe staffing. During the height of the pandemic our manager offered an incentive. The incentive motivated employees to pick up extra shifts. “Shift pay is the practice of paying a premium to employees who work the less desirable hours a business must operate. The premium, also called a shift differential, compensates workers who are scheduled for a second or third shift” (Chron, 2017). Another option offered was participating in the “COVID pool.” This COVID pool was a two week contract that consisted of ten twelve-hour shifts, they did not have to be consecutive days. I participated in this contract and it was extremely worth it. I became more invested in work for those two weeks than I probably should have. I had all of the same patients which means I knew each of their oxygen requirements, what day of COVID they were on, every little change in their lab values, etc. Being consistent with patients is helpful for the nurse and the patient relationship. “Consistency of care means low variability in care from shift to shift, day to day, nurse to nurse, resident to resident, attending to attending, and patient to patient” (Commonwealth Fund, n.d.).  I believe during that time our manager effectively handled staffing shortages. She fought for us to continue to get incentives and opportunities. There were days and nights that she had to come in and work the floor because there was no one else available and she stepped up to the task. I know that managing during these times must be very stressful, but she has always found a solution.

However, you will want to plan your organization so your ideas connect and make sense to the reader. You may use either of the patterns from the previous two units. Also, you may look at the different patterns presented in Chapter 10 for ideas. As a bit of advice, the structure is shown in Chapter 10.9 under the heading “Structure of a Persuasive Essay” is a helpful model to look at.

4. Since this essay is more persuasive instead of argumentative, you do not have to do any formal research, but you should have explanations and support for any positions you offer.

5. The essay will be at least two full pages long but no more than four pages (unless you have your instructor’s permission to go over 4 pages). You will use the MLA formatting guidelines that you used in the previous essays.

6. Include a title for your essay.

7. After writing the essay, be sure to take the time to read it several times for revision and editing. It would be helpful to have at least one other person proofread it as well before submitting the assignment.

Self-care for Register Behavior Technician

The topic on self-care practices among registered behavior technicians emerged due to the need to address emotional exhaustion and burnout. The idea arose from practical experiences, colleagues’ insights, and extensive reading on challenges facing registered behavior technicians. Professionals in the field face several issues at their workplaces and personal lives that require proactive measures to enhance mental, emotional, and physical resilience (Hall et al., 2016). In this view, the topic portrays some of the biggest challenges in the work life of behavior technicians and the evidence-based solutions. For instance, registered behavior technicians may handle individuals with autism spectrum disorder and other complex conditions that require person-centered care (Slatyer et al., 2018). The scenarios make technicians vulnerable to work stress arising from social, personal, and organizational dimensions. Thus, addressing self-care for the group reinforces the group’s commitment to managing and coordinating patients’ care to optimize outcomes.

CMGTCB/555 Competency 2 – Reflection best college essay help: best college essay help

Analyzing the Quality User Story

As a project manager, you are most likely aware that depending on the type of project and the SDLC applied, system requirements may be developed differently. For example, many current projects use the Agile SDLC and build requirements based on user story format. A user story is essentially a use case that describes how a specific user would interact with a system. An example of a user story tied to a customer using an ATM might be, “As a customer of the bank, I need to be able to access my account from an ATM to understand balances across all of my accounts.”

Reflect on the following:

What are the attributes that comprise a quality user story, and why are these attributes necessary? Consider the result of poorly written user stories.

Provide an example of what you would consider to be a quality user story. This example can be from experience, from a company you know of, or one that you create.

Driving User Adoption of New and Changed System

As a senior systems analyst or project manager, you are most likely aware that implementing a new system, or modifying an existing one, can create organizational change. This change can impact how employees work, how information technology teams support the business, and even how customers interact with the organization. Ensuring users adopt new systems or changes to existing systems is critical, as implementing a system no one will use becomes a wasted investment. User adoption should be considered by the business stakeholders no later than during the design phase.

Company is Apple Inc essay help

In this assignment, you will recalculate the value of the company’s stock based on your company’s specific required rate of return. To do this, you will calculate the required rate of return for your chosen publicly traded company using the capital asset pricing model (CAPM).
Last week, you determined a preliminary estimate of the company’s stock price using the constant growth formula. To simplify the calculation, you were required to use general market required rates of return, based on size. However, this is an assumption that does not account for the specific risk of an investment in a specific company. This week, you will calculate the required rate of return for your chosen publicly traded company using the CAPM. The CAPM is a more precise tool to estimate a firm’s required rate of return. This tool is “tremendously valuable because required returns are used as the discount rates in the valuation formulas when doing time value of money problems and security valuation” (Hickman et al., 2013, Section 9.3, para. 1). You will then use this CAPM required rate of return to revise your stock price value based on the constant growth formula. This will allow you to determine your final recommendation of buy, hold, or sell.

