Essay Prompt: Imagine that you are asked to make a philosophical argument to lawmakers, who
are trying to decide whether they will allow scientists to invent an artificial intelligence that will
be indistinguishable from human intelligence. You may argue either in favor of this advancement
of science or against it.
How you make that argument is up to you. But one thing is required. You need to explain to the
lawmakers what you see to be the implications of the creation of a “functionally, human
equivalent” artificial intelligence for how we understand ourselves and how we understand
consciousness. In other words, what will it mean for human culture and human self-understanding if we create an artificial intelligence whose functional behavior is outwardly
indistinguishable from human behavior?

Purpose: Consider the definition of learning in your text: “…unlike instincts and reflexes, learned behaviors involve change and experience: college essay help near me

Purpose: Consider the definition of learning in your text: “…unlike instincts and reflexes, learned behaviors involve change and experience: learning is a relatively permanent change in behavior or knowledge that results from experience” (Spielman et al., 2020, p. 192).

Analyze and apply this definition to situations with both sea lions and humans.

Tasks:

Sea Lions: Using the words and ideas from your chapter text (see term list below) what kind of teaching might be used to achieve this sea lion “singing” Gnarls Barkley? What kind of learning terms apply here? Explain in the first part of your post how teaching a sea lion to “sing” Gnarls Barkley would work, and be sure to use several terms in your explanation. Don’t just explain what you see; explain how the animal was trained to do this, preferably in a step-by-step process (again, an outline format may work well here).
Humans: For the second part of your post, apply your explanation about sea lions to how you might improve or “teach” yourself (or another student, if that’s easier to think about) to have better study habits. Explain your proposed step-by-step process. Are you using the same terms? Additional or different terms?
Consider how looking at one situation helps you looks at the other – how are they similar/different?

Here is a partial list of useful terms related to learning that you can apply in your post. You don’t have to use all of them, and be careful not to confuse the different types of learning.

Please do NOT use observational learning/modeling; I have friends who have worked with sea lions, and this could not be taught using that technique.

Here are some tips on how to write a good discussion post. Make sure to cite all information that isn’t common knowledge (When to cite), include a reference section that includes all sources you used and cited from, and use proper APA style. Make sure you paraphrase properly (See here and here) or quote properly. Break down one of the stories we’ve read so far this quarter in the same way (it is around the 40 second mark). What is the main idea of the story, the summary of the story and the theme of the story? Then, respond to one of the prompts below:
Many of the stories we’ve read so far are quite dark (even spooky). Show how any two of the texts use the mood of the story to develop the theme. Each question should have a response of 150 words. Use the first two files to respond to question number 1.

For this paragraph you will being using the Miss Brill article that I have provided. Part of writing an effective analytical research paper (which you will begin working on a little later in the course) involves using evidence directly from your primary texts (the literature itself) as well as the works of other critics and scholars (secondary texts). Therefore, you will need to get comfortable with finding these types of sources, analyzing them, and accurately quoting or paraphrasing from these outside sources in your own writing. This activity helps build these research skills by writing a brief article analysis. The article you choose must provide more than basic biographical information and plot summary to make an opinionated argument about some aspect of the literary work you read in class. Your response should be at least 300-500 words in length and sufficiently address all stated content requirements.

Requirements:

Analysis

In your analysis, you should clearly identify the article author’s thesis and main points by briefly SUMMARIZING the article’s main ideas.
Next, ANALYZE the article author’s argument. What is he or she trying to say about the literary material? What textual evidence does the author provide? What new point or idea is the author trying to introduce about the literature? Also make sure to consider what literary theory the author is using. How can you tell?
Finally, EVALUATE the article author’s argument. Is the article’s thesis relevant or convincing to you? Why or why not? What does the author do (or not do) that helps to convince readers of his or her viewpoints? Would you have used that literary theory in your own analysis of the text? Why or why not?
At some point in your paper, you should include at least one QUOTE and/or one PARAPHRASE from the article, with appropriate in-text citations.

