Discusses Several Strategies For Competing Internationally, Some Of The Benefits Of Entering Foreign Markets, And Using Location To Build Competitive College Essay Help Near Me

discusses several strategies for competing internationally, some of the benefits of entering foreign markets, and using location to build competitive advantage.
However, there are also many inherent risks risks when operating in foreign markets.
Two key risks for firms operating in the global economy are:

The risk of adverse exchange rate shifts on financial performance.

The risk of tariffs imposed by some countries that impact the cost of goods sold and/or transferred.

Companies can decide to either ignore the impact of exchange rate changes and tariffs, or attempt to adapt their strategies and decisions to try to capitalize on favorable exchange rate changes and tariffs and minimize the adverse impact of unfavorable exchange rate changes and tariffs.

Please answer the following questions for the competitive footwear industry that you are participating in as part of the BSG simulation for your DB post:

What are two advantages and two disadvantages of a firm taking a “passive” approach to exchange rates in the footwear industry?

What are two ways in which a company can utilize geographic differences in import tariffs to it’s advantage in the footwear industry?  What are two key risks of this approach?

Note: Please make sure that you do not reveal any of your team’s “competitive strategies” in your postings above, and instead, just discuss within the scope of the overall Footwear industry.

Media Analysis: For this assignment, you are to investigate and compare media coverage of one issue from both mainstream and alternative sources. Since you will be comparing reporting across sources, college admission essay help

Since you will be comparing reporting across sources, it is probably easiest to address an issue that is currently hot such as the current war on terrorism, the conflict in the Middle East, Corporate corruption, gay marriage, abortion, or immigration issues.
Read at least one mainstream print article from a newspaper or magazine. You may use online sources such as the Washington Post, USA Today, nytimes.com, newsweek.com, time.com, and so on. Provide a link to the sources you use in your paper. I prefer that you use online sources. Why? When watching TV news, the images and language go by quickly. Thus, it is difficult to fully reflect on what you are viewing. However, if you can record and playback the news or get the transcripts from the program, I would be willing to allow you to use TV news sources. Please first talk to me before using television sources.
Next, investigate the same topic in at least two alternative print sources, ideally one on each side of the political spectrum. For example, you might choose articles from Mother Jones, The Nation, National Review, The American Conservative, or Z Magazine (in print or online). Please provide the link for these sources. A final tip an internet search can provide you with access to alternative news beyond those listed above.
Analysis: address these questions in your paper. 1. What are the key themes in the coverage? 2. What are the different arguments that you have heard? 3. What are the recurring patterns in media coverage of this subject? 4. How have the producers/writers/editors shaped the message(s) through words, images, or other means? 5. What is omitted from their message(s)? 6. In your view, do the messages accurately represent the totality of the subject? Why or why not? 7. In what ways does format matter and why? 8. Does anything else strike you about the coverage that you read?
Once you have addressed these questions, link your analysis with our readings and class lecture and discussion.
Your final paper should be about Six to Eight double-spaced pages if you are writing concisely! (MUST BE IN 12 POINT TIMES NEW ROMAN FONT WITH ONE-INCH MARGINS ALL AROUND). Good luck. If you feel overwhelmed, take a deep breath, talk to a friend or your classmates, or reach out to me for help. You are all smart. You can succeed! Take yourself seriously. We do. Try to enjoy yourself and learn from this assignment.

Reflection Assignment Instructions: In a written reflection of at least 200 words, engage with Stephen Wood, “Sports Team Owners college admission essay help: college admission essay help

Reflection Assignment Instructions:

In a written reflection of at least 200 words, engage with Stephen Wood, “Sports Team Owners Are Running Game on Players” (available as a PDF).

Your reflection must employ at least one (1) type of reflection task from three (3) different groups from the list of six groups (A) through (F) below. You are not limited to 3 tasks, but you must do at least 3 different tasks. There is no also minimum length for each individual task, only for the reflection as a whole.