Prepare:

Prior to beginning work on this assignment,

Complete both of the Week 4 learning activities

Review Chapters 7 and 9 of Essentials of finance.

Review the Week 5 – Final Project.

Review the Week 4 Model Assignment (Links to an external site.).

Watch the following video:

BUS401 – Valuation Conclusion (Links to an external site.)

Write:

In your paper, address the following five parts in a Word document:

Part 1: (two paragraphs)

Explain the three types of risk and beta, and how these concepts relate to a company’s required rate of return.

Part 2: (two paragraphs)

Find your company’s beta from a credible source.

You can get this information from the Mergent database or by looking it up on a financial website like Yahoo! Finance (Links to an external site.).

Compare your company’s beta to the market beta of 1.0.

Calculate the company-specific required rate of return using the CAPM formula.

Show all calculations.

Use the beta you determined for your chosen company

Use a risk-free rate of 2.0%.

For the market risk premium, use the following assumptions:

For a large capitalization company (greater than $10.0 billion in market capitalization) use 6.0% as the market risk premium.

For a mid-cap company (between $2.0 billion and $10.0 billion in market capitalization) use 8.0% as the market risk premium.

For a small-cap company (less than $2.0 billion in market capitalization) use 11.0% as the market risk premium.

Compare the company-specific required rate of return you calculated to the required return based on size you used in Section 3: Dividend Analysis and Preliminary Valuation in Week 3 for the constant growth formula.

Determine whether the company-specific required rate of return higher or lower than the rate of return based on size that you used in Section 3 in Week 3 for the constant growth formula?

Explain the difference in required rate of returns.

Part 3: (two to four paragraphs)

Recalculate both estimates (the low-end and the high-end) of the stock price using the constant growth formula.

Use the company’s specific required rate of return you determined using the CAPM.

Review your selected high-end and low-end growth rates from Week 3.

If either growth rate is higher than the new CAPM discount rate, you must reduce your selected growth rate(s).

Your growth rates cannot be higher than the discount rate, because the calculations will result in a negative stock price, which is not meaningful.

Include a short, written explanation to explain the revised growth rates.

Show your revised high-end and low-end stock price calculations

Compare each of the two recalculated stock prices to the current stock price per share of the company.

State whether each recalculated stock price (low-end and high-end) is above or below the current market price.

State whether each recalculated stock price (low-end and high-end) indicates if the stock price is currently under-valued or over-valued in the market.

(See Section 9.3: Required Returns in your course text.)

State your recommendation for your concluded stock price for the company.

Use either the high-end stock price or the low-end stock price from the constant growth formula using the CAPM required rate of return.

Justify the conclusion of value for your stock based on the most important financial facts from the prior weeks’ analysis.

Design plays a major role in how investors and other audiences respond to your pitch deck, but for one startup, achieving near perfection in their slide design did not create a pathway to success. Wattage Inc. was pitched as a modular electronics company that would allow users to design their own electronic equipment from modular parts, add art and other customized pieces, and have it shipped directly to them. To take a massive market—consumer electronics—and add a customization element was incredibly ambitious. The deck made for an aesthetically pleasing failure.25 Potential investors would not open their checkbooks, but would smile and suggest that these guys could always go into business making pitch decks for other startups.26 The innovation that promised to make us all inventors failed, at least for now, but it can teach us many lessons about developing pitches. View Wattage’s pitch deck to learn more (the deck has been added as a link here and in the module).

Respond to the following questions. You should respond with detailed answers – not a two sentence response.

Can great design hurt a pitch presentation? How, or if no, why not?

What do you think was missing if investors loved the pitch deck, appreciated the tactile prototypes, and yet decided not to invest?

There is a “go-big-or-go-home” sentiment to this kind of startup that tries to shake up a massive marketplace. After visiting these links and reviewing what Wattage Inc. was trying to build, could you come up with a scaled-down or more focused version of the concept that might work? One issue with this type of startup is that it can only target very large investors. How might you build different pitch decks targeting different types of investors (electronics investors, those who invest in value-added customization products, modular tech enthusiasts, and so on)?