I HAVE ATTACHED SEPARATE ARTICLES FOR  YOU TO SUMMARIZE. THESE ARTICLES ARE IN A SEPARATE FOLDER UNDER A SEPARATE HEADING. PLEASE READ THE ARTICLE, CAREFULLY, USE DIRECT AND INDIRECT QUOTES FROM IT TO PRODUCE YOU PRECIS DOCUMENT.

Reminder on How to Construct Your Submission

A précis is a three-page, single-spaced summary using Times New Roman 12pt font.  For example, if a student has a 25 page article, it can be difficult to come back to page 5 and remember what was in article, but with a summary, students can easily see and remember what they have read and how they have reacted to it (Daniels 22) .

Pay special attention to any divisions that the author has seen fit to use, usually indicated by captions.  This categorization is important to summarizing the information and maintaining the appropriate relationships among ideas.

The level of generality and specificity is determined by the amount of information that can fit into the one-page format.  For example, a 700-page book would be summarized at a greater level of generality than would a 17-page article.

Use quotations from throughout the work: meaning, they must be sure to quote exactly, use quotation marks, and give in-text documentation in MLA.

This will help me to distinguish between your words and those of the author of the work being summarized.

Case Scenario #1: Jimmy Hates Homework A family has contacted you, a Behavior Analyst, to help their son Jimmy Essay college essay help online

Case Scenario #1: Jimmy Hates Homework

A family has contacted you, a Behavior Analyst, to help their son Jimmy be more consistent in completing his homework. His parents are specifically concerned about reading and math. Jimmy’s parents want him to read for 20 minutes per weeknight and practice multiplication for 10 minutes per weeknight. Jimmy is currently reading once a week for 20 minutes and practicing multiplication once a week for 10 minutes. He is a typically developing child with normal intelligence and has the capability to read and complete math at grade level. He is choosing not to read and practice math and is instead choosing to watch television, play video games, and chat with friends online. You have decided that a contingency contract is the best plan to change Jimmy’s behavior. Before you write the contingency contract, though, you need to determine what Jimmy’s preferences are and what would likely be an effective reinforcer. You will prepare a narrated PowerPoint that covers the following topics:

1. Compare two types of preference assessments and identify which would be best to use with Jimmy.

2. Describe how you will conduct the preference assessment.

3. Explain to the parents what a contingency contract is, summarizing the purpose and justifying its use by explaining how contingency contracts have successfully been used in research.

•Develop a contingency contract for Jimmy, including all necessary components:
•Define the target behaviors by writing a 1–2 sentence operational definition that meets all of the following criteria:
•Observable
•Passes the “Dead Man’s” test and the “stranger” test
•Uses no labels or hypothetical constructs
•State how the behaviors will be measured.
•State when the behaviors will be performed.
•Identify the contingency used to change the behavior.
•Identify who is responsible for implementing the contingency.

4. Defend why you expect this procedure to be effective. Include a descriiption of the applicable behavior principles that explain why contingency contracts work.

Can someone assist me with completing this form, I have a family emergency. Only the bold ones need completing. Career Assessment Instrument # 3 Identifying information Author Jackson, Douglas N.; V college essay help online

