2. How would something like the Circle be helpful for students in the School of Social Work?

3. What specific part of the process that the authors engaged in as part of the Circle do you think would be most helpful and why?

4. Would being in a Circle be beneficial for male and female students equally or would one group benefit more? Why?

An Accountability Sistah Circle

What are your general thoughts about the Circle and its impact on each of the authors?
The ASC model emphasizes the survival strategy and advancement for scholars underrepresented in poor higher education structures and systems. It also addresses the individualistic needs of feminism in a virtual society for accountability and support. The power of the ASC model enhances discord by transcending personal views and promoting a safe environment to disentangle individual challenges from the goals and objectives of a group. The ASC model article was a challenge to the feminine authors because earning a doctoral tenure and promotion in African American social work, community, and collaboration (Denise et al., 2017). It also requires substantiating their understanding of social networking, mutual aid, affiliation network, self-help, and community-centered strategies to address gender inequalities and racism.

2. How would something like the Circle be helpful for students in the School of Social Work?

Social work students can become knowledgeable about the intersectionality of race and gender. However, to African American women, it might negatively comment on their personality because they are perceived as irrational and emotional; thus, a feeling of isolation in classroom discussion. It can also enable them to learn gender norms and embrace cultural diversity through emancipating social interactions. That is likely to occur due to masculine values over feminine and racial inequalities where white students are granted favoritism and tend to criticize the African American racial identity, gender, culture, and reasoning capabilities.

3. What specific part of the process that the authors engaged in as part of the Circle do you think would be most helpful and why?

The Sistah no. 2 illustrated that searching for an academic parent was a significant effort toward attaining a doctorate in social work. The author’s experience in the Circle expounds on how doctorate social work researchers devote their lives to academic success and build social relationships with his parents and Sistahs within the Circle. The Sistah concept circle also implies the struggle that Ph.D. and Doctorate students undergo through proving and defending their dissertations. It is vital to reconstructing one’s social interaction ability within the Circle to get empowerment and become accountable in leadership.

4. Would being in a Circle be beneficial for male and female students equally or would one group benefit more? Why?

The masculine and feminism can have mainstreamed added advantages on enrolling into the Sistah circle system because it encourages individual participation in unveiling their experiences in life. They can probably build social linkages to get counseling and educational empowerment within the Circle. The Circle promotes commemorations of students’ little achievements; thus, males and females students can get motivational phrases from their colleagues and doctoral lectures. That is achievable through unveiling their family financial constraints and experiences and racial segregation issues to their mentors and lecturers who can find solutions and improve their performance in school.

Christianity view on marriage college admission essay help

Topic: Christianity view on marriage

Research Paper prompt from professor:
1200 word minimum (NOT counting the Works Cited page)

Religion is not developed or practiced in a vacuum. It influences and is influenced by almost everything else found in culture—food, sexual practice and taboos, rites of passage (birth, marriage, death), entertainment (music, movies, art, literature, sports), healing arts, and understandings of the natural world.

For this project, the student will choose a topic of interest and show the impact of religion(s). Some broad examples might be: Christian expression in NASCAR, the reflection of Shinto in a piece of Japanese anime (choose one movie/book/game), Buddhism and Kung Fu (many martial arts practices are based in religion), Jewish history and belief in regard to tattoo body art. The possibilities are endless. The subject area will need to be precise and manageable. Do not write about Christianity in American politics, for instance, but rather about the Christian voice in the debate on gay marriage in the United States.

For topic ideas, read through the final pages of each chapter in your book. Contemporary challenges and cultural influences will often be discussed on these pages. Ask friends, other teachers, coaches, or family members for ideas. Consider religious topics in the news, or google information as a way to find a topic. (Googled information cannot, however, be used in the paper.)

You must have a minimum of 3 sources from the EFSC databases. Yes, I know there are other good sources, but one of the learning goals for this paper is to develop skills in using the databases. One of the three minimum required sources may be a book. The textbook, however, will be counted as an additional source (not one of the three required minimum). Avoid using book reviews and encyclopedic information.

Sources may not be “googled” or come from other internet searches or from sources such as Wikipedia or Ask.com, though these sites may help you find keywords for exploring the databases.

The only additional sources to be included in the paper are primary sources. For instance, if you are exploring themes from Confucianism in the movie Mulan, the movie may be an additional source (does not count as one of the three minimum required sources). Personal interviews cannot be used in this paper.

Having trouble finding sources? Work with one of our research librarians, available at all campus libraries and through e-mail.

Sources must be relevant to the paper topic. If you are exploring Confucianism in Mulan, you need sources that point out Confucius teachings in that movie. As this is a research paper, do not take the expert role and draw your own conclusions, for instance citing instances of Confucian belief in the movie. Instead, research and write about what other experts have said on this topic.