Illustrate a basic process flow diagram for Harvest.

How does Harvest generate revenue? What are Harvest’s costs?  Include those costs and revenue sources on the process flow diagram.

What is the key profitability driver for Harvest, i.e., what drives greater profits?

How many tons of waste does the plant need to process per year in order to break even? What would be the potential profit (or loss) if the plant operates at capacity? (Hint, find the marginal revenue/costs per ton, and the fixed costs per year to find the break-even quantity. Use the provided assumptions and formulas to capture variable costs/variable revenue/fixed costs to support your decision.)

Compare/contrast the pre-processing and source separation options. What are the pros and cons of each?

How does preprocessing or source separation change the process flow? Illustrate two new process flow diagrams for the pre-processing and source separation options and include on the diagrams for each option the new costs and revenue sources (if any).

How many tons of waste does each option need to process per year in order to break even? (Same process as above.)

Which option would you recommend and why?

Definitions of and hints for avoiding plagiarism can be found at https://wp.odu.edu/plagiarism/.

Assumptions/additional information

Benefits cost an additional 40% of an employee’s salary.

Assume straight line depreciation for equipment, i.e., total cost divided by expected years of use.

For those who might not remember capacity planning/cost-volume analyses, refer to the following formulas to help.

TC = total cost

FC = total fixed costs

VC = total variable costs

v = variable cost per unit

Q = quantity or volume of output

TR = total revenue

R = revenue per unit

QBEP = break-even point (quantity)

P = Profit

Total costs = total fixed costs total variable costs

TC = FC VC

Total variable costs = quantity*variable cost per unit

VC = Q*v

Total revenue = revenue per unit*quantity

TR = R*Q

Profit can be derived from any of the following:

Total revenue – total costs = P = TR – TC

Revenue per unit – (fixed costs variable cost per unit *quantity) = P = R*Q – (FC v*Q)

Quantity*(revenue per unit – variable cost per unit) – total fixed costs = P = Q(R – v) – FC

Break even quantity = fixed costs/(revenue per unit – variable cost per unit)

You will then analyze the minutiae of the collected fingerprints.
Procedure
Fill out the subject’s name, the date, and have the subject sign in the appropriate sections at the top of the FBI card.
Note: You may leave the remaining sections at the top of the FBI card blank.
Place the ink pad strip on the white paper and peel it apart into two pieces, exposing the ink.
Have the subject providing the fingerprints wash their hands with soap and water and thoroughly dry them with a clean towel.
Have the subject extend the right index finger and tuck all other fingers into the palm of the hand, as if pointing at something.
Use a free hand to press and roll the right index finger from left to right on the ink strip so that the finger is evenly coated in ink.
Note: The ink should cover the terminal digit of the finger to the edges of the fingernail. Pressing the finger too hard may fill the grooves of the fingerprint with ink. This will prevent you from obtaining a clear fingerprint to analyze.
Use your hands to position the right index finger over the blank sheet of paper to practice your rolling technique.
Place the left edge of the finger so that the edge of the nail is touching the paper.
Note: If you are fingerprinting an individual, you should stand to their left. When rolling the fingers, roll them away from your body.
Roll the finger from left to right, and then off the paper. See Figure 5.

Repeat step 5-10 for the right middle finger, right ring finger, and right little finger in their allotted spaces.
Have the subject extend the right thumb and tuck all other fingers into the palm of the hand, as if giving a thumbs-up.
Use a free hand to press and roll the right thumb from left to right on the ink pad so that the thumb is evenly coated in ink.
Roll the right thumb in box 1, labeled “R. THUMB,” from right to left, toward your body.
Wash the ink from the hands with soap and water.
Repeat steps 5-15 for the left hand.
Repeat step 5 to apply ink to the right thumb.
Press the right thumb print flat in the box on the bottom row of the fingerprint card labeled “R. THUMB.”
Repeat step 5 to apply ink to each of the four right-hand fingers.

Chapter 5/Spreadsheet Problem 5-24 (pg. 237-8)

This bond is a 20-year, 8% semiannual coupon bond with a par value of $1,000 may be called in 5 years at a call price of $1,040. The bond sells for $1,100. (Assume that the bond has been issued.) Please complete the partial model. You need the following to be answered.