Only the bold ones need completing.
Career Assessment Instrument # 3
Identifying information
Author   Jackson, Douglas N.; Verhoeve, Marc
Publisher: Sigma Assessment Systems, Inc., Research Psychologists Press Division
Distributors
Date of publication    1977-1997
Descriptive information
General statement of purpose: The Jackson Vocational Interest Survey (JVIS) is presented as an interest inventory intended to help high school students, college students, and adults make educational and vocational decisions, including ones involving midlife career transitions.
Historical development and theoretical or conceptual foundation
Target population: The JVIS was designed for use with several populations and with several purposes. The most common populations are college and high school students. The manual also suggests the JVIS can be used for research into vocational interests and work classification. Although the vocabulary is at the seventh grade level, several of the items seem more complex or abstract than a seventh grade level.
Description of scales:  The 34 Basic Interest scales are shown to be fairly independent of each other, having average interscale correlations of only .28 among males and .24 among females. However, the first 17 Basic Interest scales form one cluster and the second 17 Basic Interest scales form another cluster because the first half of the JVIS consists of science-related scales whereas the second half contains business-related scales. There is a slight negative correlation between the two sets that is due to the forced-choice format. The Basic Interest scales can be reduced to no less than 10 orthogonal factors (i.e., the General Occupational Themes). The Basic Interest scales are also different from scholastic aptitude. Correlations between the JVIS scales and the Scholastic Aptitude Test in a sample of 2,154 students starting Penn State University were generally extremely small, with certain understandable exceptions. As would be expected, SAT Quantitative scores were correlated with the Mathematics (.37), Engineering (.28), and Physical Science (.24) scales. Likewise, it is logical that the Verbal portion of the SAT correlated with the Author-Journalism scale (.21) and Technical Writing scale (.20). A stepwise discriminant analysis using SAT scores and the JVIS to predict the area of study selected by college freshmen found that 23 variables entered the prediction equation for males and 20 variables entered for females, suggesting that the Basic Interest scales of the JVIS were contributing unique information. This study may also be seen as evidence for criterion-related validity.
Administration and scoring
Test and item format
Scoring and interpretation: The JVIS can be hand scored easily by counting the number of A responses selected in each row of the first 17 scales and the number of B responses selected in the columns of the last 17 scales. Hand scoring results in a profile of only the Basic Interest scales. The computer-scored report is much more extensive. In addition to the Basic Interest scales, it includes scores on the General Occupation Themes, an Academic Satisfaction score, and measures of response quality. The nature of these scores is discussed in a narrative portion of the report.
Technical and statistical information
Reliability: The reliability of the JVIS is discussed in terms of internal consistency and temporal stability, examining the (a) individual Basic Scales, (b) General Occupational Themes, and (c) profiles (configuration of scores). The Internal consistency analysis of the individual Basic Interest Scales, based on a sample of high school students (n = 1,573), resulted in coefficients theta that ranged from .70 to .91, with a median of .82. (Theta was used instead of Cronbach’s alpha because the latter may underestimate the reliability of scales with heterogeneous items.) The internal consistency reliability of profiles of Basic Interest was determined on a sample of high school students (n = 1,706) using a method that considers the person-reliability of each individual in the sample. Because this procedure was developed by Jackson and may not be familiar, a brief description is provided. For each person, the item scores on each of the Basic scales were ranked from 1 to 17. Next, the items with odd-numbered ranks from the 34 Basic scales were summed together into a score (X) and the items with the even-numbered ranks were totaled into another score (Y). A correlation was then computed between these two sum scores (i.e., the odd-ranked items with the even-ranked items) and corrected using the Spearman-Brown formula. The frequency distribution of the reliability coefficients, as depicted in the manual, is symmetrical in shape but with a distinct negative skew. The average person reliability is about .80.

I chose the company that I currently work for. I did this for a couple of reasons, the first essay help site:edu

I chose the company that I currently work for. I did this for a couple of reasons, the first being that it is always good to have information on the company that you work for, the second being more information means more knowledge and allows for advancement on my part. Serco was originally established in 1929 as the Radio Corporation of American even though it was based out of the UK. It transferred hands over the years to General Electric and then to the company known now as Serco. It started out providing services to the growing movie industry with its technological advancements in communications and computer programming. This soon led to multiple government contracts for missile defense, communications, and numerous other defense contracts within the UK.

