Q1. A 35-year-old female presented to her primary care provider complaining of fatigue and weakness to her extremities that worsens best college essay help: best college essay help

Q1. A 35-year-old female presented to her primary care provider complaining of fatigue and weakness to her extremities that worsens throughout the day. She states that her weakness does improve at rest, however, she feels most strong in the morning upon awakening. The patient also mentions intermittent inconsistent episodes of slurred speech, difficulty swallowing, and mentions episodes where her head would involuntarily “drop” over the past several weeks. Her primary care provider tested routine blood work, all of which were unremarkable. Her symptoms were attributed to a vitamin B12 deficiency and she was advised to start taking vitamin B12 supplements to help improve her symptoms. Two weeks later, the patient presents to the emergency room in severe respiratory distress for which the patient was placed on BiPAP under observational status with consideration for intubation. Once stabilized and started on corticosteroids, a physical examination is performed. The patient is noted to have right-sided ptosis. On neurologic examination, the patient is noted to have 3/5 strength to her upper and lower extremities bilaterally. When asked to sit up, the patient is able to sit up with assistance, however, she is unable to maintain an upright posture without assistance, suggestive of a mild truncal ataxia. Based on the patient’s clinical description, what is most likely the diagnosis missed by her primary care provider and what is the appropriate treatment moving forward for this patient? Please be sure to address the etiology of the patient’s condition in your initial response. Q2: A 38-year-old male with a PMHx of hypertension and a known history of an inherited disorder involving a missense mutation to the FBN-1 gene presents to the emergency room complaining of an sudden sharp “tearing” chest pain and shortness of breath. On physical examination, the patient is noted to have jugular vein distention and a weak, rapid pulse. His heart rate is noted to be 115 bpm and his blood pressure is 80/40 mmHg. EKG and chest xray are unremarkable. CTA of the chest is suggestive of pericardial effusion. As the patient is awaiting admission for an echocardiogram and most likely surgery, he goes into cardiac arrest and is unable to be resuscitated. Discuss possible findings on autopsy and microscopic examination that would support the patient’s cause of death?

Total Points Possible:  150 Points
Requirements:
Post a written response in the discussion forum to EACH threaded discussion topic:
This week we learned about the potential benefits and drawbacks to clinical decision support systems (CDSSs). Create a “Pros” versus “Cons” table with a column for “Pro” and a separate column for “Con”. Include at least 3 items for each column. Next to each item, provide a brief rationale as to why you included it on the respective list.
The primary goal of a CDSS is to leverage data and the scientific evidence to help guide appropriate decision making. CDSSs directly assist the clinician in making decisions about specific patients. For this discussion thread post, you are to assume your future role as an APN and create a clinical patient and scenario to illustrate an exemplary depiction of how a CDSS might influence your decision. This post is an opportunity for you to be innovative, so have fun!
Adhere to the following guidelines regarding quality for the threaded discussions in Canvas:
For each threaded discussion per week, the student will select no less than TWO scholarly sources to support the initial discussion post.
Scholarly Sources: Only scholarly sources are acceptable for citation and reference in this course. These include peer-reviewed publications, government reports, or sources written by a professional or scholar in the field. The textbooks and lessons are NOT considered to be outside scholarly sources. For the threaded discussions and reflection posts, reputable internet sources such as websites by government agencies (URL ends in .gov) and respected organizations (often ends in .org) can be counted as scholarly sources. The best outside scholarly source to use is a peer-reviewed nursing journal.  You are encouraged to use the Chamberlain library and search one of the available databases for a peer-reviewed journal article.  The following sources should not be used: Wikipedia, Wikis, or blogs.  These websites are not considered scholarly as anyone can add to these. Please be aware that .com websites can vary in scholarship and quality.  For example, the American Heart Association is a .com site with scholarship and quality.  It is the responsibility of the student to determine the scholarship and quality of any .com site.  Ask your instructor before using any site if you are unsure. Points will be deducted from the rubric if the site does not demonstrate scholarship or quality. Current outside scholarly sources must be published with the last 5 years.  Instructor permission must be obtained BEFORE the assignment is due if using a source that is older than 5 years.