What is the bond’s yield to maturity?
What is the bond’s current yield?
What is the bond’s capital gain or loss yield?
What is the bond’s yield to call?
How would the price of the bond be affected by a change in the going market interest rate? (Hit: Conduct a sensitivity analysis of price to changes in the going market rate for the bond. Assume the bond will be called if and only if the going rate of interest falls below the coupon rate. This is an oversimplification, but assume it for the purpose of this problem.)
Now assume the date is October 25, 2020. Assume further that a 12%, 10-year bond was issued on July 1, 2020, pays interest semiannually (on January 1 and July 1), and sells for $1,000. Use the attached spreadsheet to find the bond’s yield.

Hello, this is a annotated bibliography for my research topic proposal that I will be attaching so that you can reference it. I will be pasting all the instructions under this, but please read the directions carefully!

The purpose of this assignment is to demonstrate progress in compiling research and to indicate a methodology for organizing your research sources.

Include the following in your annotated bibliography:

APA citations and annotations for four (4) sources you deem relevant to answering your research question and addressing your thesis; however, you are only required to reference three (3) scholarly sources in your final research paper.
For each source:

List the source in proper APA format. The references should be organized in alphabetical order by author as on an APA bibliography page.

contrast the different ways that Zuo Tradition 左傳 (choose one entry from Owen, pp. 77-81) and Schemes of the Warring States 戰國策 (story of Yu-rang from Owen, pp. 82-83) depict historical events and people. essay help

Answer all three of the following questions, based on your own reading of the texts, rather than any external sources. You can choose one or two passages from Zuo Tradition to compare to the story of Yu-rang from Schemes.

1. What is the overall point of the story being told in each account, according to your reading of them?
2. What is the relationship between the individual people and the events in each story? Which do you think is more important in each story? (By “relationship” I mean, which do you think takes precedence in the story? Are the people just there to illustrate the significance of the events, or do the events unfold because of the choices made by the people?)
3. Why do you think the relationship between people and events differs in Zuo Tradition vs. Schemes of the Warring States? You can relate your answer to what you think the overall purpose of these two works is.

In providing your answer for each question, justify your answer by referring to details from the stories. You can either summarize those details in your own words, and/or provide brief quotations directly from the passages (no need for footnotes). Remember, there are no right or wrong answers here, but you should provide answers that are supported by the text itself. See the attached rubric for grading criteria.

(1) The fashion industry in the United States is a multibillion-dollar sector that is propelled by societal influences as well as economic considerations. In a society where this is not always feasibl college admissions essay help

In a society where this is not always feasible, fashion and clothing allow people to freely express themselves and increase their creativity. Creativity may help businesses get an edge in the marketplace, and it can also help society find new ways to improve the quality of life (Casey and O’Brien 2020).
According to Georg Simmel, fashion was a way for various classes to show how different they were from one another. In the early 1900s, the clothes worn by upper-class people could be used to identify them as part of a social rank. Many people from the lower classes did not have access to select their clothing and would end up wearing what was donned by their employers. Simmel classified cultures and confined the idea of fashion to the upper classes. He also mentioned how people from the lower classes wore clothes but had no fashion.
People are fortunate in that the style they pick nowadays is widely accepted. Fashion is used to differentiate individuals, but it may also be used to identify oneself as a member of a certain group. Moreover, people use fashion to exhibit their personality, connect to their identity, and as a self-expression tool. Clothes may aid in a person’s feeling of self-identification. Girls, for example, can put on different outfits and materialize an older persona, delivering a sensory experience that allows them to investigate the actual changes that will occur in their bodies (Blanchard-Emmerson 2021).
Capitalism has opened a whole new perspective for fashion, making it no longer confined to higher classes. In addition, there are codes of clothing that people consciously or unconsciously follow depending on the circumstances.  In conclusion, fashion in impactful in society because what one wear matters and there is an abundance of options to choose from.
(2)
Georg Simmel explains that fashion’s importance is related to one’s identity. It allows us to nonverbally show the world what group we fit into the most while at the same time showing the group we identify with, what sets us apart from the everyday group member (Aspers and Godart 2013). By this, I mean an individual will try their best to dress in a way that will ensure their acceptance within a group, but they will also alter their appearance to allow them to stand apart from others. I think the main reason the United States has such an extensive fashion industry is rooted in what Simmel expresses to be one of the main ways we present ourselves in society. Today we use fashion as a way of self-expression. It allows us to nonverbally show our personalities and beliefs to everyone who views us. It is sometimes even encouraged to dress a particular way to gain acceptance into a specific group or job occupation. For example, you’ve probably heard of the expression “dressing for the job you want.” Phrases such as these come about because fashion is essential to who we are and how we present ourselves. Over the years, fashion has become more than just an expression of ourselves. It has also become a reflection of our society’s beliefs, struggles, and growth (Obukhova, Zuckerman and Zhang 2014).