It was not until the late 80’s that Serco was established in the United States under this name. It was bought out by General Electric and then subsequently bought back by founding members in the United States under Chairman George Gray. With the name already being associated with defense contracting in the UK, it was an easy transition to move to defense contracting in the U.S. as well. In the U.S. they control numerous contracts from housekeeping, catering, missile defense, transition assistance to separating service members, even to weapons advancement. It is easy to see how they remain innovative having their hands in so many different pots at any given time. Not to mention to stay relevant in any of these fields or with the government you must remain innovative because the contracts are highly sought after by numerous company’s. In the United States, they have over 20,000 employees that operate in all states, mostly on defense installations. Serco turns a profit of around 950 million as a whole, around 9 million in the U.S. alone.

1.Please summarize the stylistic influences that Hickman describes as pervading film music through the 1950’s. 2.What was the HUAC’s writing essay help: writing essay help

1.Please summarize the stylistic influences that Hickman describes as pervading film music through the 1950’s.

2.What was the HUAC’s effect in the film industry during this time? Include examples from the articles, Hickman, and lesson content.

3.Summarize how Hickman describes the way that a style of music can influence our understanding of the narrative (storyline) of the film? How does this apply to Bernstein’s score to On the Waterfront?

4.Compare and contrast the film music of the 50’s to that of the earlier decades particularly of Max Steiner and Alfred Newman. Provide two examples from each era.

5.Now, on to the film, please, consider how diversity of music styles is evident in Bernstein’s score for On the Waterfront. ex styles include. 1. jazz, 2. grand orchestral music, 3. small combinations of instruments, and 4. harsh dissonant music. Give examples when each of these styles can be heard in the score (use the listening guide to assist) and include a descriiption of the scenes that they underscore. How do you reconcile the style of music with each scene?

6.Broadly, how might you reconcile the diverse music score of OtWF (jazz, harsh dissonances, symphonic elements, and small combinations of instruments) with the realism that Kazan’s film tries to convey?

7.In thinking deeply about the relationship between score and film what do you surmise, this is your personal educated view, that Bernstein is trying to communicate about this story through music?

Jazz music had become the go to musical style of film noir. Its associations with the seedier aspects of life lent itself well to stories of intrigue, alleyways, murder, and sultry romance. From within this style connotation enters the saxophone as jazz’s interlocutor. It develops its own list of representations in film; especially that of the leading lady, of seduction, both often paired with elements of violence.
There were, in the mid 1920’s, generally speaking, big shifts in concert music. Namely, the use of increased dissonance away from tonality, that is, the tension in music to resolve on a ‘home note’. ( An easy example of tonality in music is in nursery rhymes. Sing Mary Had Little Lamb, yet, end the song, ‘Whose fleece was white as!’ The desire to complete the notes ‘snow!’ of the melody is a direct result of having a tonal, home note, established in music.)
Through the film scores of the late forties there is an increased use of free dissonance (no home note established) in film music. To understand some parallels between music and visual art in expressionism note the following characteristics of each field.
Characteristics of expressionism in the visual arts:

* non-representational; not a “straightforward presentation of the external world, but a projection of and internal idea without the use of literal symbols”
* a look into the emotional and psychological state; distorted images; irregular shapes
* portrayal of human terror, haunting anxieties, nightmarish fears, anguish
* materialism, industrialization, disillusionment, fragmentation,
* excursions into the subconscious
* distorting images depict the inner, psychological, subjective world of the artist

Characteristics of expressionism in music:
* episodic, fragmentary form and structure
* abrupt musical language
* clashing dissonances
* interest in common man
* tonality, triadic harmony, and consonance vs. dissonance are not valid anymore
* abstract procedures
* great emotional intensity
Hickman makes reference to the expressionism and serialism influences on film music through composers Franz Waxman Loenard Rosenman.
Bernstein was an exquisite orator and gave a number of lectures at Harvard (made famous as his Harvard Lecture Series).