Week 5 – Ethical Issue Presentation – DueOct 2, 2021 11:55 PMPHIL200 D009 Summer 2021Assignment Instructions Create an 8-10 slide PPT, or some other presentation, that accomplishes the following: Chos college essay help near me

Some conundrums will have much more weight on one side than the other such as climate change.
Reiterate the primary theories contained in your moral compass from week 3 and then explain the position on this issue your compass promotes.
Include a proper references/works cited slide (APA or MLA).
For example, say you want to address gender-neutral bathrooms in public buildings. First, present some research from sources promoting that they should exist and from sources promoting they should not. Then reiterate the components of your moral compass as stated in the week three paper. Note, your compass may have evolved and if so, work in the new components. Finally, state your position clearly (they should or should not exist) and how your compass justifies that position.
Keep in mind these best practices, please:
Proper PPTs have bullets on the slide that are explained in the notes section (see video on how to do this if you do not know how).
If you intend to narrate the presentation, be sure to include the transcript in the notes section (see PPT on how to insert audio if you do not know and want to give that a shot).
If, for any reason you are unable to access the notes section, put the transcript/notes in a MS Word document in a numbered list with the numbers matching the slide.
Keep the viewer in mind (teacher). While you might work hard on a 20-minute presentation, few faculty members have the time to watch or listen to it.
Just like papers, clear citations must appear on the slide or in the notes to justify listing a resource as a reference.

He proposed a thought experiment wherein he proffers an ideal “original position.” The idea is that representatives of the people operate behind a “veil of ignorance” when determining what policies are in the best interests of all of the citizens. In brief, representatives are ignorant of their “The race, ethnicity, gender, age, income, wealth, natural endowments, comprehensive doctrine, etc. of any of the citizens in society, or to which generation in the history of the society these citizens belong” and “The political system of the society, its class structure, economic system, or level of economic development” (Wenar 4.6). They do understand different people have different life plans, that even if resources are scarce, “there is enough to go around,” and have good common sense.
Discussion task: Imagine you are a representative behind this veil. Discuss and defend several measures you would take to ensure a fair and equitable redistribution of resources.

Case Study: How Boeing Lost Its Way Preparation Review the following: Dimensions of Organizational Culture How Culture Is Created and Maintained 2.3 Identifying Ethical Issues Your Assignmen college essay help near me

3 Identifying Ethical Issues
Your Assignment
First, read/watch the following:
How Boeing Lost Its Way
Relaxed F.A.A. Oversight At Root of Boeing’s Crisis
Congressional Report Faults Boeing on MAX Design, FAA for Lax Oversight
Next, based on what you read and watched, answer the following questions:
How did Boeing’s organizational culture change after it acquired McDonnell Douglas? Focus on 1–3 dimensions that are most prominent.
Symbols, one type of cultural artifact, reinforce organizational culture by conveying to employees who is important and the kinds of behavior that are expected and appropriate. By moving the company’s headquarters from Seattle to Chicago in 2001, what message did Boeing leaders convey?
Was Boeing’s decision to conceal the Maneuvering Characteristics Augmentation System (MCAS) an ethical failure, cultural failure, or both? Explain.
One of the most common ethical dilemmas is conflict of interest. According to The Wall Street Journal article, the Congressional report reiterates earlier complaints by lawmakers that Boeing was able to exert undue influence over the FAA, partly because regulators delegated much of their oversight responsibilities to Boeing employees authorized to act on the government’s behalf. How is this situation a classic conflict of interest and what steps should have been taken to avoid it in the first place?
Boeing and the FAA agreed the MCAS’s software needed a major redesign, though the Congressional report indicates FAA officials allowed the plane to keep flying despite multiple prior certification blunders pertaining to the MAX. Making solid ethical decisions often requires moral courage. What are some likely reasons that the FAA did not show the moral courage to stand up to Boeing in the face of these safety concerns?
Write approximately 2–3 pages in total, using 12-point font, double-spacing, and one-inch margins.
Number your answer to each question.
Incorporate course concepts and include appropriate reasons, evidence, and/or examples as support for your position.
Demonstrate exceptional control of grammar, paragraph structure, punctuation, sentence construction, and spelling.

