TOPIC 4: Preparing Displays for Job Expos and Fairs Portfolio 2 involves writing essays on approved topics – see Appendix C. If you desire to write on a topic not on the list, you must seek approval o essay help: essay help

If you desire to write on a topic not on the list, you must seek approval on that topic before submitting it for evaluation.
In these essays, experience is related to the chosen learning principle. The experiential essays must follow the rubric evaluation sections, which are listed below. The experiential essays should be at least 500 words (2 pages), formatted as described at the beginning of the syllabus.
Essay Guidelines
1.      Define the Learning Venue
When and where did the experience occur? How much time was involved? What was your role or position? Who else was involved? This background information will provide you with a concrete reference point which will help you place your essay in perspective. This section should be at least two to three complete sentences
2.      State and describe the Learning Principle
The Learning Principle is the core learning which aligns with the chosen topic for the essay. To write an effective essay, you may first want to read and study various sources – conduct primary/secondary research through books, magazines, films, recordings, interviews, etc. This will refresh your memory and bring forth the details of a specific learning experience and the theory behind the principle. Articulate the Learning Principle in at least one paragraph, preferably two, with a minimum of three complete sentences, which describes the core principle as it specifically relates to what you learned. Include a statement about the principle which differentiates it from a subject about which you have a surface knowledge, to why it should be considered college-level learning. For example, you may have a surface understanding of the importance of time management, but for this to be considered as college-level learning, explain what you learned, identifying sub-points and related aspects which exhibit deeper understanding of the learning principle.
3. Application of Principle Outside of Venue of Experience
Describe your competence in the subject area, that is, the level of knowledge or ability that enables you to perform effectively. Practice writing competence statements that reflect your personal learning experience and relate to the course description:
I learned how to develop and use active listening habits. (Skill)
I learned to identify barriers to effective communications in the workplace and how to overcome them. (Knowledge)
The more precise you can be in identifying your competencies and learning outcomes, the more easily your experience can be assessed for credit. To say that you “learned to communicate” is a broad generalization; to say that you “learned that you cannot make assumptions about whether everyone understands what you are saying” or that “nonverbal symbols can communicate as loudly as the spoken word” are more precise, acceptable statements.
Your specificity also enables evaluators to determine your level of competence. There are many levels of competence related to the knowledge and skills acquired in a subject area.
Remember how important it is to balance theory and applied learning. Ideally, your essay will interweave the two. For example, if you are writing about motivation, you might discuss the major theories of motivation – Herzberg’s Motivation-Maintenance Model, Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, or Vroom’s Expectancy Theory – as they relate to what you have learned as a supervisor.
How does your experiential learning compare and contrast with accepted theory in that subject area? What problems did you identify related to motivating employees? Use examples from your own experiences to illustrate your knowledge and understanding of theoretical concepts.
This section should be at least four paragraphs of approximately five sentences each.
4. Conclusion
Summarize the previous three sections in at least two paragraphs of approximately five sentences each. Add a paragraph which integrates your learning regarding this principle with Christian worldview and lifestyle practices. The conclusion must contain clear reference to how a Christian worldview intersects with the learning and its application in the broader context. For example, a course in time management could include a statement such as this in the conclusion.
“Learning how to more effectively manage my time has made me more effective across all aspects of my life. It has also made me aware of the reality that we all have the same amount of time each day, as well as a limited amount of time while on this earth. Because of this I am more conscious of the importance of valuing the people in my life and being a better example to them of Christ’s love in everything I do.”

we take from obstacles we encounter can be fundamental to later success. Recount a time when you faced a challenge, setback, or failure. How did it affect you, and what did you learn from the experience? essay help online: essay help online