Please use separate paragraphs for each reflection task and label each paragraph with the specific type of reflection task you’re completing within each group, not just the letter for the category. (You won’t get credit if you don’t include this! The purpose of this is to clearly communicate to me what you’re trying to do, and where in your response you’re trying to do it.)

Finally, you should state how long it took you to do the reading itself as well as how long your reflection took. (This is to help you be honest with yourself; you aren’t graded on the amount of time you spent, so there’s no incentive to lie or exaggerate, but you can’t get credit for the assignment if you don’t report this.)

Modes of Engagement:

Group A: Comprehension

Locating the author’s thesis or main idea and putting it in your own words
Be careful not to pick just any old sentence—your task is to zero in on the single most important idea the author is arguing for. The author will sometimes help you find this idea with phrases like ‘I am arguing that…’ or ‘I conclude that…’, but you may have to read between the lines. Once you’ve located the main idea, explain it as clearly as possible in your own words.
Outlining or summarizing the author’s argument in your own words
The most common way that philosophers do this is by setting out a list of formal numbered premises, or supporting claims, clearly explain how each the supporting claims build up to the conclusion.
Note: If the author has already clearly laid out a list of numbered premises, this reading is not a good candidate for outlining the argument, and you won’t get credit for it!
Group B: Queries

Identifying missing background information, doing some research, and then saying what you learned
Note: “Background” information, by definition, is not information contained in the essay itself (though it might be contained in another reading, a dictionary, an encyclopedia, etc.).
Asking a question and then following up on that question
This could be a clarification question about something that you found unclear or in need of further explanation
Once you’ve laid out your question, you should do some reflection(or research) and then make an educated guess as to what you think the most likely interpretation, explanation, etc. would be (even if you aren’t sure)
This could also be a curiosity question about a specific topic that the reading prompted you to want to learn more about
For curiosity questions, you should then do some research and report back what you learned and if your question got answered
Group C: Connections

Making connections between what you’re reading and what you already know
Try to draw clear and direct connections, explaining how this reading relates to another reading, an idea we discussed in class, something you learned in another class, your life experience, a novel, a TV show, etc.—as long as it’s directly relevant to the reading!
Applying concepts or theories to new contexts
Feel free to expand on an author’s idea and apply it to something new, such as coming up with a new thought experiment or analogy that creatively modifies or goes beyond what’s in the reading while showing your understanding of one of the author’s main ideas or concepts
Group D: Criticism

Constructively criticizing the author’s argument
There are two main ways to criticize an argument:
First, you can ask if one or more of the premises false? (In logical terms, Is the argument sound?)
Can you find (or imagine) a counterexample to one of the author’s central claims? This can take the form of either evidence or a thought experiment that shows one of the author’s claims to be false.
Second, you can ask if the premises fail to support the conclusion? (That is, Is the argument valid?) If we assume, for the sake of argument that the premises are all true, does the conclusion follow?
Note: An argument can have false premises and still be valid!
For any criticisms or objections you’ve raised, you should consider how the author might reply:
Could the author modify their view to avoid the objection you’ve raised while still preserving their basic conclusion? Or is the author forced to abandon their conclusion entirely?
Group E: Epiphanies

Describe something that you changed your mind about while reading
Be sure to describe both what it was that changed your mind (e.g., an analogy, a piece of evidence, etc.) and how it changed.
Describe a realization you had while reading the text
What is an idea you encountered that you hadn’t thought of before, but that seemed both surprising and also obvious once you understood it? Be sure to describe both the realization you had and what brought it about.
Group F: Other

Engage with the text in some other creative way not listed above, as long as it is done in a constructive manner that displays engagement with and mastery of the relevant content. Ideas along these lines include:
Creating a meme or or a TikTok or drawing a picture that that illustrates or displays a clear understanding of a key aspect of the argument
Paraphrasing a key passage or main idea in another writing style (e.g., as a tweet or as a sonnet or as parody song lyrics)
Offering your own original argument, with premises and conclusions clearly identified, in a way that directly engages with the reading or the topic being discussed

Policy Analysis Paper. The purpose of the policy analysis paper is to provide an opportunity to learn more about best college essay help

Policy Analysis Paper. The purpose of the policy analysis paper is to provide an opportunity to learn more about the policy making process and an important current issue of interest to the student; to develop skills in policy analysis, writing, and presenting that are critical to the profession of social work; and to learn more about different roles that social workers and others play in the policy process.

