The Great War Essay best college essay help

The Great War Assignment consists of two parts. The first requires synthesis of information. The second part is to demonstrate an understanding of the JSTOR Daily summary on The Fable of the Fourteen Points (secondary source analysis). Base your answers on the assignment material. Avoid outside sources. Answer in your own words and be sure to quote when you use another’s words.

Part I: Synthesis:
The United States claimed to be neutral during WWI. Was it really neutral in its actions? Explain the evidence that it favored one side over the other? Why did Germany resume unrestricted submarine warfare?

Part 2: Secondary Source Analysis – JSTOR Daily:
As we have seen in this course, the principle job of historians is to interpret the past. They not only try to understand the basics elements of “what really happened,” but they try to understand why things happened the way they did. This is difficult work and often results in disagreements between historians about how best to interpret a particular event, an historical process, or an entire era. The end of the WWI and Wilson’s support for self-determination (or lack of support for self-determination) is one area where debate has emerged.
Read Matthew Wills’ “Fable of the Fourteen Points,” which is a summary of the scholarly journal article by the same name by Trygve Throntveit. The “Fable of the Fourteen Points” introduces the debate over Wilson’s vision for the post-war world. Throntveit’s recent research adds to the conversation about Wilson’s vision and seeks to correct past misconceptions. Be sure to base your answer to the following question on the “Fable of the Fourteen Points.” Do not use outside information.
1) How does historian Trygve Throntveit’s argument differ from the older common view of Wilson’s vision for after the war? State the other common view (the way that both people at Wilson’s time and since have viewed Wilson’s purpose). Next, state Throntveit’s argument and reasons for his conclusions. In other words, why does Throntveit argue that Wilson’s “self-determination” is a legend?

Elaborate. b) In your opinion, should there be uniform national guidelines or recommendations that dictate how much money states should allocate for police, court, and corrections functions? Why or why not? Your suggestion should be creative, yet also realistic. It should also be evident that you have an understanding of key aspects and terms from Mears’ book. d) Next, in his book, Mears points out that whenever a parent is incarcerated, he or she often returns back to society less able to provide emotional or financial support to his or her children. How can we be leaders and learn to coach others in our work environment? In our church environment? Biblical essay help

How can we be leaders and learn to coach others in our work environment? In our church environment?

Biblical PerspectiveBiblical Perspective
Training and Development – Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah by Dr. Carol Kurkowski
Often times when faced with uncertain situations, we respond to God that we cannot do a certain task because we feel we are not equipped to do the task. In reality, it takes the surrender of your heart and personal will to allow God to use you–He will equip you for what He has called you to do. If you look at several characters in the Bible, they felt inadequate, but God used them for His purpose. Today let’s look at an unlikely group of teenagers that were certainly not ready for the task they were thrown into. You may know them by other names.
Daniel 1:6-7 (New International Version): 6 Among those who were chosen were some from Judah: Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah. 7 The chief official gave them new names: to Daniel, the name Belteshazzar; to Hananiah, Shadrach; to Mishael, Meshach; and to Azariah, Abednego (NIV).
Now you know that I am talking about Belteshazzar, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego; but let’s call them by their real names: Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah. They were exiled from their homes and thrown into a new lifestyle to be “trained” up in the Babylonian way of life. The most amazing thing is that their foundation was with the Lord, so their training started with God’s Word. They were able to follow God even with new indoctrination. The four teenagers were asked to eat foods that they disagreed with, God helped in the situation by causing the chief official to show favor to them.
Daniel 1:8-10 (NIV) 8 But Daniel resolved not to defile himself with the royal food and wine, and he asked the chief official for permission not to defile himself this way. 9 Now God had caused the official to show favor and compassion to Daniel.
The four teenagers listened and learned what the Babylonians were expecting of them, but they did not go against what God expected of them. It is so important that as followers of Christ, we continually learn. We must be “lifetime learners.” As lifetime learners, we should continue to learn, we don’t just arrive and know all there is to know. God also gives us wisdom and knowledge if we seek it and ask. God will equip us.
Daniel 1:17-20 (NIV) 17 To these four young men God gave knowledge and understanding of all kinds of literature and learning. And Daniel could understand visions and dreams of all kinds. 18 At the end of the time set by the king to bring them into his service, the chief official presented them to Nebuchadnezzar. 19 The king talked with them, and he found none equal to Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah; so they entered the king’s service. 20 In every matter of wisdom and understanding about which the king questioned them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and enchanters in his whole kingdom.
Throughout the book of Daniel the four teenagers grow in their training, knowledge, and maturity as followers of God. Daniel finds himself having his life threatened numerous times. He interprets dreams. He even gets thrown into a lion’s den. These four young men utilized their training and overall development to stay strong.
Daniel 2:17-23 (NIV) 17 Then Daniel returned to his house and explained the matter to his friends Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah. 18 He urged them to plead for mercy from the God of heaven concerning this mystery, so that he and his friends might not be executed with the rest of the wise men of Babylon. 19 During the night the mystery was revealed to Daniel in a vision. Then Daniel praised the God of heaven 20 and said:
“Praise be to the name of God for ever and ever;
wisdom and power are his.
21 He changes times and seasons;
he deposes kings and raises up others.
He gives wisdom to the wise
and knowledge to the discerning.
22 He reveals deep and hidden things;
he knows what lies in darkness,
and light dwells with him.
23 I thank and praise you, God of my ancestors:
You have given me wisdom and power,
you have made known to me what we asked of you,
you have made known to us the dream of the king.”
Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah (or Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego) faced being thrown in the fiery furnace where their amazing growth, training, and knowledge in God allowed them to face the dangers and still profess God. Daniel 3, shares the adventure of the three men. They did not know how it was going to turn out, but they had been equipped and trained by God and they knew God would be there.