in a few sentences, explain what an abstract is and what key pieces of information you can expect to extract from one

2) For this item, please refer to the following abstract of a study conducted by Webster, Crisafi, and Vernick (2014):

In the USA, homicide is a leading cause of death for young males and a major cause of racial disparities in life expectancy for men. There are intense debate and little rigorous research on the effects of firearm sales regulation on homicides. This study estimates the impact of Missouri’s 2007 repeal of its permit-to-purchase (PTP) handgun law on states’ homicide rates and controls for changes in poverty, unemployment, crime, incarceration, policing levels, and other policies that could potentially affect homicides. Using death certificate data available through 2010, the repeal of Missouri’s PTP law was associated with an increase in annual firearm homicides rates of 1.09 per 100,000 (+23 %) but was unrelated to changes in non-firearm homicide rates. Using Uniform Crime Reporting data from police through 2012, the law’s repeal was associated with increased annual murders rates of 0.93 per 100,000 (+16 %). These estimated effects translate to increases of between 55 and 63 homicides per year in Missouri.

What did the authors set out to do in this study? What did they find? In this case, use your own words. Do not simply re-write sentences in the abstract.

3) For this item, refer to the abstract of a study of firearm laws conducted by Siegal et al (2017):

Objectives. To examine the relation of “shall-issue” laws, in which permits must be issued if requisite criteria are met; “may-issue” laws, which give law enforcement officials wide discretion over whether to issue concealed permits or not; and homicide rates. Methods. We compared homicide rates in shall-issue and may-issue states and total, firearm, nonfirearm, handgun, and long-gun homicide rates in all 50 states during the 25-year period of 1991 to 2015. We included year and state fixed effects and numerous state-level factors in the analysis. Results. Shall-issue laws were significantly associated with 6.5% higher total homicide rates, 8.6% higher firearm homicide rates, and 10.6% higher handgun homicide rates, but were not significantly associated with long-gun or nonfirearm homicide. Conclusions. Shall-issue laws are associated with significantly higher rates of total, firearm-related, and handgun-related homicide.

In this study, the authors sought to understand the associations among two types of gun regulation laws (“shall-issue” and “may-issue”) and homicide rates. To the best of your ability, explain in your own words how the authors sought to understand the associations, if any. Then, explain in your own words what associations existed, if any.

4) For this item, refer once again to Siegel et al (2017):

True or False: The data show that “shall-issue” laws cause higher rates of handgun-related homicides? ( IS THIS TRUE OR FALSE?)

5) For this item, refer to the full article written by Webster, Crifasi, and Vernick (2014) (Links to an external site.).

What did the authors find in 2008, the first full year after Missouri repealed its permit-to-purchase licensing law? (15)
According to the authors, what are permit-to-purchase (PTP) laws? What are they designed to do? (15)
Webster, Crifasi, and Vernick offer a caution about these findings and what should be done next (by lawmakers and supporters of increased gun regulations). Explain the nature of that warning. (15)

3 Understanding Decision Making
The 5 Whys Problem-Solving Method
Your Assignment
Think of a decision you’re currently facing (or one that you’ve recently faced). Analyze the decision using the eight-step decision-making process outlined in Figure 11.8 in the textbook. In your response, summarize your analysis for each step of the process, clearly identifying each of the eight steps (e.g., identify the problem, etc.) using a numbered/bulleted list or separate paragraphs.
Before you begin your analysis, review the following notes:
Step 1. Identify the problem: A problem exists when there is a discrepancy between an existing and desired state (e.g., standards, goals, etc.). An important part of defining the problem is to distinguish symptoms from cause. Consider using the Five Whys technique (if applicable) to identify the root cause of the problem.
Step 3. Weigh decision criteria: You don’t necessarily have to assign numerical weights. At the very least, rank your decision criteria in order of importance.