The events surrounding both the process of writing the scriipt and making the film were difficult to say the least.
For Budd Schulberg, violence and crime were parts of the operating procedures for the the International Longshoreman’s Association, and provided the material and language for the scriipt.
For Elia Kazan, there was the difficulty of being ‘asked’ to testify before the House Un-American Activities Committee (HUAC) and disclose names of persons involved with communist activities. There is considerable debate about how close the narrative of On the Waterfront, specifically, Terry’s testimony against the ILA, mirrors those events of Kazan.
Article linked below

Hickman describes the climactic scene as on that references Aaron Copland. The solo french horn that so often decries the Waterfront leitmotif, and represents both Terry and the waterfront itself may have touches of a work such as Copland’s Fanfare for the Common Man in it. If anything, the solo French horn of Bernstein’s Waterfront theme displays the associations of heroism, stoicism, a lone figure against a collective force, and masculinity.
Yet, there are other attributes to Bernstein’s score that deserve attention. Hickman lists them:
1. Small colorful ensembles (ex. Terry on the roof with Edie and the pigeons)
2. Significant dissonance
3. Elements of jazz music
4. The film noir ‘wavering sound’. Notice especially in the climax how the vibraphone is used to provide a sort of undulating effect. Film music scholars have associated this sound with the film noir style. Hickman does not mention this but it is note worthy.
This article by Hans Keller focuses on Bernstein’s contribution to film music.
There are a number of interesting topics within the document but the assigned reading for this week addresses the idea of Bernstein’s approach with his score for On the Waterfront

What: For this assignment you will need to talk with two women of different generations. Your goal is to understand how their work and family choices were shaped by social forces (and not just by their individual choices). These women should be different generations from your own. So, consider someone your mother’s age, or someone near her age (40s-50s). And consider someone your grandmother’s age, or someone your grandmother’s age (60s to 70s). Or if you fall into one of these age groups, pick someone from a younger generation (20s-30s) to interview. Your interviewees do not need to be relatives, they could be a classmate, colleague, or friend. How: Set up a time to talk to both women separately. This can be virtually (Zoom), or over the phone). You will ask both women a few questions so that they can describe the work and family choices they’ve made in their lives. Paper requiements: Your final 5-6 page (double-spaced) paper should analyze the responses you receive from both women. Your paper should be analytic and must bring in concepts from the textbook. Make sure to use specific examples of their experiences wherever you can. You can use first person (“I”) in sociology papers. Your paper should answer the following questions: How were each woman’s choices constrained by social and institutional forces? How did inequalities like race, class, ethnicity etc. influence their decisions? How have women’s choices changed from one generation to the next? How does what you have found relate to the course reading material? How do their choices relate to the choices you yourself (or women around you) are currently making?

ECO 550 Week 5 Discussion college essay help near me: college essay help near me

Context
The idea that transactions in a marketplace work like an invisible hand is to some extent the idea that when a person chooses to buy an item at a given price, they are happy with the deal. There is no coercion. If the person really does not like the deal, they simply walk away.

This week’s discussion will give you an opportunity to explore direct and indirect price discrimination within the context of a hypothetical scenario.

Instructions
For this discussion, use the following hypothetical scenario as the basis for your response:

Your business partner is strongly opposed to your proposal to charge your largest customers lower prices for your web-based services than what you will charge your smaller customers. She is arguing it is unethical, unfair, and possibly illegal.
Address the following in your discussion post:

Make a case that both groups of customers will be satisfied with the deal and that this is a perfectly legal form of pricing in a business-to-customer relationship.
What degree is this type of price discrimination?
How will the plan increase revenue?
Why will both groups of customers be satisfied with the deal?
Why is this a legal form of pricing?
Use evidence from your textbook or other reputable sources to support your case to your business partner.
Note: In your discussion posts for this course, do not rely on Wikipedia, Investopedia, or any similar website as a reference or supporting source.

**To earn full credit for your discussion, you must complete one post and one follow-up or reply to a classmate. Make sure both the post and the reply focus on the questions asked.