This essay should be very personal and with many details! (if you have any questions please let). My obstacle is moving to USA from my native country. That is for several reasons:
1. When I finally got the document and was able to move to US and leave of my family (mom, dad, brother), I was the happiest person on Earth, but it did not last long. Three month after being in US school, I had to take SAT exam, which includes a lot of advanced English. In Ukraine, I had an excellent English grade and was praised by my teacher, however, upon arrival to the USA, I quickly realized the I can not speak fluent English with my teachers at school, did not understand majoring of the words in the SAT English Section, and can not take AP classes right away( school administration and my counselor assumed I would not do well in these classes and did not even consider me as a potential candidate). Back in my home country, I was among the best students in the whole school, had awards for an excellent academic performance, but everything changed here. I felt very embarrassed, sad, and ashamed by the fact that I was placed in the easiest classed possible and in junior years in school did not have any AP classes like the rest of the students of the same age. My SAT score come out to be low and felt left behind from the rest of the competitive classmates who were satisfied by their score and shared happy news with each other. I remember going home and crying because I was too ashamed by my score and had to keep this news all to myself. At that point, I thought that my career path would be ruined. But that was not all.
2. Inaccurate transfer of credits. The grading scale in Ukraine is different that US system. In my home county, they use 1-12 scale with 12 being the best grade. After 9th grade in Ukrainian school, I transfer to the medical college (it is possible in most European countries; it resembles nursing school in US), which had a scale of 1-5 to grade. Medical college was my 10th grade. For the 11th grade I was here, in US. The school counselor was really confused about transferring those 2 different grading systems into US letter scale. Thus, some of the letters in my school transcriipt did not really represent the grade (numbers) I received as a grade in Ukraine. It was all tough and disappointing to see that all my effort put into earning good grades in Ukraine was wiped away by inaccurate transfer of my credits. But that was not the worst.
3. They did not transfer all of my classes. The classes that US school did not offer to take were not transfer, for example, Law, Ukrainian literature, Ukrainian literature…
Imagine investing so much time into learning a subject, putting all the efforts into getting good, and in return you have nothing. That was the most disheartening thing ever. Also, the educational system in Ukraine does not offer the classes of different ranking (AP, HONORS, ADVANCED); they are all the same. So without even looking at how the system works, everybody looking at my transcriipt assumed that I took the easiest classes, when in reality I did not have a choice.
In the 12th grade, I started taking 2 AP classes, but to apply to the prestigious schools 2 AP classes and a few more “easy” classes was not enough (they did not even consider the “translated” transcriipt from Ukraine). My school was among the best public schools in US, so every student applying to the college was very competitive and did everything they could (sport, community services, music, choir, different clubs excellent academic record) to get into top tier schools. With only 2 years in US school, I did not have enough AP. classes of my transcriipt, outside of the school hobbies to share in my application, bad SAT score, and other small issues, I understood that the only thing i can do to get back on track is to go to the local community college. There I was able to take college classes to make my transcriipt look complete, find a hobby that I like( volunteering at the hospital), find new friends, and be a part of the Honors Program.
I would like you to describe all the challenges I faced in US school and how the qualities I developed helped me to became i stronger student and will help me in the future. PLEASE DESCRIBE ALL THE FEELING AND EMOTIONS I WENT THROUGH BASED ON THE STORY YOU READ ABOUT ME. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO DESCRIBE MY PAIN AND EMOTIONS IN THE RIGHT WORDS SO THAT I READER CAN FEEL IT! Please think of the creative way to do it (for example, it can be inner dialog with myself, or a conversation with my mother). Please be creative with it! You can make up thoughts, emotions, or some parts that I did not fully explain, but please stick to the overall story. Your language should be clear and diverse. Use advanced vocabulary. No repetitions (use the synonyms instead of using the same words over and over again). Make the story sound smooth and clear. Please do not make grammar mistakes.

For this assignment, you will be analyzing how jobs in your field or discipline are represented in pop culture through various media, such as film, television, advertisements, recruiting brochures, etc. How do different media characterize people in different professions? Do they paint them in positive or negative light? Are there any stereotypes that these portrayals reinforce or, perhaps, work against? How does the way in which these professionals are represented compare to the reality of that line of work?
Invention/Picking a topic:
Step 2. Think about an occupation/vocation that you’re interested in and brainstorm about the how that occupation is typically represented in pop culture, including any stereotypes or associations that come to mind when you think about this kind of work. If the profession you are writing about is computer science, what kind of person comes to mind? A man or woman? What age? How do they dress? How do they talk? What are their strengths? What are their weaknesses? What other characteristics or personality types come to mind?
Step 3. Now that you have a certain generic image of that occupation in mind, try to think about where that image comes from. Where have you learned about this occupation? How has this occupation been represented or depicted in various media? The goal is to identify a specific cultural artifact that captures how this line of work is or has been represented.

The Assignment: Strategic Treatment Plan

The Treatment Plan Short 2.0.pdf … See attached documents
TreatmentPlanRubric.pdf …. See attached documents