Watchmen Rhetorical Analysis essay help site:edu: essay help site:edu

Now that you have read Chapters 4-6 of Watchmen along with the supplemental materials that follow each chapter (pages 110-211 in our edition for this class), come up 2-3 examples where a rhetorical appeal or strategy is being used by the author, illustrator, or colorist. Be sure to indicate the chapter/section and page number, and also explain which strategy is being used, and why. Include at least one image from the graphic novel to help illustrate what you are discussing. (This can be a screenshot, Google Searched Image, or Cell Phone Image). Please make sure you are embedding the images, not attaching them, since you don’t want students to have to download anything. Use the Insert function and then select “Image” and “Upload Image.”

Below are some sample questions to take into consideration for your talking points in this discussion. Feel free to choose whichever ones you want to focus on:

Which rhetorical appeals (logos, pathos, ethos) are used to build characters within the story?
Are there any fallacies used intentionally by the writer to demonstrate that a character has faulty logic? (In this case, the use of fallacies could be strategic, not an error.)
Are certain colors used to enhance emotions (the appeal to pathos), such as fear, happiness, sadness, nostalgia, outrage, etc.?
Are certain objects or the expressions/movements of characters used to enhance or demonstrate the emotions of characters (appeal to pathos)?
How is the story organized (which strategies were used), and does it enhance or detract from the plot?
Which literary devices are used to enhance the dialogue, the plot, or characterization (similes, metaphors, allusions, hyperboles, etc.)?

This video should provide some useful tips for how to approach sequential art in general.

Below are some comic book terms that can be helpful when discussing comics/graphic novels

Panel: A single frame or box that generally contains one sequence or segment of action. Pages may consist of a single panel or may contain several panels (a row of panels is called a tier, a full page illustration is known as a splash, and a spread is an image that spans two or more pages) of uniform or varied sizes. The varied sizes generally help to create pacing. Panels also may be used for different purposes. Content panels can either be word panels, image panels, or a combination of word and image panels. As a forewarning, I will use the term frame occasionally interchangeably with panel.

Gutter: The blank space between panels is “the gutter.” Action that occurs here is not literally seen or experienced by the reader; rather, it is to be inferred.

Bleed: An image that extends to/beyond the edge of a page

Splash Panel

A panel that takes up the space of several panels in the comic in order to introduce or highlight an action or character. Splash panels are similar to splash pages, which take up the whole page of a comic to help introduce or give special attention to battles or particular events.

Foreground: The panel or part of a panel that is closest to the viewer

Midground: The center of a panel – how an author uses this space helps to create tone and mood. In other words, a graphic novelist might choose to place an image off-center to create a certain tension in the text. Our eyes tend to gravitate toward the middle or midground; when items we expect to be there are not, it can be disconcerting.

Background: The backdrop of an image where illustrators will tend to place objects that help create backstory, subtext, or other additional information

Speech Balloon: Speech balloons indicate dialogue in a text (although they may serve as thought balloons/bubbles). I will use the terms speech/dialogue/word balloon or bubble interchangeably. Pay attention to the shapes of the balloon as they can serve, in a way, as form of punctuation or statement of emotion. They are part of the illustration, not merely the words. Treat their shapes and lettering as such.

Captions: Captions are information bubbles or boxes that are generally separate from the rest of the panel or page. Often, captions are used to create a voice-over technique to the action in front of us. They are also spaces for soliloquies, personal thoughts, and, occasionally, dialogue. Read them carefully.