Recognizing Words in Print: Strategies and Activities essay help

Assessment Description

When teaching students to recognize words in print, teachers can use a variety of activities before, during, and after reading to help students understand words, word meanings, and how words go together. Utilizing appropriate strategies that incorporate print concepts will help increase students’ word recognition skills.

Use the “Recognizing Words in Print Template” to complete this assignment.

Part 1: Strategies

Research and summarize, in 250-500 words, a minimum of five strategies for teaching word recognition and print concepts to elementary students with language delays or disabilities. Keep in mind strategies that help students monitor for their own errors. Within your summary, identify the conditions under which the identified strategies are intended to be delivered (e.g., content area, class setting, required resources, if intended for a specific type of disability).

Support your findings with 2-3 scholarly resources.

Part 2: Activities

Identify a small group of 2-3 kindergarten students, using the “Class Profile,” who would benefit from further development of their word recognition or print concepts skills.

Identify a text appropriate to use with the small group identified.

Draft a 250-500 word outline summarizing three activities to reinforce word recognition and print concepts, utilizing the identified text.

Be sure to incorporate at least three of the strategies from Part 1 into your activities.

Part 3: Rationale

In 250-500 words, rationalize your instructional decisions from Part 2. Be sure to explain how the identified strategies and activities enhance the language development of the students in the identified small group. Cite the “Class Profile” where appropriate.

PHASE 1 AND 2 of the attached document. You can also read the descriiption below:

The core assignment in this class is a single paper to be written in parts over the course of the semester. As stated in the syllabus, the gist of the project is to propose a scientific study to answer a social psychological question and write about what might be learned based on the potential results. I do not expect you to actually carry out the study, but you should be able to describe it in enough detail that someone could carry it out if they wanted to. I encourage you to propose a study that you would not be able to do yourself please submit each draft as a Microsoft Word document, double-spaced and formatted in 12 point Times New Roman with one-inch margins. Cite your sources (in-text citations and works cited page). I want you to think creatively about this assignment, but I must impose one restriction in order to make some of the later aspects of the assignment possible. You must propose an experiment wherein your main hypothesis concerns the relationship between two binary variables and one numeric variable. Specifically, your experiment should have: • An experimental manipulation with two conditions. In other words, you should plan to randomly assign each participant to one of two versions of the procedure. This process results in one binary variable. (You might think of this as a binary independent variable or a factor.) • Another binary variable. This could be another experimental manipulation or a measured variable, but it must also have two categories. (You might think of this as another binary independent variable or factor.) When you consider this binary variable in combination with the experimental manipulation above, the result will be that every participant falls into one of four categories. • A numeric measure of a variable that might be affected by the manipulation. (You might think of this as your dependent variable.) Once you have these three variables in mind, you should be able to formulate predictions about how the average (mean) value of the numeric dependent variable will be different in the four combinations of the binary variables. Phase 1: Propose a topic Come up with an idea for an empirical question that one could ask about a social psychological topic, and a research procedure that could be used to begin to answer the question under the stipulation above. You should be able to list the two binary variables and the numeric variable. You may find that you need to simplify your initial idea in order to focus on just two binary independent variables. For the initial topic proposal, I do not need a detailed descriiption, but I do need to understand the research question, the gist of the procedure, the three key variables, and the hypotheses that the procedure will test. Your topic proposal document should have three short sections. (They could be as short as three or four sentences each, although you may write more if it helps explain your point.) The first part should explain your general topic. Tell me what you want to study. The second part should explain the procedure of the study you wish to propose. For example, suppose you were testing the effect of physical warmth on mood. You might randomly assign each participant to sit in either a warm room kept at 75°F (24°C) or a cool room kept at 65°F (18°C). You might also randomly assign each participant to wait in their room for one minute or ten minutes. Then, participants might fill out a questionnaire indicating the degree to which their current mood is positive or negative. The third part should state the hypotheses your procedure is intended to test, phrased in terms of the three specific variables clearly measured or manipulated in the procedure itself. You should have two or three hypotheses, and I should be able to trace every concept in your hypotheses to the concrete steps of the procedure mentioned in the previous section. To continue the above example, you might test the hypotheses that participants in the warm room would report more positive mood than participants in the cool room overall, and that this effect would be larger when they have been in the room for 10 minutes as opposed to 1 minute. If your topic proposal document has all three required parts, you will get full credit. Phase 2: First draft The first draft of the paper will resemble a shortened version of the introduction and method sections of a psychological research report. Give your paper a descriiptive title and print it on the first page, immediately before the introduction begins. The introduction (approximately 2 double-spaced pages) should explain why the topic is important, define any key terms, provide background information for the hypotheses, and clearly articulate each hypothesis. If you think it will help with the organization, you are welcome to subdivide the introduction into sections for importance, definitions, background, and hypotheses. You should have two or three hypotheses. You will be expected to cite at least two published research reports in this part of the paper, most likely in the service of defining key terms or providing background information. When citing a source, refer to the authors and year in the text of the paper (e.g., Burke, Wang,

