Discussion: Whole Foods ‘Teaming Up’

The Whole Foods management and CEO use various methods to encourage teamwork among employees. The advancement of the corporative culture is one of the major factors enhancing collaboration. The additional payments and particular rewards are granted based on the team’s performance (Bierman et al., 2018). Another method used by the executives of Whole Foods to improve the quality of teamwork is collaborative events. For example, reimbursements for achieving healthy lifestyle goals are also provided for the whole team.

The colleagues can efficiently guide the talents of the employees. People may be talented, but they can apply their skills unproductively without the proper support. Through team collaboration and the establishment of trustful relationships among colleagues, the company motivates the employees to develop their skills and talents efficiently. Moreover, the encouraging system, which is also based on team performance, contributes to revealing the talents of the workers through changing activities. Another vital aspect is employees’ feedback which is extremely developed within teams in Whole Foods (Bierman et al., 2018). Analyzing their own skills and achievements through feedback, the employees discover new talents and abilities which can be used efficiently for the company’s development.

Providing the employees with the opportunity to control their activities themselves, Whole Woods encourages a high level of responsibility for the workers. Self-directed activities contribute to the personal and professional development of the employees. Whole Foods considers the education and development of employees as one of the significant success factors of the company’s growth (Bierman et al., 2018). Thus, self-directed activities are helpful for the company from the perspective of developing the employees’ professional and personal skills.