n December 2, 2015, a terrorist attack, consisting of a mass shooting and an attempted bombing, occurred at the Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino, California. The perpetrators, Syed Rizwan Farook and Tashfeen Malik, a married couple living in the city of Redlands, targeted a San Bernardino County Department of Public Health training event and Christmas party of about 80 employees in a rented banquet room. During the FBI investigation into the shooting, a locked iPhone belonging to Farook was recovered and the FBI attempted to get Apple to assist in accessing the phone by cracking the encrypted security programmed into the iPhone. Apple refused and the FBI had to utilize external sources (i.e. hackers) to get into the locked phone. Do you agree with Apple’s stance to not assist the FBI? Why or why not? Please, answer this question honestly and not what you think I might want to hear because of my former employment by the FBI. I want to read your well thought out, honest responses. Instructions
Provide a list and brief descriiption of at least six sources that you have identified for the paper. Two of these must be a primary source document and two must be an academic journal article. These should be specific sources, not just places where you can find sources. The goal here is to see that you have dug in a bit and actually found something that pertains to the issue you will be researching. Annotated bibliographies must be in APA style and should be submitted via the Assignments Folder.

If you are unfamiliar with annotated bibliographies, this guide may be useful: https://owl.purdue.edu/owl/general_writing/common_writing_assignments/annotated_bibliographies/index.html

In this essay, you will be analyzing and evaluating the causes of the American Revolution using both primary and secondary sources. college admission essay help

Instructions

Purpose

As we have seen in this unit, the origins of the American Revolution were complicated. While the Declaration of Independence has long been viewed as the beginning of the Revolution, in reality, the storm had been brewing for decades by the time Thomas Jefferson drafted the Declaration of Independence in 1776.

In this essay, you will be analyzing and evaluating the causes of the American Revolution using both primary and secondary sources.

In the process, you will be practicing one of the key skills in the historical thinking: evidence-based argumentation. Learning to make a clear argument that is supported by specific evidence is essential to the kind of critical thinking that your time in college should help you develop.

Task

Please ensure you read the following from the content of this unit:

Assigned Readings:

Ideas and Theories For and Against American Independence

Primary Source: The Rights of the British Colonies Asserted and Proved
Primary Source: Soame Jenyns and Samuel Johnson

Events Contributing to the Rise of an Independence Movement in the Colonies

see images below

“Bostonian’s Paying the Excise Man, or Tarring and Feathering. Philip Dawe, CC0, via Wikimedia Commons.”