Select an issue on a social welfare topic of major concern (e.g. Health care, mental health, child welfare, substance abuse, housing, immigration, disability etc.) Suggested topics will be discussed in class. Students may meet with the instructor and/or teaching assistants to discuss topics and plans for the project.

Investigate the history of the issue and become familiar with one proposal/bill on your topic and their purpose. Identify particular legislators, organizations, groups, committees, and individuals that worked to pass, amend, or defeat the bill, their positions on the issue, and the methods they used to influence the policy process.

Also, identify groups that might have remained neutral on the bill and why. It may help to approach this project, particularly the policy brief, as if you were working as a staff member of a legislative committee, an aide for a state legislator, or a policy analyst for a governmental or private social welfare agency or another organization concerned about social welfare policy such as a think tank, a membership organization like the National Association of Social Workers, or an advocacy group such as a human services coalition. In any case, prepare the policy brief to thoroughly familiarize your “employer” or others, such as an organization’s constituents or a broader public audience, about the issue and the bill(s) and help them decide what modifications, if any, are needed and why.

bookmark.png Assignment Requirements
6-8 page policy brief.

1. The 6-8-page policy brief should be organized in a manner that is relevant to the issue you have chosen (ideally building upon your Op-Ed) and written in the third person. We will discuss how to write a policy brief in class and study examples of policy briefs. Below are broad topics and points you should cover in your brief to the extent they are important to the bill(s) you selected:

a. A brief introduction to topic stating its/their importance (positive or negative) for social welfare policy in Colorado or the nation. Also, include in the introduction a brief statement of the brief’s purpose (what you intend to accomplish in it or what you want the reader to learn from it).
b. A descriiption of the problem/issue that necessitated or preceded the bill(s). What is the nature of the problem? How widespread is it? How many people are affected? Who (everyone? The poor? particular age groups?) is affected and how? What are the problem’s known or suspected causes? How is the bill(s) intended to address the problem?
c. The historical background, including historical antecedents. How much attention has this problem/issue received historically? How has the problem/issue been handled previously? How has the policy response changed over time? What is the bill(s) or existing policy’s legislative history? What are other state, federal, national, or international policies regarding the problem/issue?
d. What resources or opportunities is the policy expected to provide (e.g., economic opportunity, cash, in-kind services, redistribution of goods and services, empowerment, status, preventive services, education, other)? Who will be covered by the policy and how (e.g., selective entitlement, universal entitlement, means testing, other)? How will the policy be implemented? What are the policy’s intended short- and long-term goals and intended outcomes? Under what administrative agencies will the policy be further developed and implemented? What funding is needed? What provisions are made, if any, for overseeing, evaluating, and coordinating policy implementation to ensure and/or determine its effectiveness? What criteria will be used to determine the policy’s outcomes and effectiveness? How long is the policy expected to exist (i.e., is there a specific requirement for review and continuation)?
e. Identification of individuals and groups concerned about the policy issue and their positions on the issue. Be sure to interview concerned individuals and groups (e.g., elected officials, legislative assistants, members of citizens’ or advocacy groups, human service providers, consumer group members) and, if possible attend meetings of organizations, agencies, and committees where the issue is being discussed. Incorporate information gleaned from these activities in the analysis section of your brief (see point f below) and cite them correctly in the reference section. You may wish to do more than simply list the individuals and groups concerned and their positions and instead weave them into your analysis.
f. An analysis of the policy. The points covered in items f, g, and h are the heart of the policy brief. Address issues such as the value premises or ideological assumptions that underlie the bill. On what knowledge base or scientific grounding, if any, does the proposed change rest? Is there empirical evidence that the change may achieve its intended result(s)? Are the goals just, democratic, and attainable? Is the proposed policy change expected to contribute to a better quality of life for the target population by promoting social and economic justice, self-determination, self-realization, civil liberties or rights, empowerment, or other benefits, or might the bill(s) adversely affect the quality of life of the target or other groups?
g. Your conclusions. Based on your objective analysis, what conclusions have you reached about the proposed policy? Are the goals politically feasible; i.e., is there sufficient legislative support? Is public sentiment favorable toward the goals? Are the goals of the proposed policy economically feasible; i.e., is sufficient funding available to implement the policy and is it likely that funding will be continued as needed in the future? Are the goals administratively feasible; i.e., are there responsible administrative agencies capable of effectively implementing the policy to achieve its stated goals? Might alternative policies better achieve the goals? Is the policy important enough to justify the expenditure of scarce resources?
h. Your recommendations. What are your recommendations regarding the proposed policy? Who do you recommend lead the change?