REQUIREMENTS:  Develop a logical process model corresponding to the narrative below including context level, level-0, and level-1 DFD  Identify 3 pieces of missing information in a separate list. Consider missing logic, miracles, black holes, and grey holes. Limit listing infinite sinks and sources, read-only and write-only data stores to a maximum of 1.  Do not make any assumptions. L’Autre Choix Mini Marche1 is a small, quaint, independently run organic grocery store in Westmount. The following is a description of two of the subsystems. Subsystem 1: Process customer’s email orders When an employee or the owner of L’Autre Choix Mini Marché receives an order from a customer by email, s/he verifies the availability of the ordered products by viewing the products in the store. As s/he locates an ordered product in the store, s/he writes it on the paper listing the products in this order. When completed, this paper is stored with all other verified orders in a pile on the owner’s desk until an employee has time to assemble the order. If, on the other hand, an ordered product is not available in the store, it is first recorded in a spreadsheet with all other unavailable products. S/he then immediately offers the customer an alternative product by viewing the products in the store. If the customer does not accept it, the employee continues to offer other alternatives until the customer either accepts it or decides not to order that product. When the customer accepts the offered alternative product, it is immediately added to the list of products in this verified order. Once an employee has time, s/he assembles the verified orders by placing the listed products in a bag. As soon as s/he completes assembling the order, s/he places the bag in another location with all other assembled orders and attaches the list of products in the verified order to the bag. S/he immediately contacts the customer, informing him/her that the order is ready for pick-up. If the customer had requested delivery, s/he would have stated it when placing the order, which would then have been included in the verified order. At the time of delivery, an employee generates a delivery list based on the verified order list attached to the assembled order and delivers both the ordered products and this new list of deliveries to the customer. The original verified order list is stored with all other completed deliveries. Subsystem 2: Process Payment When the customer confirms the total purchase amount, the cashier asks the customer for payment. Whether it is an in-store purchase, a pick-up order, or a delivery, a customer may offer to pay later on “tab”. The manager relies on her memory when deciding if the customer is reliable enough to be allowed to pay on tab. If the manager decides not to allow the customer to pay on tab, she informs the customer to proceed to an immediate payment. If, on the other hand, the manager approves it, she records the amount owed, the customer’s name, and the phone number on a piece of paper and sets it aside until the customer returns to pay the tab. When the customer returns to pay the tab, the cashier stores the payment received with all other payments, and removes the paper from the customer tabs pile. S/he then immediately generates a receipt and gives it to the customer. If the customer pays immediately, either in store, at the time of pick-up, or delivery, the cashier generates a receipt and gives it to the customer. If it is a payment for a delivery, the original “verified order” list that was stored with all other completed delivery lists is now discarded.