Use careful MLA style and formatting. Avoid plagiarism by citing ALL sources in the text of the manuscript. This includes quotations, certainly, but also a body of information you learned from a specific source and which you have put in your own words. At the end of that body of information (a paragraph, for instance), simply cite your source in parentheses. Avoid long quotations, or an abundance of direct quotes. It is best to put information in your own words, and then cite the source.

This is a research paper. Do not take a side or try to make an argument. Present the information found in expert source material. With controversial topics, balance the paper by reflecting arguments from all sides. Do not include personal experience, opinion, or pronouns. This is a third-person paper.

When writing the paper, do not recount the storyline of a movie/book/television show.

Papers that do not meet the required minimum criteria will receive an “F” without any further grading.

Minimum Criteria:

MLA format
Meets minimum word requirement
Meets assignment criteria
Appropriate thesis
Appropriate sources
Proper in-text citations (no plagiarism)

This paper must be an original piece of work produced by the student. Do not copy or borrow material from previous student papers or the internet. When you submit your paper, it will automatically go through Turnitin.com. If this shows your paper has been plagiarized in any way, the paper will be rejected and given an “F.”

statistical Analysis of FEVS 2020 data set by running a regression analysis essay help online

About the FEVS 2020 Data Set used for this Exam The data set for this exam has been truncated from the original FEVS2020 data set (truncated from N=600,000 to N=11,709 – once data set is cleaned). This allows the data set to be more manageable in Excel. The data set is clean and already recoded, except for one variable Age40Up. You should recode this variable (use the recode formula instructions below and also available in an inserted comment on the Excel file). Because recoding and cleaning data make up an important step in data analysis, we wanted to provide you with the opportunity to recode at least one variable. This FEVS data set contains two sheets on the Excel file. The two sheets are 1) the actual data set sheet and 2) the codebook. The codebook explains the variables, which are the survey questions. It explains how each variable is coded. Recode Instructions: For the “age40up” variable, students should recode the values, so the age variable becomes a dichotomous/dummy variable with numerical values. Your reference value will be “40 and under”, which should be coded as 0. Insert a column directly to the right of the column for “age40up”. The column letter is “D” for my data set, but may be a different letter for you. Column D is the original column for the “age40up” variable. So, the new column you insert to the right will become column E. Name this new column/variable “age40up ” (the ” ” differentiates it from your original “age40up” variable). In cell E2 of your new “age40up ” variable, enter the following formula: =IF(D2=”A”,0, IF(D2=”B”,1, IF(D2=””,”BLANK”))) This statement tells Excel that the value of E2 should be: 0 if D2 contains A 1 if D2 contains B BLANK if D2 is blank Then copy the content of this cell all the way down to the end of the data (you can double-click the cell’s corners to auto-copy to the end of the data). This allows the functions to reflect in every cell of the column/variable. After that, copy the entire column and then paste-over as a Values(V) paste (command V key for MAC). This eliminates the functions in the cells and allows you to delete the original reference column. (NOTE: You must delete the reference column, that is the original column D, since the data in the original column contains letters/text. Excel cannot run the regression if you have non-numeric data). Be sure to use the column filter feature to eliminate cells with blanks. Once you have eliminated all blanks, the data should be clean and ready for analysis in Excel. The multiple regression analysis can be conducted using Excel with the following steps: Before running the regression analysis, data should be clean: Recode Column D, the “age40up” variable. If you have already completed the recode, please proceed to the Multiple Regression Steps for Excel below. If you have not, please follow “Recode Instructions” shown above. NOTE: In the recode step, you should delete all blanks. This reduces the data from N=11,717 TO N=11,709; in other words, a total of 11,710 rows in Excel, including the first row of the column titles/variable names. Multiple Regression Steps for Excel After you have recoded the “age40up” variable, you are ready to run the regression. Open the Data Analysis window and choose regression. Click in the Input Y Range to activate. Select cells B1 through B11710 (this is the “Q12-performview” variable, your dependent variable) (a quick way to highlight all the cells in the column is to first select the first cell (B1). Then “hold down the shift key, CTRL key, and the down key” at the same time. Once you are finished selecting these cells, $B$1:$B$11710 will appear in the Input Y Range box. Click on Input X Range to activate. (NOTE: Because you are doing multiple regression, all the data for the main independent variable plus control variables need to be selected here– that means all the other data columns). A quick way to do this is: First, select cells C1 through Q1. (Remember, initially, you are highlighting just the first row). Once C1 through Q1 is selected, “hold down the shift key, CTRL key, and the down key” at the same time, to select the rest of the data in all those columns. Again, after selecting all these data, they should appear in the Input X Range field in the box as in the following: $C$1:$Q$11710 Be sure and click Labels. Specify where your output table will go under the output options (example: new worksheet, etc.) and click OK.