2. At least 12 references and two interviews correctly cited in APA format and noted in the text of the brief. Include both theoretical and empirical scholarly references and be careful about dubious sources of information (e.g., unsubstantiated references from unknown sources on the Internet). You may ALSO include references from the popular literature (newspapers, magazines) but these can only be a maximum of 6 citations out of the 12. The policy brief should provide a balanced, unbiased, critical evaluation of the bills, presenting accurately and fairly empirical evidence as well as proponent and opponent positions. No matter how strongly you feel about the policy issues and the bills, you are presenting an objective analysis to help others make informed decisions!

Use an Appropriate Leadership/Consultant Theory to Evaluate the Analysis

In Week 4, you summarized the team’s analysis of the data generated and reached conclusions based on the team’s efforts to solve a problem or address a change opportunity.

This week’s lessons are not about the data or conclusions reached. Your task is to formulate an honest appraisal of the decisions made, the actions taken along the journey, and—most importantly—the lessons learned along the path of change.

Create a video presentation in which you:

Assess your leadership approach and your effectiveness to address the problem the team solved or change opportunity the team addressed.

Provide a post mortem analysis of what actions went well (or not) or as planned, and what challenges you were able to overcome (or not).

Remember, there is always another problem to solve or another change opportunity to consider. Be honest with yourself and your team, and then determine which actions would you repeat, and which steps must you take to reach the end of your journey?

I have attached the week 4 assignment as a reference.  I need 7-9 page powerpoint for a video that I will present.

2) Take a tour of Fast Cap with Paul Akers (Links to an external site.)

3) Listen to the podcast of NUMMI Plant (Links to an external site.) in Fremont, California

The prompt for the paper is:

1) Specific 3 examples of how lean has been applied from the video and class discussion.

(2) present examples of how successful companies have implemented lean or TOC to improve their operations based on recent news/journal reports and library research (that is cited at least ONE recent news/journal article or research article about lean systems or a company using lean).

3) Using the operations frameworks or tools that we learned in the class, identify three metrics that could have been used to understand the NUMMI plant operations strategy and save the plant or improve its operations. Just defining the framework or tool earns a minimum point.

For example – one of the metrics is capacity utilization and utilization is the rate at which inputs are transformed to outputs. This will not earn a minimum point. You need to explain how the capacity utilization concept can be implemented for the NUMMI plant and would have helped the plant.

(4) How might it affect jobs in your major or your future job? ( the mere answer – Lean is not applicable in my major will not earn any points.)

Frameworks and tools refer to Operations Strategy, Process strategy and analysis, Capacity planning, and Waiting Lines, Lean Systems, Theory of Constraints, Forecasting and Inventory Management, Quality management.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS, INSTRUCTIONS AND ADVICE

Before Writing

One of the keys to writing a good paper is to be clear about what you want to say. You should, therefore, try to get as clear as you can about your topic before you start writing. Your views might evolve as you go along – that is to be expected – but, if you don’t have some objectives in mind before starting to write, you will have nothing to give you direction.