After reading the WP #5 instructions. the textbook chapter on writing proposals, and the LECTURE, you may be scratching your head and thinking: “What do I know about building a parking lot on a college campus? Furthermore, what does my professor know about building a parking lot?” Well, most likely, the answer is nothing, zero, nada, blank, absolutely nothing! How in the world am I going to complete an internal proposal, complete with six different parts on a subject I know nothing about? Good question! Students should start with a list. You will first need to make a list of items needed to fill in each part of the assignment components. Prepare yourself for some research, and research means TIME INVESTED. Here are the six headings you will need to research in order to complete the proposal parts: P. 1 – Transmittal Letter (cover letter), (one page) P. 2 – Executive Summary, (half page to one page) P. 3 – Internal Proposal: Introduction, Body and Conclusion, (three pages) P. 6 – Cost Analysis, (half page to one page) P. 7 – Timeline, or schedule of delivery, (half page to one page) P. 8 – Description of Vendor (one page) What information will I need for each category of the proposal? Where, on the Brewton Parker campus will I build the new parking lot? That should be the first question. The answer will be used in every part of the proposal–cover letter, costs, timeline, and all parts of the proposal, including the introduction, body and conclusion. Now that you have an idea of WHERE the parking lot will be built, what do you need to do to the property in order to prepare it for building or grading, or pouring? Well, do you know anyone that has built a parking lot? What companies build parking lots? You are representing the company that will do this, so you should name your company before writing the proposal.

Data Collection-10 points 1. Pick a show/movie/TV/politician/leader/news person/speaker (e.g., TED talk) and identify target person and a target behavior. essay help online free

Data Collection-10 points
1. Pick a show/movie/TV/politician/leader/news person/speaker (e.g., TED talk) and identify target person and a target behavior. The target behavior should be appropriate for all and make sure your partner has easy (at no additional cost) access to it. If you doubt the behavior’s appropriateness, then stay away from that behavior! I would recommend picking video clips/segments without any commercials.
a. Identify a behavior that is frequently seen on the show, so that its easier for you to collect ample data.
b. It doesn’t have to be a “problem” behavior, it can be any observable behavior.
c. You may use a long video clip and want to break it down into five sessions. Or, you may find five different episodes (same actor/character, same behavior) and code first 10 minutes from each.
d. You may pick a behavior and observe it across multiple people in the show.
e. Following target behaviors are NOT allowed. Failure to adhere to this instruction will result in zero credit for part A of this assignment:
i. looking/staring/talking to camera (The Office); singing, drink consumption, smoking, saber use from any “Star Wars” movies, any filler pauses (um, uh), phone use, saying any type of catch phrase/name, hair-touching, or eating.
2. Create an operational definition for the behavior: objective, observable, and measurable.
a. Make sure to define in a way that another person observing this person would know exactly when the behavior occurs and does not occur. Include examples and non-examples.
b. Everyone perceives behavior differently. If your definition is vague or unclear, the observer will likely need to use his or her own judgement when scoring the behavior which may lead to low interobserver agreement.
3. Next, identify a measurement system that best captures that behavior.
a. Don’t use frequency system by default. Decide the measurement system based on the dimension of behavior.
b. Each observation session should be minimum 7 minutes.
c. Include 5 observation sessions.
4. Make sure to keep a note of the precise beginning and ending time of the video segment for each observation.

Scoring Guide:
Criterion Point value
Definition is clear, objective, observable, and measurable. Examples and non-examples are included. 5
Measurement system is described well, matches the dimension of the behavior, and data are reported appropriately. Minimum of five observation sessions and each session is 7 minutes minimum. Do not include video time stamps. 5

Part B
Data Display-24 points
1. This assignment continues from part A and should also be done independently.
2. To have decent amount of data to detect behavior change and for IOA opportunities, behavior must occur for at least 50% of time/intervals in each session, or with frequency above 15, across all sessions or on average. 10 points will be deducted if you do not have data set as per this parameter.
3. Create an ABAB graph using the data collected from part A (which will serve as baseline) and hypothetical data for next 3 phases. You must provide enough hypothetical data to illustrate a functional relationship between the behavior and intervention. This often means at least 5 data points per condition (you can add hypothetical data to baseline if you do not have stable data).