“Boston Massacre as portrayed by Paul Revere. Not entirely an accurate depiction of the event that transpired. Engrav’d Printed & Sold by Paul Revere Boston. The print was copied by Revere from a design by Henry Pelham for an engraving eventually published under the title “The Fruits of Arbitrary Power, or the Bloody Massacre,” of which only two impressions could be located by Brigham. Revere’s print appeared on or about March 28, 1770., Public domain, via Wikimedia Commons.”

“This is the place to affix the stamp. Bradford, William, 1719-1791, publisher. Illus. in: The Pennsylvania Journal and Weekly Advertiser, 1765 October 24. From the Library of Congress: https://www.loc.gov/pictures/item/2004672606/.”

Then, in an essay of at least 5 paragraphs and 1000 words:

Identify the main arguments used by supporters and opponents of American independence and why each side thought their viewpoint was correct. Then, identify the events portrayed in each of the three images and explain why they occurred, and combined with what happened after each event, show how they encourage support for independence.

You should not limit yourself to discussing only these three events; simply use these three to help shape an analysis of various cause-effect relationships between the British and colonist actions.

Expectations and Criteria for Success

You should base your discussion with the information in the course content; outside research is not allowed. As always, be sure to keep track of where you find your information so that you can provide citations in your final essay. Citations must be formatted according to the MLA guidelines, including both in-text and a final source page. Guidelines for MLA can be found using the Purdue Owl or you can reference the Citation Help.pdf from the Start Here Module of the course.

Essays should be typed in 12-point font with a simple, clean font such as Times New Roman or Arial. Use 1″ inch margins on all sides and double-space the text.

Successful essays should be carefully organized, with strong thesis statements and specific evidentiary support from the primary sources themselves. Your introduction should include a clear statement of what you will argue in the essay (thesis statements are never questions). The body of the essay will include at least three paragraphs (though you can write more). Conclude by discussing the key conclusion you reached and why (remember not to use the first person in formal academic essays). Be sure to revise and edit carefully.

Please remember you should submit documents as JPG, PDF, RTF, PNG, DOC and DOCX only.  Other formats will not be accepted.  Also, please ensure documents are submitted vertically and not horizontally.  Incorrect submission formats could impact your grade.

Perform a response to:

Internally the exclusion of women is the norm. For example, India, as used in the PowerPoint last week, India is a country that values hierarchy and, in their culture, this is what works. This isn’t what has been accepted by their culture, and this is something other cultures will need to accept. In different cultures where there isn’t such a valued hierarchy, it makes it more appropriate to have as much as possible a diverse group of employees when applicable. Secondly, it’s important to advertise for job positions in places that bring various candidates to a socially acceptable area. In discrimination, there should be immediate consequences, so all employees know this is not tolerated.

Where a culture values collective action, it is essential to respect their opinions. If a particular member of a team did something exceptionally well then, their team should be commended. As a manager, it would be good to note this individual’s work to remember it during a review or potential promotion. A mention of the noticed work might be made in private if that seemed more fitting in addition to commending the team.

If there were a close friend or family member for a valued associate, then as the manager, it would be appropriate to look at a resume to determine if there is a place for them in your organization. If so, they should be encouraged to apply. Perhaps, if an interview is warranted, it will allow the hiring manager to compare with actual candidates truly.

I believe small tokens of appreciation for hard work, going above and beyond are ok. Therefore, these should be small monetary amounts. When gifts become of a large monetary amount, it can be viewed as bribery, which can damage the reputation of the manager and the organization.

I think it is always best for everything to work ethically, and something is working for one area/department and in a different culture; it shouldn’t go unnoticed and can be used as an example. That manager hopefully has good communication skills that can be used to share what is working in their area.

Project 1: Personal Research Guide

Introduction/Rationale

The personal research guide is an opportunity for you to begin to explore a professional or disciplinary discourse community you are joining or intend to join. Using primary and secondary research methods, you will explore the literacies of the discourse community by identifying significant genres, key experts, important publications, professional organizations and conferences, online presence, commonly employed research methods in the field, major topical or conversational trends from the last 5-10 years, and broad disciplinary values. You will use this exploration of key disciplinary and/or professional literacies to begin to develop research questions about the discourse community.