For this assignment, suppose that you have been given $10,000 with the requirement that you “invest” it in one of the 3 different options below. Research the expected return and associated risk for each of the following: Pay down your student loan or credit card debt. Although this is not technically an investment, it is effectively the same as earning a “risk-free” rate of interest. Alternatively, you can keep the cash in a riskless (FDIC insured) bank account. Which one would you choose given your level of risk aversion? Explain in detail. What sort of capital investments do you think you might make in the future? What other investments (such as owning your own company or investing in a start-up) would you consider? Why? Are there any factors in addition to monetary gain that you would consider? Your score will be determined by your word count (200 word minimum), completely answering all questions, the accuracy of the information you provide, and how well-written your answers are (see rubric below).

Carefully read the following before participating in this discussion: In its many manifestations, films may become the main art form of this century. Blockbuster movies, video games, and independent Y college essay help online

Blockbuster movies, video games, and independent YouTube videos, may become even the most profound medium of reality. A well-told story, as example, points beyond itself. After all, the final interpretation is not with the story itself. Instead, it is to what the story points. In the words of Shakespeare, a story “bodies forth the forms of things unknown.” Many novelists and film producers admit their creativity seems to come from a “not me,” an “autonomous power,” a force independent of the story, a force inspired—not invented.
This, alone, is breathtaking. At the same time, however, we are becoming a culture concerned with “interactivity.” Today’s youth lead today’s events, and they revel in an “anything goes” world. They love breaking boundaries and overcoming constraints. Rather than following rules, they break the rules. In place of limits, they transgress the limits. More important, they constantly change the storyline of a sensually simulated world. And, they increasingly collaborate creatively in the realm of “world building.”
As a result, films are no longer mere entertainment, no longer mere representation art, no longer mere simulations of life. Instead, films are increasingly pointing beyond themselves, leaping outside themselves, becoming “open systems.”
In short, films are becoming “life itself.”
This inherent power presents a problem, though. Many observers are saying “life itself” is in trouble. Increasingly, society reaches for the word “evil” to describe things that in the past were simply “unfortunate,” or mere “mental illness,” or “bad behavior.” Ancient wisdom repeatedly reminds us that “seraph” and “snake” abide side by side in the borderlines of our darker motivations. Even today, we admit that some moods are maladies. Some passions are polluted. Some sentiments are sinister. Further, we have known them to deceive and destroy us.
Ignoring these facts is like trying to erase our shadow.
Many of us, though, want something better. Most of us actually care about the future of our family, our nation, and those in need. We earnestly want films to be assets in our future—not liabilities.
Answering that want, we must necessarily perceive a “wisdom of the heart” that both “sees” and “feels.” Does a film empower you or overpower you? Does it offer hope or hopelessness? Does it portray selflessness or selfishness? Does it make you a victor or a victim? Does it move you or simply manipulate you?
Or, finally, does it confuse you, portraying good as evil and evil as good?
Great art, of course, often employs grief. Hopefully, however, this grief can still reveal a “nevertheless” paradox containing at least the seeds of hope. And yes, some art oozes romantic sweetness. Again, however, it can still recall a taste of bitterness in its sweetness.
In short, we must accept responsibility for a future driven by film. In doing so, we must learn to test, discern, and ground the evidence of something more wondrous or ominous than us.
<>
In this discussion, name 3 ways you intend to both protect and encourage the power of film during your lifetime.

Writing assignment This is a MANDATORY assignment. Failure to submit the assignment will result in a 100 point deduction college application essay help

Writing assignment

This is a MANDATORY assignment. Failure to submit the assignment will result in a 100 point deduction of the final grade. In other words, in addition to receiving a 0 for the assignment, you will have an additional 100 points taken away as well. Please watch the following video as part of your writing assignment.

Link: https://youtu.be/J6wzZsEvY84 . If the video does not open, please use another browser, like Mozilla Firefox.

Then, write a 1-page summary and reaction to the video.

Page 2 and forward: Analyze the video based on ONE of the theoretical perspectives: Structural functionalism, Symbolic Interactionism, or Conflict. The choice is yours. Choose the perspective you are most comfortable with and, along with your notes and textbook, analyze the video. Make sure your examples are clear and that your explanations are thorough. Your explanation could seal the deal for you! You must clearly justify why your example is in line with the chosen perspective. DO NOT provide examples about different perspectives. You must choose only one.