You should definitely make an outline of your essay, and you should plan on writing several drafts. You cannot expect to write a good paper in one draft. You may discuss your topic with other students in the class, as this is often a very helpful and enjoyable way to develop ideas. In the end, of course, you must write your paper yourself.

Points of Style

Remember that you are writing an essay and so, obviously, you must write in complete sentences with appropriate paragraph breaks, and so forth. Other than this, there is no special format that you need to use. It sometimes helps the reader to follow what’s being said if an essay is divided into different sections with appropriate headings and sub-headings. This is up to you, though there shouldn’t be too many headings, otherwise your paper will appear too fragmented.

You may use a somewhat informal writing style if you wish. For example, use of the first person is acceptable, as in “My own view is ..” or “I am inclined to think that …” However, be careful not to overwork such phrases, and avoid being too colloquial. It is best to write in a clear, straightforward style. Don’t try to sound too intellectual or academic, especially if you don’t feel comfortable or natural writing in such a style.
Organization

It is probably best to start your essay by stating as clearly as you can what issue you are going to be discussing. You may have to provide some background before you begin to develop your own ideas, and you may also need to clarify the question you are addressing, but you should do this as concisely as you can so that the bulk of the essay consists of your critical discussion of the issue.

Comments about Content

Remember that this is primarily a discussion paper, not a research paper. You may consult library or Internet sources for additional information about your topic, but this is not mainly what we are looking for. In writing your essay your main goal should be to say something interesting about the topic you have selected. To say something interesting about it, you must say something that is original and creative. This is another reason why you must think carefully about your topic before you begin writing, as you must determine whether you have any interesting things to say about it. If you can’t seem to come up with anything, switch to another topic.

Originality

Keep in mind that the purpose of writing a term paper, or writing anything for that matter, is to say something original. Your main goal in your paper must therefore be to say something new, or something that, as far as you are aware, is new and interesting about the issue of the meaning of life. You don’t want to merely repeat what others have written about this issue. Saying some new about an issue that is also plausible, whether in philosophy or any other subject is difficult, but do the best you can.

Give Arguments

Remember also that this is a philosophical paper, not an exercise in rhetoric. It is not enough merely to express your opinion, regardless of how elegantly you do so. I want you to be as forceful and persuasive as you can be, of course, but you must not engage in overstatement or exaggeration. To be persuasive in writing a philosophical paper means supporting your views by carefully reasoned and detailed arguments.

Servant Leadership Comprehensive Case Study
Each student will identify and select a leader that they have access to and that they would identify as a servant leader. The student will interview the leader to obtain the following information:

How do they get others committed to their vision or mission?

How do they react if they have an employee that is struggling in their work and not showing any progress? Do they think that character can be taught?

After they achieved success, how did they avoid getting a “big head?”

A leader must mentor, but they also have to discipline from time to time. How do they balance these elements? What have they learned, good and bad, from the leaders they have worked for in the past?

After completing the interview, the student must analyze the leader’s responses.  Was their own self-assessment accurate?  Are they truly a servant leader?

The student will synthesize the interview details and their analysis into a paper (5- page minimum).

Usually business writing incorporates APA format. Case length is not an important consideration in my grading strategy.

The questions posed are meant to guide you in developing an analytical framework that you must present in a case report. Usually you can incorporate your responses in sections C and D described below. I cannot prescribe a single outline or template, but I can identify “building blocks” that are essential to building a logical structure that will stand up to critical scrutiny, and serve as a useful guide to presenting the results of your in depth case analysis. Essential building blocks and structure are as follows:

1. Do wars require aggressors? Many observers of WWI have argued that the Great Powers had stumbled into a war all would have preferred to avoid. During the Cold War, many worried the United States and the USSR might repeat these mistakes and inadvertently start a mutually destructive nuclear war. Others note how the United States and the Soviet Union managed to avoid war despite numerous crises, and argue that wars typically require a truly aggressive state such as Nazi Germany in WWII. How concerned should we be about inadvertent war?