Assignment Prompt

Begin by identifying the disciplinary or professional discourse community you wish to enter and work through the knowledge you already have about the discourse community. Then, using Swales’ six characteristics of discourse communities as a heuristic (bulleted below) generate questions about the field’s purposes, discursive practices, genre conventions, etc. based on your knowledge gaps. What do you need to know or want to find out?

What are the “common public goals” of the discourse community?
How do members of the discourse community share ideas and information with each other?
What kinds of ideas and information do members of the discourse community share with each other?
What genres does the discourse community use to accomplish its goals?
What are some key features or examples of the lexis of the discourse community?
What are the parameters of membership in this discourse community? Who are key figures in the field?

From there, make contact with at least 1 working professional, scholar, or graduate student in the field to learn more about the key moves of this discourse community:

Interview a professional or academic in the field about key genres, commonly used research methods, recent major topics, important journal publications, professional organizations, web sources, and conferences. Follow up on that interview with your own research: (1) search for and review several examples of items mentioned in your interview and (2) research the topics or current events that are important in that discipline or profession.

Your research guide should articulate at least three major communicative practices used by members of the discourse community to accomplish their goals. These goals should reflect, or at least connect to, reading, writing, and research values uncovered during your meeting with the expert you interview.

Minimum Requirements

Once you have conducted your research and analysis, compose a 750-1000 word research guide that includes the following information:

Swales’ six characteristics of discourse communities as a heuristic that organizes the information you’ve gathered and formats the guide for easy reference
A definition of the discourse community in terms of its “common public goals” as understood both by a practicing member as well as any professional organizations associated with the specific discourse community.
At least three major communicative practices used by members of the discourse community to accomplish the above goals.
A list of prominent “participatory mechanisms” or venues where members publish, share, and discuss information. This includes the field’s major journals, conferences, databases, and other forums for important conversations in the discipline.
A descriiption of significant “mechanisms of intercommunication” or genres typically used by members of the discourse community to share, discuss, and critique new disciplinary information. This section should include specific examples, not just broad categories like “articles” or “websites” or general statements of topics like “issues in medicine.” Thus, for each genre described, students should reference a specific example and briefly highlight the major issues or topics addressed by the specific “mechanism” under review.
A descriiption of contemporary major topics of conversation as well as any significant changes in your chosen field of study that have taken place over the last 5-10 years. This section should also identify a short list of the most important terms, acronyms, and key words that make up the disciplinary vernacular.
2-3 of your own research questions about the contemporary major topics of your discourse community (as identified above). These questions and their revisions will continue to drive your research over the course of the semester.

Learning Objectives

Research

Use primary and secondary research methods to discover key disciplinary or professional genres, research methods, organizations, topics, etc.
Write

Describe key communicative practices using concrete evidence and examples from research.
Compose research questions that follow from this analysis and descriiption.
Work through careful revision and editing based on peer and teacher feedback and the student’s own review of and reflection on a draft.

I have to write a research paper on an “answerable clinical question.” The question follows a “PICO” format. That’s:

Patient or population
Intervention
Comparison
Outcome

I’ve attached my clinical question. This DOES NOT HAVE TO BE THE CLINICAL QUESTION, especially if it’s difficult to find sources. Feel free to alter it, however, I am interested in sleep and mental health.

The “EBM Search Strategy Directions” is only there if you need it. I’m sure you know how to look for sources.

THE OBJECTIVE FOR THIS PAPER IS TO GENERATE A LIST OF REFERENCES ONLY! I don’t need to write any part of the paper just yet. However, it will have to be completed by the end of the semester. I just don’t know how many pages will be required just yet. Once I get that information, I’ll request it as well at that time.
Important note: The references must be in AMA format.

From the instructor:
“Good resources are primary literature, systematic reviews, meta-analyses, and other resources like DynaMed and UpToDate.

For your search strategy and results, go to a website like PubMed.gov to conduct your search.