Create a Strategic Family Treatment Plan utilizing the following case example:
A family was referred to the Parent and Child Development Center by Carin, Hannah Holmes’ maternal Aunt, who is concerned that Hannah seems so withdrawn. Carin, who is unable to drive, has never met Julia but recalls Jordyn and Jorge as nice children who used to come to visit often. Carin says “maybe it is normal for Hannah to be so busy with 3 kids now, but she calls less often and does not sound like herself when she does call”. Hannah agreed to an initial visit by a Family Specialist Social Worker
Holmes Family:
Hiram – 45
Hannah – 44
Jorge – 5
Jordyn – 3
Julia – 18 mos.
• The Holmes family live in a suburban neighborhood outside of Lexington, KY.
• Hiram works approximately 50 hours a week as a mid-level executive at an insurance company; Hannah was trained as a dental hygienist, but has stayed at home since the birth of Jorge; finances are somewhat strained as they bought a huge house 3 years ago and are now having trouble making house payments. Contemplating trying to sell and move closer to Jorge’s job downtown.
• Married for 12 years.
• Not active in church, though starting to look for church home for kids (come from different backgrounds – he Jewish, she Catholic – sometimes experience conflict on faith traditions; looking for common ground for support; tried going to different places, did not like what they have found so far after 4 different visits “We are pretty discouraged” – looking for support on this topic)
• The family of origin: Hiram’s family of origin – he was an only child; father died from heart disease when he was 50, as did his grandfather at 48. Mother was emotionally somewhat absent, often volunteering rather than spending time with Hiram, Hiram largely raised himself. Little other family connections. Hannah comes from a large family where she is the middle of 8 children (7 girls and 1 son) – brother was the youngest and is “spoiled”, but lives near Hannah and is helpful to the Holmes around the house – fixes things. Hannah competes with her sisters for her parent’s attention. She does not often tell her problems to her family for fear she will sound “needy”. Hannah is very close to an Aunt who lives in Nebraska – they talk on the phone several times a week.
• Health – Hiram is about 50 pounds overweight and very worried about family health history, but has “no time” to work out or take walks. Hannah walked every day with a next door neighbor and the kids but the neighbor moved away last year just after Julia was born. Hannah finds herself having a very hard time losing the “baby weight” and reports that she often sits around watching TV rather than walking or cleaning. Playing with the kids is getting harder for her to do – “it takes too much energy”. She has felt this way since shortly after Julia was born. She is still nursing Julia. She quit nursing Jorge and Jordyn when both were 12 months old.
• Children:
o Jorge: Active 5 year old – runs a lot, good on stairs, loves stacking blocks, does not always take directions well. Listens very well to Hiram, but recently has started defying Hannah. Seeks attention a lot – hides behind mother’s legs when asked questions. Goes to preschool half-days (afternoons) and will be in Kindergarten in the fall. Very bossy of Jordyn, says little about Julia, has thrown blocks at Julia. Followed normal development stages of walking and talking. Prescribed glasses at age 3.
o Jordyn: precocious 3-year old, very friendly to strangers – she sat on your lap immediately – very attention seeking. Good motor skills and advanced verbal skills – speaks very clearly. Brings everything to Hannah, even before asked. Hiram describes her as a “little mother”. Caters to Julia. Very caring. Followed normal developmental stages of walking and talking. No major illnesses.
o Julia: 18 mo. old – not walking yet. Some crawling; poor coordination and leg strength; shows little curiosity, babbles; can sit up without much help, beginning to use her thumb to pick up objects, drops one object when handed another, looks to Jordyn when she needs something, watches Jorge a lot, but little communication. Very attached to Jordyn, not as much to her mother or father. Father sometimes plays peekaboo, but she is not interested unless he is touching her hands or arms, otherwise, she ignores him. Has not been to the doctor since she was 9 months old.

Elasticity and Its Application a level english language essay help

Over the last year your boss has noticed that it would be useful for your firm to understand how consumers behave when variables in the market change and how these changes affect the total revenue for your product. You have been asked to do an analysis for your product, Good A, by addressing the following questions and reporting the results to your boss in a formal paper.

Define the price elasticity of demand? What information does it provide? How is it calculated?

Define the income elasticity of demand? What information does it provide? How is it calculated?

Define the cross-price elasticity of demand? What information does it provide? How is it calculated?

What is total revenue? How is it calculated?

Define elastic, inelastic, and unitary elasticity means. How are these related to total revenue? Explain your answers.

With respect to the price elasticity of demand, construct a graph using the data in Figure1. Illustrate the ranges on the demand curve that indicate elastic, inelastic, and unitary elasticity. Explain your answers. Enter non-numerical responses in the same worksheet using textboxes.

Calculate the total revenue for each level of demand and post into the table, Figure 1. (Copy and paste this table into the Microsoft Word document that will form part of your submission.)

Using the midpoints formula presented in the textbook, calculate the price elasticity coefficient for each price level, starting with the coefficient for the $4 to $6 level. For each coefficient, indicate each type of elasticity: elastic demand, inelastic demand, or unitary demand. Post your answers into the table, Figure 1.

Assume that the income of consumers changes by 10%, and as a result the quantity demanded for Good A changes by 8%. What is the income elasticity of demand for Good A? What does this mean for your company?

Assume that the price of competing Good B decreases by 5% and as a result, the quantity demand for Good A decreases by 8%. What is the cross-price elasticity for your product? What type of goods are Good A and Good B?