Sound-Effects Lettering: Graphic novels often include sounds in their works. These words are often separate from speech balloons; however, like speech balloons, the fonts, colors, and lettering of sound effects are important and should be considered as parts of the text worthy of your consideration.

Figure: For the most part, we will be concerned with the basic aspects of a figure or figure drawing when we consider graphic novels. Faces, hands, feet, eyes…see how these elements are fragmented or constructed visually on the page. What is revealed? What is missing? In a graphic novel, body language can help reveal mood or tone much more easily than words, so look at figures carefully (and, remember, while many graphic novels follow humanoid protagonists, not every figure will be human in scope!).

Iconography: Iconography is both visual and images used in a work of art as well as a collection of illustrations. Artists often draw from these collected images or symbols in order to create their art; however, not every artist adheres to traditional or conventional depictions!

Chiaroscuro: Graphic novels rely on graphic weight to signify importance. One method used to create this weight is chiaroscuro – the contrast of light and dark in a work of art.

Comics: While as an adjective, the word “comic” denotes “funny” (as your Sunday morning comics would hopefully agree), comics or sequential art can be satirical, political, funny, tragic, etc.

Graphic Novel: Typically, we understand graphic novels to be a book of comics. The accuracy of this term is much-debated with some even suggesting that graphic novels exists only as a term to offer credibility to the genre. For our purposes – like with the debate over short stories, novellas, and novels – we will consider any comics of significant length to be graphic novels.

Closure: The use of prior knowledge to “fill in the gutters” and innately create narrative sequencing in a series of panels.

KEY PLAYERS:

Cartoonist: The artist who is also the writer. We must acknowledge, however, that not all graphic novels are single author ventures. Sometimes, graphic novels will have a primary writer who plots out the basic narrative structure and dialogue. Furthermore, most graphic novels also require a letterer – someone to go in and fill in the speech/dialogue/word balloons after the writer is done working. This task may or may not be the responsibility of the artist, pending on how skillful the artist is.

Artist: The person responsible for all the artistic duties. However, as graphic novels are often highly collaborative ventures, this role might be broken down into even smaller subsets. Essentially, a penciller works as a sketch artist – laying down the figures’ placement on a page, background details, setting, etc. The layout work done in the penciling stage is then turned over to an inker (who, again, may also be the artist, who may also be the cartoonist…or not, you need to read the citation information carefully). An inker darkens the work using, generally, India ink and either brush or pen. If the work requires color, this task might fall to a Colorist, who will add color to the finished pieces in order to help create the right mood or tone to the finished novel.

Formatting and length guidelines:

You should use APA (American Psychological Association) guidelines for formatting the title page (make sure you give your paper a meaningful title like “Financial Analysis of XYZ company”), references, in-text citations, and subheads. Some (free) helpful sites on how to do APA style citations are on the PBSC library website.Links to an external site.

Correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation are expected. You are also expected to write formally at a collegiate level.
Research guidelines:

Go to Yahoo FinanceLinks to an external site.. The instructions that follow refer to how to locate the information in Yahoo, but you may choose to use Hoover’s through the PBSC library website (if you are unsure how to locate and search within Hoover’s, please contact library support from the library website) or obtain the financials directly from the company.

Search for the company you wish to analyze. If you choose a publicly traded company, their financials will be listed in Yahoo Finance and Hoover’s. If you choose a private company, you must obtain their financials directly from them and submit the financials as appendices to your final project.
On the bottom left-hand corner of the company’s page on Yahoo Finance is a section called “Financials.” There should be three links — Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow. If the company you picked does not have one of those or does not have three years’ worth of data for each of those, then pick another company.
You should have at least four sources other than the textbooks in the class. These sources can be websites, newspaper or journal articles, or books. Don’t forget to cite the source of your financials (Yahoo Finance or otherwise). You may use any legitimate source (i.e., National Enquirer, Wikipedia is not acceptable, but NY Times is).