Start with “XYZ disease” and add to search box.
Then enter “another name for XYZ disease” and add to search box using the OR operand.
Then enter “experimental treatment term” and add to search box using the AND operand.
Then enter “standard treatment term” and add to search box using the AND operand.
Then enter “outcome of interest term” and add to search box using the AND operand.
Then enter “population of interest term” and add to the search box using the AND operand.

This covers all of the elements of a typical PICO question.

You may find it helpful to use the OR operand more frequently for additional names for your disease of interest.

Then click on search to see how many articles that you find.

Using the filters on the left of the screen, you can limit the retrieval of articles by:

age – the population that you are interested in evaluating: this could be younger adults, middle aged adults, adults 65
language – English (unless you are fluent in other languages)
others if appropriate
You could also limit the articles to the ones published over the past 10 years or so.

The object is to get some relevant articles (preferably <100) that you could read the abstracts or summaries rapidly to determine if they are relevant to what you are doing.

Submit your selected references that you will use to write your paper. This could change as you discover other articles. For other projects, it may be wise to search multiple databases (TRIP, CINAHL, Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews).”

Orwell’s writing does a number of excellent things in “Politics and the English Language.” We want to us this essay as one of many models for our research paper. The introduction of the essay, paragraphs 1 and 2 specifically, are doing a lot of work establishing both audience and topic. This first discussion board tasks you with unpacking how Orwell’s introduction works and then brainstorming your own potential paper topics. First, you must analyze Orwell and you’ve already been primed to read with these questions in mind: How does Orwell introduce – or construct? – his essay’s central topic? Who is Orwell’s audience and how can you tell? From here, you want to brainstorm topics for your future research: What are you interested in researching? Who would this conversation be directed towards? Aim for at least 3 different topics. Like Orwell does in his intro, you want to describe the topics/issues you are interested in pursuing. Don’t worry if your ideas are vague right now – it’s your first substantive assignment. When responding to 2 classmates of your choice, we want to practice contributing to plans. In your responses consider: Which topic seems the most practical? Which seems most exciting? How could your classmate better narrow the scope of 1 topic? 56

Over the past several years, many police departments have shifted from the traditional eight hour
shift to 10 and 12 hour shifts, in some cases ensuring that shifts overlap to provide increased
coverage during what are considered peak demand periods. The 10-12 hour models simplify
scheduling and many officers enjoy what they perceive as increased leisure time. Some research
suggests that these extended shifts increase stress and burnout and create officer safety issues
related to boredom and fatigue. Taking the role of a police executive, review and discuss the

Linguistics course! Project #1: Pronunciation Analysis Objective: Analyze spoken language samples to identify non-target production and recommend changes to improve comprehensibility. Instructions Li essay help online free: essay help online free