2. What role did nuclear weapons play in the Cold War? How has that role changed today, if at all? Do nuclear weapons cause peace or risk enormously destructive war, if not extinction? Would it be wise to get rid of nuclear weapons? Alternatively, should we reduce arsenal sizes? Take other measures to make nuclear war less likely? Defend your answer and provide historical illustrations to support your case.

3. How important have pathological ideas been as a cause of war? Over the course of the semester, we’ve discussed how militarism, imperialism, fascism, nationalism, and racism may have influenced the outbreak of Great Power wars. Some would go so far as to argue that such pathological ideas are a prime cause of international conflict. To what degree would you agree with this and why? If ideas do play an important role in causing war, what can we do about it?

4. It is commonly asserted in the public discourse that religion and ideology are major drivers of war. Many see the Cold War as having been about ideology, the implication being that had the United States and the Soviet Union not been so divided ideologically, the Cold War could have been averted. Do you agree with this assessment? Why or why not?

5. There has not been a war among the Great Powers since WWII: we are currently living in a “Long Peace” that has lasted 76 years and counting. What are the most important factors that account for this? Is the current peace likely to endure? What might change that? Some have argued that this Long Peace is so stable and durable that we should concern ourselves with issues such as terrorism, nuclear nonproliferation, and regional and civil conflict rather than the promotion of peace among the Great Powers. Do you agree with this assessment? Why or why not?

You will continue to evaluate the analysis memo in Assignment 2. Here is the context again

You ask your analyst to examine data on service delivery across substance abuse treatment providers in three cities: Chicago, IL; Washington, D.C.; and, Los Angeles, CA. Each provider in this data set treats individuals with alcohol and/or drug use problems. In addition to basic information about the characteristics of clients, the data file contains some basic information on the dimensions of services delivery or of services offered. The dataset also includes a measure of program success—the percent of clients free of substance use for 6 months (both alcohol and drugs). This has been determined from several random drug tests given the clients during the time. (Clients had to agree to the drug tests to participate in the program. Ignore the legal issues surrounding this, and assume no attrition of clients.) You are now ready to look at the impact that the different dimensions of these programs have on the clients remaining substance free. All of the persons in the dataset have experienced some type of treatment, so there is no comparison group, which received no treatment. However, the clients have attended different providers, which provide a different array of services. Unfortunately, the data is only available at the provider level, not individual client. You have collected some control variables to reflect the differences in the client population served by each center.

Dimensions of Service Delivery

cityid

City identifier

hotline

Does facility operate or staff a hotline that provides substance abuse counseling and/or
referrals?

prevntn

Does the facility offer preventative services?

facility

Type of facility. Inpatient clinics involve overnight or long-term stays for more severe problems, outpatient clinics treat and release patients with less severe problems.

waitlist

Does the facility maintain a waitlist that notifies clients when a service slot or opening exists?

waitnum

Number of people on the waitlist.

socserv

Does the facility help clients locate additional governmental social services (i.e., welfare, food stamps, Medicaid)?

healthed

Does the facility offer health education services (i.e., nutrition, infectious disease, STDs)?

parent

Does the facility offer parenting or family skills development?

Three days later, the analyst gives you the analysis.

Please discuss what you get from the analysis in the attachment ; what do you want to know further; and your evaluation of the analysis. Focus on the following points.

How do you evaluate the analysis? Is it sufficient to inform you of the service delivery among these three cities?
What else do you want to know?
What other analysis would you like to ask your analysis to conduct?
How do you evaluate the analysis?
The Analysis Memo

In the following memo, we will examine data on service delivery for substance abuse treatment providers in three cities: Chicago, Il, Washington, DC and Los Angeles, CA. Each provider in the data set treats individuals with alcohol and/or drug use problems. Aside from this basic characteristic, additional basic information on client characteristics included patients’ age, ethnicity, gender, whether they were single mothers or not and the percent of clients who remained alcohol and/or drug free for six months of treatment. At the same time, we examined several characteristics for each of the three providers, including the provider’s location, whether the providers offer a hotline and preventive services, whether the providers are an inpatient or outpatient, whether or the providers have a wait list and, if so, how many people are on the list, and whether or not the providers assist their patients with seeking social services, health education services and parenting or family skills development.