In sum, you must have 3 specific examples from the video WITH explanations of ONE of the following:

Functionalism
Symbolic Interactionism OR
Conflict perspective
Your paper should total approximately 3-4 pages total, typed, double spaced. Please submit 1 paper that includes the reaction AND the analysis.

Your paper MUST be submitted through the assignment dropbox as an attachment. Otherwise, it will not be graded. Please submit ONLY MS Word documents. DO NOT E-MAIL YOUR ASSIGNMENT.

Below is a simplified example of how the analysis should be completed. Note that I expect much more detail and that your examples must come from the video.

The analysis is the most critical part of the paper, and that is where you need to apply the theory you feel most comfortable with. For example, if you were given a scenario about people in the US who live in an adult community, the story provided details about the lifestyle and expectations. It also went into the expenses and how most people are not able to afford to live there.

You have 3 choices to pick from. For example, if you decide on the Functionalist perspective, you could say that the nursing home serves a positive (manifest) function because older people are provided with a place to live where they are cared for. In addition, they have entertainment and a chance to make new friends.

The symbolic interactionist perspective would focus on the symbols that are present. First, the word “adult community” implies that you must be 55 years or older to live there. A symbol of being old is gray hair, walkers, wrinkles, etc.

The conflict perspective would look at inequality. They would address the cost of living in such a community. They would talk about the fact that the poor cannot afford to live in such a community, and they are therefore at a disadvantage.

Remember, you are expected to choose only one of the perspectives. It’s easier if you use the keywords in your response:

Functionalism – balance or purpose
Conflict – inequality
Symbolic Interactionism – symbols

Good luck.

NICHOLAS Case Study #1 Nicholas is a very intelligent 10-year-old who lived with his mother in his maternal grandmother’s home until he was three years old. A few years before his birth, his mother was diagnosed with bi-polar disorder, but refused medication because she said it made her feel “funny” and not herself. However she used drugs and alcohol to self medicate. Unfortunately, without proper medication, Nicholas’s mother’s behavior was quite volatile and emotionally unpredictable. This behavior worsened after she gave birth and created an environment for Nicholas that was full of chaos and violence. Therefore, Nicholas often witnessed his mother and grandmother in shouting matches that ended in physical altercations and the police being called. When Nicholas was three, his mother lost custody of him and his maternal grandmother became his sole guardian. His mother was removed from the home and sent to a therapeutic group home and rarely comes to see him. His father, who also had addiction and mental health issues, also never came around to see his son. Soon after his Grandma retained full custody, Nicholas began to exhibit behavioral problems which included aggression, hitting, cursing, and resistance. This often occurs with family members and with other children. In an effort to control these outbursts, Grandma ultimately cedes to his requests, regardless of the appropriateness of his behavior. When family members comment on his behavior and ask why she gives in to his tantrums, Grandma justifies her “giving in” behavior as compensating for Nicholas not having his mother. She also suggests that they all just do like him and pick on him for no reason. On the other hand, Grandma often resorts to shouting, cursing, and hitting Nicholas when his behavior appears to be in the boundaries of “typical” child behavior; this often escalates into a full blown rage episode where Nicholas ends up physically and verbally attacking his Grandmother in return. Nicholas attends the neighborhood public school. Academically he is in the average and above average performance. Yet, he continues to behave in inappropriate and aggressive ways with the teacher and his classmates. Recently his grandmother and his social worker were called to school when he threatened to stab a classmate in the neck with a sharp object he brought to school. The incident occurred when the classmate would not let Nicholas have the book she was reading. Undoubtedly such behavior is causing a great deal of consternation among the other students, parents, and teachers. Nicholas tells his Grandmother and the Social Worker that he was angry that the classmate did not give him the book when he asked for it. He states that he the teacher doesn’t like him and the students do not let him join in their games at recess and that makes him angry. When the teacher gently states that she does not dislike him and tries to explain that the students do not play with him because he is too aggressive toward them, the meeting abruptly ends with his grandmother blaming Nicholas’s behavior on the school and the other children. Questions 1. Identify and discuss the psycho-social risks facing Nicholas at this critical juncture of his life. Also discuss the protective factors you see in his life at this time. (5 points: one paragraph for risks and one paragraph for protective factors) a). PSYCHO/SOCIAL RISKS b). PROTECTIVE FACTORS 2. Explain and provide 3 examples of how Nicholas’s Grandmother’s role (nurture) contributes to the cognitive and emotional reactions Nicholas displays in his relationships with others. (two paragraphs- 5 points) 3. According to ATTACHMENT THEORY, (5 points) (a) what is the possible impact of his mother’s absentee parenting have on his emotional development? (Trajectory…risks) (one paragraph at minimum) (b) What appears to be the type of attachment with his grandmother? (one paragraph)