Instructions
Listen to a nonnative English-speaking individual reading an elicitation paragraph (a paragraph that is designed for analysis of pronunciation). Draft a transcription of the passage. Identify errors and outline an appropriate action plan in a brief report. (3-4 double-spaced pages)
Page 1: Intro paragraph explaining the purpose of the paper (to analyze nonnative articulation in English and identify key sounds for modification). You set the tone/stage for the paper discussing the informant’s production, overall comprehensibility, and challenges.
Page 2: Transitional paragraph/section leading into the chart, which should delineate the key sounds. The table shouldn’t take more than  a page, if that, so don’t make it huge. Neatness and clarity of information count! You can explain in more detail in the summation of findings.
Pages 3-4: Analytical summation of the findings (e.g. paragraph per sound with brief explanation of what is going on and what needs to change). Summative concluding paragraph tying the report together and making recommendations for future work.
Steps to follow:
Where the sounds appear not to match standard English, make a note.
Review the words in which the pronunciation appears to diverge from Standard English (those that are so challenging that you would have a little trouble recognizing the word without having seen the transcript).
Identify three problem areas in terms of isolated sounds that appear to be challenging for the (e.g. problems with /r/ or problems with /i/ or problems with /f/ etc. Each discrete sound counts as one of four problem areas.)
Brainstorm the reasons for the problems the speaker appears to be Consider, for example, the sounds occurring before and after the ‘problem’ sound. Are they possibly impacting the production of the problem sound? Does the speaker *always* mispronounce the ‘problem’ sound, or does it appear to happen only in predictable contexts? (Remember our discussion of phonological processes and your awareness of the potential for native language to interfere with production in the second language.)
Jot down your impressions of what is happening in the production of the sounds.
Write up a brief report listing (a) the problem sounds, (b) the description of target and non-target pronunciation, and (c) a brief description of your proposed approach to assisting the students in modifying their articulation.
I suggest the use of the following table to organize your results. You would also include a prose explanation of the approach you would take in assisting the student in modifying his/her production. In the table below, I provide a sample of the type of information to be included in each column. Remember that you have to consider both the words in which a problematic sound is occurring and the specific environments that might be influencing the pronunciation. You should be able to find more than one instance of a given error in the data. Cite those in your table to illustrate the point you are making.
Elicitation Passage (audio file to use is uploaded to this submission):
Please call Stella.
Ask her to bring these things with her from the store: six spoons of fresh snow peas, five thick slabs of blue cheese, and maybe a snack for her brother Bob.
We also need a small plastic snake and a big toy frog for the kids.
She can scoop these things into three red bags, and we will go meet her Wednesday at the train station.
—————————————————————————————————————————————————
At the end of this mini-project, you will demonstrate the ability to:
attend to nonnative and native English pronunciation of sounds
identify where pronunciation varies from an established norm (using the provided baseline transcription)
explain the difference(s) between the target pronunciation and that of the emergent pronunciation
develop a plan of action to assist individuals in modifying their pronunciation to approach the target
use the technical language, notation, and analytical procedures in phonetics and phonology to describe all sounds and interventions accurately

Your final Data Analysis Report must be between 400-500 words and include the following:
State your variables and hypotheses. (listed below)
Describe in detail what data analysis techniques would be appropriate to apply to your proposed study and justify why they are appropriate.
Explain why these are appropriate for your study. Be specific and include the appropriate statistical tests.

General Topic of Interest
-Future of technology. Artificial Intelligence technology and safety in Aviation.
Research Objective/Purpose
– The purpose of this study is to evaluate how artificial intelligence can improve safety for the future of aviation.
Research Question
– What is the relationship between safety in the aviation industry and the use of artificial intelligence?
Variables
The Independent Variable- Artificial Intelligence technologies in aviation.
The Dependent Variable- Safety in aviation.
The Intervening Variable- Rules and regulations.
The Moderating Variable- The user experience and A.I. application.

The Chi-square test method could be used to address the relationship between safety in the aviation industry and the use of artificial intelligence. This would assist in calculating if in fact there is a noteworthy distinction in aircraft with A.I. technology compared to an aircraft without A.I. technology. This logistic regression could be used to answer the research question. This type of regression is used to estimate the possibility of an event happening or not happening. As my dependent variable is “Safety” the outcome is binary, either the A.I. is providing safety or it is not providing safety.
An advantage of logistic regression is that it doesn’t only offers a gauge of how significant the independent variable is, but in addition, it informs us if we have a positive or negative relationship between them. Though a requirement of this method is a sufficient sample size as if the sample size is too small it won’t be able to accurately provide a prediction, which is one disadvantage. Basically, if there isn’t sufficient input data for it to discover patterns then it will not be able to accurately calculate outcomes.

Computers… compute. Everything that goes on is 1’s and 0’s. These strings of 1’s and 0’s are entirely meaningless on their own, but computers don’t show up empty. All your electronics have an operating system. At this point in history, we actually have multiple layers of operating systems on top of each other. All American software begins with ASCII, and then we eventually get to MacOS, iOS, Android, Windows, Linux, etc by building upon the pre-configured hardware. So, Kant understands the human being to come pre-equipped with “software”, so to speak. Specifically, we have two fundamental notions: space and time. Our experience of the world would just be raw data, but it is instead interpreted through our own software, i.e. our rational nature. This, of course, implies one really annoying thing for human beings: Innate Ideas. Yes, Kant is absolutely going back to innate ideas, even though Locke has already argued they don’t exist in any form.Who’s right, Locke or Kant? Do innate ideas exist?