The data is displayed at the providers’ level, but every single patient included in the data has received some type of treatment. Each provider provides a different array of services and the following memo will look at the different dimensions of these programs and their impact on keeping the clients substance free.

We will look at how service delivery varies across the three cities. For starters, we can see that for most of the patients, hotline services are not provided across all three cities, with those in Los Angeles, CA receiving the least amount of help here. Los Angeles also showed a higher rate of prevention services, with both Washington, D.C. and Chicago, IL providers split down the middle in this service area. Both Los Angeles and Chicago showed a significant preference towards in-patient services, whereas Washington was, again, split down the middle with their in-patient verses out-patient services. Washington did, however, show a higher rate in favor of not having too many people on their waiting list, while Los Angeles did and Chicago was pretty much split even either way. Neither city had many people on their waiting lists. More patients in Los Angeles and Chicago did not receive assistance with social services than in Washington. Moreover, patients in all three cities received less health education services than the number that did. Likewise, more patients in all three cities did not receive parenting/family skills development training than the number that did.

In taking a closer look at the patients across all three cities, we come to see that patients in Los Angeles are more likely to have drug related problems, with Chicago patients the least likely. However, in terms of alcohol abuse, the number of Washington and Chicago patients was pretty much neck and neck, with the number of patients from Los Angeles trailing behind. Most cities’ patients were between twenty-five to thirty-four years of age and while most of Washington’s patients were black, most of Los Angeles’ and Chicago’s patients were white. Interestingly, Chicago had the highest number of both male and female patients. Patients in Los Angeles were more likely to be single moms, followed by Chicago and then Washington. Most importantly though, when examining the number of patients who were substance free for six months, Los Angeles showed the least number of patients, while Chicago and Washington came in (almost neck to neck) almost double the number of patients as Los Angeles. Thus, one could conclude that both the programs in Chicago and Washington showed more favorable results with patients who demonstrated success at refraining from substance abuse with six month of treatment.

The assignment is below:
1. a) Locate the art piece by a Deaf/De’Via artist that you initially picked and your discussion of it for the Week 1 Discussion.
b) Explain in 100-150 words max how the information in Lign 7 has altered your perception of this art piece given what you now know about language, history, and culture of Deaf people in the USA.

As stated above, please just write a 100-150 word paragraph, to answer how in-depth knowledge of “language, history, and culture of Deaf people in the USA” would alter my perception of “week 1 discussion.” I will attach my week 1 discussion, professor’s feedback, and links below. So, basically, I just need your professional knowledge about linguistic about deaf people in USA and incorporate the knowledge into my week 1 discussion. Thank you!
Also, Don’t worry about the deadline too much, if you need some extra time is totally fine.

My week 1 Discussion:
Dr. Betty G. Miller was a professional born to deaf artists in Philadelphia, United States. Her work depicts the deaf experience expressed in the most appropriate form of communication: visual art. In her artwork “Celebration”, depicts a different communication form for deaf people: gestures. Dr. Miller mainly used cold color to fulfill the background, contrasting the color difference to convey the idea of oppression of the deaf people. In the artwork, Dr. Miller enlarges people’s hands as well as coloring the hands to warm color, indicating the importance for deaf people to communicate through gestures and deaf people feel the world’s emotions through gesture movements. Dr. Miller did not put many details to people’s ears in this artwork, instead, she emphasized more on deaf people’s communication form: gestures by enlarging hands. Dr. Miller used color autonomy as a phenomenon, allowing each color to give its own space and agency. Expressionism is the theme that Dr. Miller delivered to the audience: people’s gesture refers to acceptance and embracement, refusing the priority of illusionism. Another aspect of this work shows the deaf people are more sensitive to emotions than normal people, such as different definitions of rude. Deaf people have cognitive benefits, so they pay more attention to the visual periphery. Dr. Miller mainly used warm colors to contrast the color in the background.