In discussing the education narrative genre, we have explored works by Frederick Douglass, Malcolm X, Anita Jang, and Plato. In college application essay help

In discussing the education narrative genre, we have explored works by Frederick Douglass, Malcolm X, Anita Jang, and Plato. In these pieces, the writers discuss how certain experiences have shaped their understanding of the world and/or their educational journeys. For this assignment you will use these writers as models (and perhaps inspiration) and write an education narrative of your own. Choose one of the following options: In “Learning to Read,” Malcolm X discusses how he educated himself while being a prisoner. Likewise, Douglass recalls the process of learning to read and write in the Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass. With these texts in mind, discuss a personal experience that changed how you approached the learning process and/or shifted how you felt about your education. What was this experience? Why and how did it affect you? In your essay, be as specific as possible. Include details that put your reader inside the situation; for example, describe the setting and time period, include dialogue and sensory elements (sights, sounds, smells, etc.). In addition, include your thoughts and feelings about this experience. In Anita Jang’s student essay, she describes conversations she had with her grandmother about the Mona Lisa and how these interactions influenced her. These conversations ultimately led to her interest in the field of graphic design. With her story in mind, write about a valuable moment and/or relationship that shaped your interest in your chosen field. What made this experience valuable? Why and how did it influence your choices? In your essay, be as specific as possible. Include details that put your reader inside the situation; for example, describe the setting and time period, include dialogue and sensory elements (sights, sounds, smells, etc.). In addition, include your thoughts and feelings about this experience. In “The Allegory of the Cave,” the prisoners in the cave have a set view of the world, which is shaped by the limited information available to them. When one prisoner escapes, his experience of leaving the cave, as well as what he discovers outside of it, radically alters his ideas about the world. With Plato’s allegory in mind, write about a moment where you “woke up” in some way. Discuss how this moment changed a central belief, value, or idea you felt certain about for a long time. What was the original belief, value, or idea you had? Why and how did it change? In your essay, be as specific as possible. Include details that put your reader inside the situation; for example, describe the setting and time period, include dialogue and sensory elements (sights, sounds, smells, etc.). In addition, include your thoughts and feelings about this experience. In developing your narrative, and regardless of what you write about, keep in mind Mike Bunn’s “How to Read Like a Writer” and what he says about purpose and audience. Considering these rhetorical elements will help you make decisions about content, style, and tone. Here are the grading criteria for this project: Your narrative… focuses on either one event or on a series of connected events. uses concrete and specific details to create a picture for your reader. has an overall point. reflects thoughtfully on the events discussed. uses carefully chosen words, transitions, and is organized in a manner that makes your meaning clear. uses tone, language, grammar, and sentence structure appropriate for your genre, audience, and purpose. has been carefully proofread. meets the required word count: at least 1000 words! has been submitted on time.

One of the roles of a team manager is to develop and support the members of their team in the workplace. Team managers provide clear guidance to their team members throughout the stages of a team (i.e., forming, storming, norming, and performing). Before coaching a team through the development stages, a team manager must be aware of the type of team that they are managing as well as its role in the organization.

Identify one type of team that is used in the workplace, and explain its importance from both a workforce perspective and an organizational perspective.
Review and consider the types of teams presented by your peers. One way to approach replying to your peers is to share your thoughts on two of your peers’ responses, addressing additional benefits or challenges. Another approach would be to expand on the discussion by providing your perspective through the introduction of additional examples of team types or additional workforce or workplace benefits.

Have you lived through a merger or a departmental consolidation? If not, have you gone through a transfer of your department or group from one department or agency to another (thinking about the consolidation that went on when the Department of Homeland Security was created). How about a major shift of work or duties to or from your department? What were some of the issues that were considered before the decision was made? What have been some of the challenges? The successes? Was there ever a moment when management considered giving it up and leaving well enough alone? If you had been in charge, what would you have done differently?
