Each paper is 3-5 pages long. These papers are designed to help you critically think about the concepts and reflect upon their application to your own conflict experiences. Concepts you are studying throughout the course, such as conflict, communication, and culture shape and influence your everyday experiences. These papers will help you make a connection between the course material and your own perceptions and experiences.
Your task for these papers is to think about the concepts in the book “Conflict and Communication” by FRED E. JANDT, and their connection to one another. These questions should be guiding your papers: what are some important concepts in these chapters, how are these chapters (1,2,4 and 8) connected to one another, and how do these concepts apply to you and your own experiences.
You need to show that you are both reading the book and critically thinking of the concepts. Therefore, 70% of your grade will depend on referencing the book. When you use an idea from the book or when you make a statement/an argument that comes from the book, write the page number, where the information is- i.e.: Communication is a cultural phenomenon (p. 4). If you are taking a direct quote from the book, make sure you cite it properly (see APA style for further information).
The paper is a way for you to take what you learned in each chapter (or in other words what you did for each discussion board) and analyze them as a whole- which means: think about how these chapters or your analysis of them in your posts, how do they connect to one another? How do different concepts or different aspects of conflict management influence or impact one another? For instance, what did you learn about listening? How are listening skills connected to how you choose certain conflict management strategies in various situations? Think about these chapters as a whole and reflect upon what you learned so far. I don’t want to give you too specific directions, because you have complete freedom in the way you connect concepts that stand out for you and describe their application to your experiences and observations.

Prior to beginning work on this discussion, read Chapter 2: The Global Marketing Environment, and pay close attention to the main types of economic systems and the stages of market development. The economic environment is a major determinant of global market potential and opportunity. A country’s economic environment has a bearing on how a business will function. Global companies depend on the economic environment for inputs and to sell their finished goods. Keegan and Green (2017) state that “traditionally, economists identified four main types of economic systems: market capitalism, centrally planned socialism, centrally planned capitalism, and market socialism” (p. 43). **I have attached page 43 from text book to cite in paper in files section–ONE SOURCE MUST BE FROM TEXT***

Develop a strong, clear thesis statement that articulates the message in the poem you have chosen. Your thesis statement should answer this question: What is this poem about? Your essay should then support that thesis.
Explain your ideas about the poem in a well-organized essay. Compose body paragraphs that effectively support your interpretation of the poem and explain how the poem conveys this message. Consider “Poetry Terms” and the poem’s speaker, audience, setting, plot, structure, imagery, diction, language, tone, sounds, rhythms, etc. It is often helpful to divide the poem into more accessible parts, though you should not depend solely on the poem’s superficial structure for your essay’s organization
Check that you have an introduction that charts your key points and makes obvious your thesis.
Check that you have a conclusion that brings closure to your essay.
Quote or paraphrase the poem, your primary source, to support your thesis, and correctly integrate your quotes. List your poem on a Works Cited page and format your paper according to MLA style. You may incorporate secondary sources into your paper to support your thesis, but because this essay is about your thoughts they are not required.
Proofread for grammar, spelling, word choice, wordiness, transitions, sentence structure, verb tense, academic tone (for example, avoid slang and contractions), length, and following assignment directions.
Compose a creative, compelling title that communicates to your audience what your essay is about

year by year recedes before us. It eluded us then, but that’s no matter-tomorrow we will run faster, stretch out
our arms farther… And one fine morning–So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into

“For this assignment, you will analyze a complex social system of your choosing based on a specific “explanatory challenge” (i.e., a phenomenon that you want to explain) that you wish to address. The system could be a professional sports league, a government, a university, a military branch, or any other group or organization constituted by several hundred or more individuals, but typically not more than a few thousand. The explanatory challenge might be something like asking why some teams are more successful than others, why some governments tend to be corrupt, and so on. You will need to research the system you choose, and refer to your findings in your essay. Make sure that this research informs your breakdown and analysis of the system, and referenced in a bibliography at the end of your paper.”