Professor’s feedback:
Good job here – just a few notes:
while you did a very nice job interpreting the art piece you chose, I think you could have made stronger connections to class material (e.g. you mention that deaf people pay more attention to the visual periphery, but I’m not sure this art piece shows this – the focus is actually on the centre of the painting, it seems). We also might want to avoid referring to hearing people as “normal”, because it kind of makes deaf people sound like they’re “not normal” – I’d suggest simply saying “hearing” vs “deaf” to avoid accidentally implying this

There are three components of the cash conversion cycle.  The first component is the inventory conversion period or the age of inventory.  This is the average length of time required to convert raw materials into finished goods and then sell those goods.
The second component of the cash conversion cycle is the receivables collection period or the age of receivables.  (Also known as days sales outstanding). This is the average length of time required to convert the firm’s receivables into cash.  (Simply put, collecting on a sale made on credit).  This is also known as days sales outstanding.  The final component of the cash conversion cycle is the payables deferral period.  This indicates the average length of time between the purchase of raw materials and labor and the payment of cash for this investment.
The cash conversion cycle provides the net of the three different components described and it provides the length of time from when the firm pays for the means of production and when it receives a cash return on this investment.  It is essentially the length of time that a dollar is tied up in current assets.
It is important to manage the cash conversion cycle because a firm’s goal should be to shorten this cycle as much as possible without harming operations. This aids in improving profits, because the longer the cash conversion cycle, the greater the necessity for additional outside financing.

As stated in the text, the cash conversion cycle focuses on the lengths of time between when the company makes cash payments, or invests in the manufacture of inventory, and when it receives cash inflows, or realizes a cash return from its investment in production. During the cash conversion cycle, there are three other periods used in the model and they are: 1). the inventory conversion period (age of inventory) is the average length of time required to convert raw materials into finished goods and then to sell those goods and the amount of time that the product remains in inventory in various stages of completion, 2). the receivables collection period (age of receivables) is the average length of time required to convert the firm’s receivables into cash or to collect cash following a credit sale, 3). the payables deferral period (age of payables) is the average length of time between the purchase of raw materials and labor and the payment of cash for them. Therefore, the fourth period, the cash conversion cycle computation nets out the three periods, resulting in a value that equals the length of time from when the firm pays for (invests in) productive resources (materials and labor0 and when it receives cash ( a return) from the sale of products. The cash convenience cycle equals the average length of time that a dollar remains tied up (invested) in current assets.

Make an outline for an essay along these lines. I will attach the links to use as sources as listed in the rubric and the start of the outline that I attempted but don’t want to finish.

Outline Instructions: The outline for your proposed research paper must include the following components:
An Original Title
Please include an original title with your research paper outline.

Introduction Section
Include the following information in the introduction:

A statement of the puzzle (your why question).
An explicit statement of your answer to the puzzle (this is your thesis). Put your thesis in the following way: “In this paper, I will argue that _______________.”
Clearly state what discussion or topic your ‘paper’ contributes to (i.e. nationalism or democratization, etc).
Substantiation Section
Demonstrate that there is indeed a counterintuitive puzzle. Do not assume that your puzzle is clear. Prove that your ‘why question’ is a sound one through empirical (factual) information. Cite sources (in-text parenthesis) appropriately.

Evidence Section
Develop three sections of evidence that support your thesis. Each argument (evidence) should have its own section in the outline.

State each supporting argument clearly and explicitly link your argument to your thesis.
Cite evidence that demonstrates your supporting arguments.
Cite sources (in-text parenthesis) appropriately.
Conclusion Section
Re-cap your argument and discuss why this case is important.

Works Cited Section

Provide a list of all sources cited in the outline and used to provide background information for your proposed paper. This list may expand upon the sources submitted in the annotated bibliography. Please cite using APA format.