Outline
I. Introduction
a) Cybercrime is destructive; therefore, there is a need for regulatory and law enforcement agencies to handle the vice. b) To better understand the factors that influence cyber security efforts set to curb the effects of cybercrime, we need to understand the following subtopics.
II: Nature of Cybercrime
a) It is critical for a study on cyber security to understand the way cybercrime operates. First, the student needs to understand online behavior among the population. b) Moreover, the student needs to get an insight into the impacts of cybercrime through online victimization(Hoff-de Geode et al., 2021). This information comes from study reviews, literature, and articles.c) Moreover, the best information comes from research into the effects of cybercrime. At this point, the student needs to carry out experimental studies that use efficient instruments. d) In return, the findings will give good insight into online behavior and online victimization.
III. Evolution of Cybercrime
a) Cybercrime is slowly gaining acceptability in society. In fact, cybercrime has moved from a destructive practice into a money-making venture. b) Currently, cybercrime is a service that is supplied in markets as a business venture. In addition, cybercrime is acceptable in society resulting in reduced attacks by law enforcement(Akyazi et al., 2021). Today, apps offer platforms for transactions to supply cybercrime services.c) Also, the channels are influenced by market dynamics, such as the shift in demand and supply. The dynamics that revolve around the evolution of cybercrimes affect the security mechanisms set to curb the effects of cybercrime activities.
IV: Conditions Encouraging Growth of Cybercrimes
a) In this section, the activity involves understanding the infrastructure that supports cybercrime. From this, the study will get insight into what makes the cybercrime practice thrive and evolve. b) Thereafter, the conditions that allow stability and growth of cybercrime help with addressing security concerns such as privacy and victimization (Bohme et al., 2021). c) Moreover, knowing the productive aspects of cybercrime will help with issues that cause cybercrime victimization. d) Furthermore, the conditions that foster stability may lead to the emergence of new cybercrime activities; therefore, altering the conditions helps with security techniques.
V: Conclusion
a) Cybercrime has evolved over the years and leads to online victimization. b) There are conditions that encourage cybercrime growth including favorable infrastructure.

Week 7 Discusion 1 essay help online: essay help online

1)  Let’s start by defining the following terms.

   a.  Basic earnings per share.

   b.  Potentially dilutive security.

    c. Diluted earnings per share.

    d. Complex capital structure.

    e. Potential common stock.

2)  Why are preferred dividends deducted from net income when calculating EPS? Are there circumstances when this deduction is not made?

Answer–

Preferred stock holders have a priority in receiving dividends before common stock holders. Also, preferred stock holders usually get a fixed rate of dividend every year irrespective of company’s profits. Due to this reason, we need to deduct preferred dividends from net income when calculating Basic EPS.

This deduction is not made when we calculate Diluted EPS in case of convertible preferred stock. However, this increases the denominator (since weighted outstanding diluted common shares will also include convertible preferred shares).

Cameron Bly is a sales manager for an automobile dealership. He earns a bonus each year based on revenue from the number of autos sold in the year less related warranty expenses. Actual warranty expenses have varied over the prior 10 years from a low of 3% of an automobile’s selling price to a high of 10%. In the past, Bly has tended to estimate warranty expenses on the high end to be conservative. He must work with the dealership’s accountant at year-end to arrive at the warranty expense accrual for cars sold each year.

Does the warranty accrual decision create any ethical dilemma for Bly?

Since warranty expenses vary, what percent do you think Bly should choose for the current year? Justify your response

REVISE

NEED 2 PG

Police “Crackdowns” Police crackdowns form part of strategic-oriented policing. This method of policing has also been called maintenance policing, broken windows policing and zero-tolerance policing. The concept of police crackdowns is to lower crime in a specific area through the use of police presence. These crackdowns have been shown to work only for short periods of time due to because they do not target the cause of the problem. However, the implementation of these programs help the community figure out new ways to fight crime.

Strategic-oriented policing is the motivation for all of the community policing programs (p.71). Police crackdowns implement tactics to deter a high crime area. The implementation of police force then brings the neighborhood together to figure out the root of the problem. When the neighborhood becomes aware of the problems, they begin to come up with solutions and share those with the police. The police then becomes involved in the neighborhood’s plan and community policing begins. There are 3 problems with the implementation of police crackdowns: the short duration effect, the direct effect on the community’s and the effect on the community’s perception of community policing (p.66).