Purpose: Asking good questions is one of the best ways to give you direction in the early stages of argumentative essay help

Asking good questions is one of the best ways to give you direction in the early stages of doing research, choosing sources, and taking notes for the CP paper in 39C. You can use this worksheet as a 30-minute exercise that helps you formulate analytical arguments about the sources you’re choosing as you begin your research. This worksheet will also help you get started assembling materials for the Reflective Introduction and your final ePortfolio that will be due at the end of the quarter.

As you work on the wide variety of assignments for 39C, it is a good idea to reflect periodically on your awareness and motivations regarding the function of your research methods, source selection, and note-taking in the context of the rhetorical triangle:

Each time you find a new source, jot down your reasons for using it, the particular features of it that you find useful or fascinating, the relationship between maker/text/audience in the source itself, and the effect you believe your interpretation of the source will have on your readers.

You could consider answering one or two of these questions:

Which databases are ending up to be the most productive, and why?

Which search terms are working, and which aren’t?

How can I refine the nature of my search for sources so I get sources my intended audience would find convincing?

Write your own research-related questions to be answered in your Reflective Intro:

Again, answering one or two of these questions can help you get a clearer picture of how you’re shaping your CP:

Why did I choose this source over other, similar sources?

Have I covered an array of points of view in my primary and scholarly sources?

What am I trying to establish in terms of my own credibility when I use this source?

What effect do I intend this source to have on my readers, and why?

How can vivid descriiption of this source help my argument?

Write your own source-related questions to be answered in your Reflective Intro:

As you prepare to write, think about the features of the material you are analyzing, a hypothesis or argument you could develop, and the audiences you are attempting to reach. Answering one or two of these questions may help you take more effective notes:

What aspect of this primary or secondary source is the most useful for my topic?

How and where is this source appealing to a particular audience?

What are a few possibilities for an argument I could construct using this evidence?

Who is my intended audience, and how could I use this document to reach them?

Write your own note-taking questions to be answered in your Reflective Intro:

Required Word Count: between 550 words (min)-700 words (max)

As we have discussed in class, narrative is a means through which we come to terms with fundamental elements of our human experience. For this assignment, you will draw on your personal histories and think about a defining moment—a moment where something changed occurred that changed you. This could be a major decision or event. It could be a small or seemingly insignificant or it can be major and seemingly significant. The choice is yours!

As you’ve read, most narratives progress through five stages: equilibrium, disruption, recognition, attempt at repairing, and a return to/a new equilibrium (see “What is Narrative?” PowerPoint PDF in Week 3 folder). Your paper will tell a narrative, personal story that includes all of these elements. So, once you have chosen the moment/experience you want to write about, take some time to reflect on that experience and consider how it connects to your present, your current, new equilibrium, and what message you want to communicate to your reader.

Your narrative essay should make your reader be able to envision the moment/s you are describing. Where were you? When was it? What was it like for you? For the people around you? What about life before this moment and after this moment does the reader need to know in order to understand your story? Who is involved? What are they like? What were their reactions compared to yours? What questions did you ask yourself in the moment?

What is like after this experience in the immediate moments that followed but also now? How often do you think of this moment? Have you not really thought about it at all but, provoked by this assignment, realized some important ways it connects to your everyday life? Do you consider this a liminal moment for you? Why?

Remember: It is important that you are showing your reader what happened; not simply telling them, so that they can read your story and visualize it. Use the examples we have read in class to help you model and craft this writing.

I expect that the assignment to longer than 4 pages because the charts and boxes in the document are taking a lot of room away from the document. Please do more than 4 pages or I will send it back as much as I have to, so that I get a good grade.

Response Posts: Respond to 2 of your groupmates’ submissions. Provide constructive feedback on some or all of the guidelines best essay help: best essay help

Response Posts:

Respond to 2 of your groupmates’ submissions. Provide constructive feedback on some or all of the guidelines for the problem statement (i.e. is the policy problem clearly and concisely articulated? Is the problem as framed one that can be addressed by public intervention [vs private]? Is the policy problem-specific enough?). For each response post, title your post as “Response to [student’s name].”

Please note that the policy at issue is the proposed BMI screening policy. While BMI screening might be an upstream approach to addressing obesity over the longer term, this assignment should not be interpreted to mean that the policy “problem” is obesity in general. This assignment is requesting that you consider issues, concerns, benefits, and risks with the proposed BMI policy itself from your particular professional perspective. When you are invited to speak at any of the public forms (local, state, federal) on this proposed policy, what is it that you might want the policymakers to know and consider in their decision? For instance, if you are a public health professional, you might be particularly concerned about how this screening policy impacts sub-populations such as low-income communities or racially and culturally diverse communities. If you are a social worker, you might focus on a contemporaneous risk assessment for peer experiences of bullying and victimization.