The short duration of the deterrence of crime is due to the police only targeting the crime. In a New York study, where police crackdowns where implemented city wide, the crime rates went down significantly but begin to rise after short periods of time (p.66). Police presence can definitely slow down criminals, but only for a while. Once the police leaves, or criminals figure out a way around the police, crime rates will return back to normal.

The community also gets affected by police crackdowns. The neighborhood becomes a target to the police and the life of the residents also gets affected. Waking up to a large number of police units in your neighborhood certainly can shake up someone’s daily routine. Also, not knowing what the police is after can make people paranoid. People do not like sudden changes, going from almost zero police presence to cop’s city can definitely be a shock to people.

Another problem on police crackdowns is the effect that it can have on the community’s attitude towards the police (p.67). Many minority communities feel directly targeted by the police and consequently stop trusting them. This issue arises due to the lack of communication from the police to the community. While crackdowns are an effective way of crime deterrence, they can create fear because not everyone knows how police crackdowns work. In fact, the majority of people have no idea what a police crackdown is. Educating the community about the importance of police crackdowns can significantly reduce the fear in the communities.

Crackdowns are a good way to deter crime and get the community involved. Once the community gets involved in creating a long term solution for crime then community policing begins. Crackdowns promote Problem-Oriented Policing methodology, which is fundamentally a strategy for analyzing community problems and that part of the solution to them will be given by the context (p.71). The actual crackdowns are not the solution to crime, but rather promote a change in mentality. This tactic is often used by police commanders because it require proactive police officers with analytical skills and a strategic view of police work.

It is important to mention that the police has been evolving through the years and the use of different policing styles has helped them identify what works and what doesn’t. The use of various techniques such as police crackdowns has contributed to obtaining knowledge necessary to apply into creating new police initiatives. Different police methods such as NeighborhoodOriented Policing have been created and have shown to be much more effective (p.75).

Neighborhood-Oriented Policing combines different approaches to reduce crime and promote the community’s participation into crime reduction programs (p.73). This policing style, in my opinion, is more effective because it creates a bond with the community and it helps the police identify problems and solutions even faster. The general objective of this police style is to act against criminal behavior early in order to provide citizens with a surveillance service, and promote joint action with the members of the community through management in solving security and coexistence problems.

Finally, it should be noted that talking about social prevention of violence and crime is talking about processes of transformation and individual, family and community strengthening, which allow peaceful coexistence, improved security conditions and a better quality of life. The active participation of police, academic institutions, the media and, especially, citizenship is of utmost importance for success.

Some people strongly favor term limits for governmental officials. The U.S. practice regarding this issue a level english language essay help: a level english language essay help

Some people strongly favor term limits for governmental officials. The U.S. practice regarding this issue differs among the three branches of government. There are term limits on the presidency, for instance, but none for members of Congress. For the Supreme Court, there are no term limits on justices, and they are never required to win election or re-election. Once appointed by the president, justices may serve for life. Thurgood Marshall, the great Supreme Court justice, was 81 years old when a reporter asked him when he planned to retire. Marshall responded, “I have a lifetime appointment and I intend to serve it. I expect to die at 110 . . .”

In this Discussion, you will analyze strengths and weaknesses of lifetime appointments of Supreme Court justices and whether or not you believe lifetime appointments have a positive impact on American democracy.

To prepare for this Discussion:

Review the Interactive Units from this week’s Learning Resources.

Review the article on term limits for judges in the Learning Resources.

Consider how Supreme Court justices are chosen, including the specific role of the president and Congress.

Reflect on why Supreme Court justices have lifetime appointments.

Consider how lifetime appointments aid or deter the decisions of Supreme Court justices and why.

What are the risks of not providing lifetime appointments?

How does the makeup of the Supreme Court affect its group decision making?

Include at least one reference and citation from the course readings and one reference and citation from an article found in the Walden Library to support your rationale.

With these thoughts in mind:

By Day 3

Post a 2- to 3-paragraph analysis of two strengths and two weaknesses of lifetime appointments for Supreme Court justices. Be sure to include a rationale for why the Supreme Court justices should or should not have lifetime appointments.

Be sure to support your ideas by connecting them to the week’s Learning Resources, or something you have read, heard, seen, or experienced.

Read a selection of your colleagues’ postings.
